Carter and Huntington were fighting. Well, not exactly because he didn’t know anything was wrong. The two had been dating for almost a year, and so when Huntington decided she needed a roommate to help with rent, obviously she asked her boyfriend first. And he’d surprised her by saying no, that he wasn’t ready for that big of a commitment. That, of course, had completely blindsided her. The two had been dating for such a long time that she figured he would be ready to take that step with her. But apparently not. Huntington wasn’t poor, put the expenses in her life were piling up. Although she had inheritance from both her parents and her grandparents, the brunette wanted to keep most of that in savings. So, getting a roommate was the way to go. Although, besides Carter, she didn’t know anyone who could move in with her. Jenna and Lissa, her two best friends from college, already bought a small house and were living together. And Huntington wasn’t close enough to anyone else. Luckily, her friend Alex had come through for her. He said he knew a guy that was looking for a place to live, and Huntington didn’t even question it. It occurred to her that Carter, possessive as he could be, would probably have a problem with another man moving in with her, but she didn’t care. If he really had a problem with it, then he should have taken her up on the offer when he had a chance. She had always been an independent girl and he wasn’t going to tell her who she could and couldn’t live with. Some people (aka Jenna and Lissa) couldn’t see how Carter and Huntington made it work, just because she was so strong and independent, and he had a tendency to treat her a bit like property. But they didn’t understand how sweet he could be.
Today was the day that her new roommate was going to move in. Alex was supposed to help him, but ended up having to fly out of town for a family thing. Looking down at the piece of paper Alex had written his name on, she was reminded that it was Tucker. The entire morning had been spent cleaning out the extra room in her apartment, making sure that it was perfect for her new roommate. Huntington was an extremely neat, organized person. She loved everything to be clean, alphabetized, the whole nine yards. Jesus, she hoped that Tucker wasn’t a slob, she just didn’t think she would be able to handle it. Huntington was all about order, it was what kept her sane. When she was too stressed out to do anything else, she would turn to cleaning. Her friends always made fun of her for it, but Huntington didn’t care. She sat on the couch in the living room, watching her kitten Simon as he trotted in, meowing. ”Hi baby,” she said, smiling down at the little black and white fur ball, a present from Carter, hopped up into her lap. As she stroked his ears, Huntington sighed inwardly at the fact that she would have to get used to living with someone again. She had been completely on her own for two years ago, not even having a family to go home to in the summers. It had just been her for the longest time.

it shouldn't be so hard LIZZY/HUNTINGTON , hot , 725 , hahaha cocky as ever this was not ideal to the male in the slightest as he would have rather been living on his own but on a lifeguard salary and the small donations from his parents, it was hard for the male to find anything in his price range. the very last resort was to ask a friend if they knew of anywhere and a fellow co-worker had a friend. the name hunter was thrown around a lot when discussing the plans and no pronouns were ever used so tucker was under the impression that his roommate was going to be a guy who was just a bit of a nerd. that was okay to tucker cause that meant he could be out of the house more often than not for training, physical therapy and work—as well as his adult activities—and not be bothered with having to bond with the male. he had no intentions of being best friend with the guy, or to be buddy-buddy with him, they were roommates and that was it. with a yawn, hand reaching up to cover his mouth as he drove the moving truck with very little of his stuff as most of it was in storage just waiting for the day that he would get his own place—he pulled up to the apartment building and gave a small smirk as he glanced at the size of it through the windshield. it was decent, not something that his lifestyle was used to but tucker turned his back on that with the death of his little brother, so this was going to have to work for him. sighing, he got out of the truck and watched as another car pulled up behind filled with a few friends that would help load his stuff out of truck and into his new home.
giving some of them high fives, and fist bumps, tucker walked around to the back of the truck and slowly began to open it while listening to the questions about his new roommate. no one knew anything about this hunter, as he appeared to be off the party radar as far as tucker’s social circle was considered. dude this guy is non-existant, he must be a complete bookworm…”, tucker just scoffed as they were already making fun of his new roommate before actually meeting him but tucker had to admit that he was thinking the exact same thing. anyone he asked had no idea about this hunter person, they knew of a girl named huntington and there was another male named hunter but he was certaintly not how alex described the new roommate. picking up a box, he hopped out of the truck and moved ahead of his friends as he entered the building, punching in the code that had been given to him and securing the elevator all before his friends caught up. loading the elevator was easy and most of the truck was empty by then as he pushed the button, making his friends take the other elevators. the door remained opened but tucker put a heavy box at the entrance of the elevator door for precaution before walking, reading the numbers off until he came to the correct door. turning the knob, he pushed it open and furrowed his brows to the sight of not only a girl but a familiar one. ”wait what..” [/b] he commented, pushing the door open to read the number to see it as clear as day, matching the number that was written on his key and on the paper that alex had given him. ”..you’re hunter?”[/b] he asked, scoffing as he put the box on the ground and shook his head, ”remind me to thank alex for giving me such a..”[/b] and he did not hesitate to let his eyes wonder, ”attractive roommate.”[/b]. his ego was already showing as he stuck out his hand, approaching the girl and her dog, ”I can still give you that mouth to mouth, roommate to roommate I mean, well…I’m tucker.”[/b] he commented, hearing the comments from the door that held four very surprised males, ”and these are my helpers. caden, derek and mitchell.”[/b] and with that, tucker retreated into his room, chuckling as he looked around the empty space, ”aww you cleaned, how sweet.”[/b]. yes, this was the start of a beautiful and slightly awkward roommateship. Huntington was naturally high strung, and she pretty much always had been. She needed to be in control of things pretty much all the time. Her finances, her grades, her schedule. Relinquishing control just wasn’t something that the brunette did willingly. Except for when it came to Carter. Carter was a pretty controlling guy himself, as well as protective and territorial when it came to Huntington. And actually, she was kind of looking forward to the look on Carter’s face when he heard about Tucker. Yeah, it wasn’t exactly healthy that that’s what she was looking forward to, but so be it. Another think that Huntington had always been was independent. I guess that’s what happened when you were an orphan, though. Orphan. That was such an ugly word, but when you got right down to it that’s exactly what Huntington Grace Fischer was. Her parents had been killed in a car wreck when she was younger, and that is when the brunette figured she’d probably been broken. They’d been good people and even better parents. They’d loved her more than anything. And no one should have to go through the loss of their parents at nine years old. Plus, Huntington missed Colorado dearly. She was a mountains girl, not a beach girl. She preferred snow to sand. But she didn’t think she’d ever get back to the state, not now.
She was so caught up in her own thoughts that the sound of the door opening caused Huntington to jump just a bit. She sat Simon down on the side of the couch and stood up as her new roommate entered the apartment. When he asked if she was Hunter, the brunette crossed her arms and furrowed her eyebrows. ”Huntington. You’re Tucker?” He was familiar, but it took her a moment to place his face. Then it clicked – this was the idiot lifeguard who’d ‘rescued’ her on the beach not too long ago. As he openly let his eyes travel over her body, Huntington felt her cheeks heat up, and when he held out his hand she didn’t shake it. ”You can tell your buddies to take your boxes right back downstairs,” she said, following him back to his room. ”Because you’re not moving in with me.” Hadn’t she told Alex about the psycho on the beach? Surely she had. But of course, even if she had, Huntington wouldn’t have given Alex the name of the lifeguard, since she’d stormed off before getting it. God, if only she’d had that name, it would have saved her all of this trouble. ” Yeah, I cleaned. But obviously it was a waste. I’m sure Alex would be more than happy to help you find a new place.” Huntington was never overly cordial to anyone, but she especially didn’t see why she should be so to Tucker. The guy had completely humiliated her in front of a beach full of people. And Hunt didn’t like to be humiliated.
