So the basics here are that I'm Harvey Michael Benedict, but everyone just calls me Harv. I was born in Brookshire, Texas in 1981on the 17th of May which makes me Thirty One. I moved to Myrtle Beach in 2001 and brought a new branch of my construction business here with me. I left my brother in charge of the business back in Texas and he hasn't screwed it up yet so I'm proud. I have been called a ladies man, but I don't have a preference for either gender. It's about passion and respect not gender. Stage 2 - Framing Born in Brookshire Texas that's where I was raised since it's where my parents live still to this day. We're a big Texan family meaning we're loud, crazy, and when there's a BBQ you better bring a big stomach and energy to keep up with us. We're kinda a cliche in ways, horses and my family has a cattle ranch, we have the texan twang when we speak and we're "rowdy". My family is huge, my dad is one of eight kids, six boys and two girls, so it started there and all of them have at least 3 or more kids. In my family I have three brothers and I'm the oldest. We like to grow? When we all get together it's a huge party and we have fun. I grew up helping on the ranch and being a general pain in the ass while learning respect and how to be a good man. My mama didn't raise me to be rude or ignorant and made sure me and my brothers had good educations and plenty of opportunities to grow and support while doing it. She's kinda the heart of my family since my grandma died and she takes it seriously because it means she keeps tabs on everyone and makes sure our family sticks together. Stage 3 - Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical Describing myself is like saying to describe the far side of the moon. You have an idea what you'd see but you're not as familiar with it as you are with the side you see all the time. I see myself but I'm not so clear on explaining who I am because I'm on the wrong side of it to be able to explain. If that makes any sense at all. I'll go with what I've heard other people say and hope it's clear enough. Stage 4 - Insulation and Drywall I started in the construction business because my dad owned it originally. It was small then, but one I had my carpentry and construction certificates he put me in charge and I started thinking bigger. I built it up into what it is today; which is a construction business that is run in five different states and quite large. It's a money maker too which is nice but money isn't everything so the fact that we do quality work is what matters to me. Stage 5 - Exterior and Interior Finish As a side business I make benches, swings, tables, chairs, cupboards and just about anything I can out of wood and sell it at pretty cheap prices since it's not a main income thing. I give most of the money I make off of it every year to a childrens charity and the bit i keep out I go spend in a toy store and surprise kids in hospitals, shelters, orphanages, smaller schools or anywhere really with presents. The reason I do this stuff is because kids in my family are important, they're to be loved, cared for, raised right, and given a chance to make something of themselves. The thought that there are kids out there without someone to care for them, who are sick and might never get better, who are scared of their futures being blank and empty...well it breaks my heart and if I can do something to cheer them up and make a time of year that's supposed to be happy and cheerful good for them. then I'm going to do it. |
