HOW CAN I MOVE ON WHEN I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU? SASS W/TAHLIA , 980 , TSHIRT&JEANS , JUST..DFADA UGH THE FEELS now that the dolphins were fed, the manatees were asleep and the killer whales were frolicking with a huge block of ice, charles was finally able to go home. exhaustion was written on his face, his eyes were drooping and felt heavier than mercury at this point. a duffle bag was now laid on the bed as his hands reached up to rub at his reddened eyes, swearing to himself that he looked high at this moment. it had been a long, tiring, stress filled day and all that charles wanted to do was sleep in a bed—any bed. he did not care about the company, the state of the cleanliness or anything important factors about the bed, all he wanted was a bed. tossing a present in the bag for his best friend, he proceeded to zip it up and let out a small yawn as his fingers wrapped around the handle and he yanked the bag off the bed. turning his back, he was half tempted to fall backwards and be enveloped in the comfort of his own mattress but he knew that he was due to be at tahlia’s in anytime now. he had tried to make the preparations for the small sleepover quickly but it was not working out too well as his energy levels were lower than he had expected. tahlia’s voice and even just her appearance would be enough to cause the sleep to wipe out of his eyes but being this close to a bed, his body was rejecting the very idea of taking another step but charles pushed on for his best friend. he would do this for anyone at any time of the day or the night because that was the kind of guy that he was but it was hard for charles to sacrifice things such as eating and sleeping for people because they were natural instincts. reaching the living room while trying to shut his thoughts off, charles reached for a few of the disney collection discs that he had, adding it to the collection of clothes and the stuffed dolphin that he got from the aquarium gift shop thanks to the help of his connections.
the apartment of hers was not in the nicest of areas and he hated the job that she had but charles had no place to say anything about her lifestyle as he hardly felt like he had a place in their friendship. they were rekindling everything that they had first had and charles had come to notice that the friendship was not only the thing that was ignited full force once more. his feelings for the blonde reared their head once more again as soon as he had saw her face and it was killing him once more. all of their university days were spent with him pining over her, watching her make mistake after mistake and silently wishing that she would just turn his way. when university was over, they parted ways only to have fate bring them together once more—it had to mean something. but he was too shy to do anything about it and it seemed that the pattern was going to continue once more as she was off on a date with a guy who drove a bike while charles got off the small motorbike that he drove from place to place. tossing the helmet onto the seat, he took the small key out of the ignition and set the kickstand down before moving up the steps to the girl’s apartment. each step was calculated, moving a slow pace as he unzipped the bag and pulled out the dolphin stuffed animal from between his clothes. it was medium sized but charles was able to hold it with one hand as he reached her step and dropped the dolphin to his side while his other hand reached for the wooden door and knocked.
sighing softly, he actually took a step back as the door remained close and he furrowed his brows, wondering if he had to the write apartment. three oh two, that was correct or at least it had been only a few night earlier when he had been standing in this exact spot wrapping his arms around her and saying how much of a jerk that the guy that broke her heart was. that was charlie’s job as the best friend and he could not deny the feeling of her being in his arms felt good, it felt right, but he had to ignore it. a goofy smile was put onto his face as the doorknob began to turn and she was revealed, standing at the door. ”uh hey..wasn’t sure if I should have knocked or just come in but um..” [/b], he quickly lifted the stuffed animal up and presented it to her. ”I got this for you for when you know..i’m not here and you need a cuddle buddy..”[/b] as soon as the words left his mouth he wanted to smack himself. cuddle buddy? really? groaning out loud, he moved closer to the door with his duffel bag in his hand, ”well I got bambi, Cinderella, sleeping beauty because…aurora is beautiful and tangled…cause she is exactly like you.”[/b] he grinned, poking her nose before leaning down and pressing a kiss to her forehead. he was still awkwardly standing at the doorway, unsure of what action should be taken and he let a small clear of his throat break the silence between the two of them before gesturing, ”shall we?”[/b] his grin growing larger as his arm with the stuffed animal moved around her shoulder, pressing the tip of the dolphin’s nose into her cheek as though the stuffed animal was giving her a kiss. ”and you have to give …it a proper name.”[/b], finally stepping into the apartment and slowly closing the door behind him. tahlia had gone into work, her normal job working behind the bar serving drinks to the sexed up men and women who came in to the club to watch girls dance on poles getting dangerously close to naked. When she’d gotten there she’d clocked in and started working but one of the girls had called in to say she wouldn’t be able to make it and that meant the manager went on a hunt for a girl already on staff who could fill in. Tonight had been Tally’s night since she knew the dances already and sometimes filled in as needed. Dancing wasn’t what she’d applied for when getting this job and it hadn’t been a job she wanted really but needing a job meant she’d take whatever she got. More money was made when she danced too so it was a nice bonus she hadn’t expected. The downside about nights she danced was the fact that she felt more than gross when she got home and sometimes the people didn’t just watched they tried touching and grabbing. It had been one of those nights where someone felt bold and had reached up to grab her arm trying to pull her down into his lap. She hadn’t been interested and thankfully the security in the club was actually worth it’s pay and the man had been escorted out after that stupid choice.
Going home was the highlight of the night, the chance to get back into her own apartment and shower. She hadn’t been able to find a place in the best of neighborhoods but it didn’t matter because it was her place and she called it home and it was a place to go after work for that shower. Even nights when she wasn’t dancing the shower was the first thing she went for when she got home from work. Today hadn’t been any different and she glared at the bruise forming on her arm before going on a food hunt in her kitchen. She turned on her music once her laptop had started up and hit the internet happy to catch Charles online. She was glad to be back near him, glad to have the chance to get close to him again and have their friendship back. Sure she had his number while away but the phone just didn’t cut it and while you had good intentions of calling often you didn’t always keep up with those intentions even if you really wanted to. Char-bear was and in her opinion is still her best friend, and having him close by is one of the reasons she’d made the choice to move back on top of knowing the area and being comfortable there.
Once she’d gotten him to agree to coming over and had gotten offline with him she went back to her food hunt and found stuff to make herself a sandwich that she ate while dancing around her little apartment cleaning a bit and setting up for movie night. She had two tv’s, a fairly old one in her living room and the one in her bedroom which was newer. The new one was in the bedroom because that’s where she found herself curling up to watch movies or TV most often so it made the most sense to her. Grabbing the laptop she moved into her room keeping the music on as she started working on a few of her plans. She intended to save up money and open her own salon and get the hell out of the club away from bartending and dancing. She was keeping track of what she saved and looking into how much she needed, what was available and trying to see if she could make it happen sooner instead of later depending on the market and how much it would all cost in the end. Annoying the prices just kept rising instead of dropping but she had hope.
She had managed to bundle herself up in a blanket while surfing the net for random things and trying to do window shopping via the internet by the time she heard the knock. Hitting pause on the music she tumbled off the bed yelping as she slammed her elbow on the floor she growled at the blanket that just wouldn’t let go before managing to get free and taking off toward her door. There was only one person who’d be showing up tonight so she didn’t bother checking to make sure who it was before she unhooked the chain and pulled it open smiling at Charles happily. The smile grew as he held up the dolphin and she laughed shaking her head at him a little, Cheesy Char-bear but still loveable! The dolphin will make a good cuddle buddy for when I can’t have you though so you’re forgiven. And you can always just come in though it would have been hard because I had the chain on. I forgot to unchain it once I invited you over. she said her words coming in an excited rush nearly tumbling over each other in the rush to pass her lips.
His list of movies got a nod and a small pout at being compared to rapunzel, it didn’t last long though and her smile came back full force as he kissed her forehead and she hooked her arms around him to give a quick hug and kiss his cheek, I’ve got lady and the tramp, toy story, and beauty and the beast within easy reach…also known as they’re not still in unlabeled boxes. she said with a little laugh as she was “kissed” on the cheek by the dolphin and told it needed a proper name. get in here and make yourself at home while I come up with a name then. she said moving so he could get inside and close the door. She turned toward the bedroom and headed that way to lead him to it. we’re using the good tv for this and the bed’s more comfy anyway. Are you hungry or thirsty or anything? she asked knowing she could dig up some snacks for them to eat while watching the movie if he wanted some but not needing them herself right now.

SASS W/TAHLIA , 1048, BOXERS&TSHIRT , DFADADAD -dead- this proved to be more difficult that charles had actually first imagined. he knew that falling back into each other’s life would be nothing for one side of the friendship but he knew that his own hidden feelings would bubble up once more and show in all of it’s glory that charles was far from being over tahlia. who would not love this girl? she was beautiful, smart, driven, she had a viper tongue when she needed it and was willing to protect anyone, her tastes for bad boys were less than desirable for charles but it just let him have an even larger opening in her life. she talked about dates with him and he faked smiles and gossiped with the girl more than she did with her other friends, he watched movies and comforted her, they had sleepovers and it was ignorant for anyone to think that feelings would develop. a guy and girl being friends was always great, until one of them developed feelings and though charles never really paid much attention to that quote or gave it much thought, he realized how much it was applying to this situation. with a duffle bag in one hand full of goodies for the movies, presents for the girl and his own clothes since the ones that he was currently wearing would probably find a nice new home in tahlia’s apartment as his house was full of her shoes, dresses, skirts and anything else that she was wearing when she decided to just crash or he invited her over. come to think of it, besides her date nights that went good, they were never alone at night because they always had each other. this thought brought a smile to his face as he waited for the door to be opened. the goofy smile that was plastered on his lips probably looked slightly ridiculous as the door was finally opened and revealed his best friend, the grin just growing to as his nickname was spoken, ”tally mally wally sally!” [/b] he grinned before looking to the dolphin, turning the stuffed animal to face him, ”she didn’t mean that, she loves you already,”[/b], giving the stuffed dolphin a pat on the head before turning to look at her. ”oh my mom always says to knock before entering a room or a house if you know that someone is occupying…”[/b] but his voice trailed off before his throat was cleared, mothers were probably not a good topic to go with when it came to discussion with the girl that you had feelings for, ”I’ll um..knock, wait for an answer and then open..deal?”[/b] he asked, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead as the formal greeting that was established between the two. he chuckled to the pout at the mention of the movie tangled, pulling it from his bag and looking between the box and then to her, ”blonde, beautiful, ambitious, wild…little crazy..yea that’s you..oh and has a bad boy with a golden heart..”[/b] which was not him in the slightest. looking to the box cover, he let out a sigh as he was reminded of the looming date in her schedule that involved some biker guy that she must have met at her workplace. he was quick to return the hug, reassurance that she was in fact safe tonight and he had nothing to worry about, giving her a little squeeze for extra measure before releasing her all together and stepping into the apartment. ”woah I can see the floor. you cleaned tally.”[/b] he grinned, pointing to the broom that was sitting in the corner and shaking his head, ”swiffers are so much better.”[/b] he commented jokingly while dropping his bag next to her coffee table. he relinquished possession of the toy over to her and nodded, ”it needs a good name.”[/b] he spoke, referring to the stuffed animal as a result of his pointed finger before bending down and pulling his own collection of disks out of his bag and placing them on the coffee table. hands fell to his hips and he chuckled, ”we have a Disney problem…”[/b] he muttered, shaking his head before looking over to her bedroom door and nodding. the good tv was set up especially for her own comfort in her own bed, ”nah I’m good.”[/b] he mumbled while picking his bag up and relocating to her bedroom. he knew this apartment well and quickly retreated into the bathroom to change out of his day clothing and into his pjs which were usually just boxers but he added a white t-shirt for good measure. he stepped out of the room and tossed the bag to a random spot before reaching her form and pulling her into his arms. his strong arms looped around the back of her legs while the other supported her back as he picked her up and cradled her into his body bridal style. ”so which movie shall we watch first?”[/b] he asked, ready for sleep to hit him as soon as his body hit the mattress. he hardly ever made it through movie night successfully and it seemed that it would be one of those times once more but at least he had tahlia with him from the time that he fell asleep until his internal alarm clock woke him up. his steps moved them over to the bed and his arms continued to stay around her body until they were both seated comfortably, falling back into her pillows and pulling her down with him. he just needed his best friend to be there right now, and though the two were staring at the black screen of the television, he was perfectly content with it. ”how was your day?”[/b] he asked while his hands moved to her hair, twirling a blonde strand around his fingers and attempted to even make a braid which fell limp and soon fell apart all together but his head fell against hers and his eyes started to shut. he was trying to stay awake, keep a conversation going that would at least stimulate him. he hated the subject that would need to be discussed but without opening his eyes or lifting his head, he cleared his throat and mumbled, ”looking forward to your date?”[/b]. Tahlia had a long history with her best friend, and she wouldn’t give up or change any of it no matter what you offered her. She’d once crushed on Charles, wishing he would notice her and try something or maybe even be the gentleman she knows he is and ask her on a date or something. She’d realized though that friendship was what they had and that’s all they’d probably ever have even if her char-bear was hot as hell and a total sweetheart. She went for men with an edge these days, moving out of her fourteen year old mentality that boys should all be prince charming for her and that was how she’d be happy. These days she went for the guys who could be the villain or at least the dark prince because it was just more fun that way. She still wanted a happily ever after, wanted to have her dreams come true and be with a man who could give her that. She was just looking at different guys than your classic “prince charming” since there was just something so…sexy about the bad boy effect. The date she had coming up with the guy who had a motorcycle was somewhat normal for her because she kept looking, kept trying and she hadn’t found what she was looking for yet. She always knew she could count on Charles to be there for her though, she could count on him to have ice cream and movies to go with some needed cuddles when it all fell through.
Emotional would be a word you could use to describe Tahlia, she knew that fact too but it didn’t do anything to stop her from being that way. She couldn’t help it that she believed in love and that she believed you could find love still even with the divorce rate rising world-wide and people beginning to think it was just a dream and you had to learn to settle or you’d be alone forever. She had no intention of settling because she knew that it was possible to fall in love with the right person as long as you were patient and didn’t let falling for the wrong people stop you. She didn’t fall “in love” with every man she dated, she just hoped that maybe this one might be the right one and she’ll finally get her fairy tale ending. So far she hadn’t had any luck with it but she was hoping that maybe this guy with the tough shell and the eyes that seemed to get into her soul would finally be her Mr. Right…and she didn’t care how many times she’d thought that or thought something like that in the past because the past and the present were two different things and eventually something new and different would come her way, something she maybe didn’t even see coming that was the most perfect answer to her questions and wishes.
She could put all of that aside for some time with her friend right now, and that’s exactly what she planned to do because Charles was here and they were them which meant things were going right in at least one way in her life. She knew no matter what happened with her and her dreams that she’d have him in her life and that was something she was glad for because her char-bear was important to her and her best friend ever. She laughed and shook her head at what he called her, ”we need to work on finding a nickname you can use that I’m not offended by because it makes me sound like a goober.” she joked and laughed watching him talk to the dolphin. ”I do love my new cuddle buddy and don’t you go making him think otherwise or Charles jr will develop a fear that his mommy doesn’t love him.” she said wagging a finger in Charles’s direction in a playfully stern way. Hearing him talk about his mom she smiled and nodded a little, ”she’s right about that but when the someone is a girl who will forever claim to know you better than you know yourself and who trusts you as much as I do? You get a little freer reign in what you do and that includes coming in instead of knocking char-bear. If I make you a key would it be less weird to just come in? well I mean you need a key anyway since I have one to your place and because if there’s anyone on the planet who should have my key or that I trust with it or even that I want to have it it’s you because I swear we might have two places but we live together anyway basically.” she said her mouth just running off in its normal “mile a minute” way that didn’t even make her winded because she was used to it.
Hid description of tangled made her pause to consider it, thinking through the movie and trying to fit the puzzle pieces of her own life into that one before shrugging with a little nod and a smile. ”point taken. I can do without being locked in a tower but the adventure and finding of a soul mate that way works for me. Plus I have a cartoon crush on flynn anyway so…” she said with another shrug. ”Flynn’s not really a bad boy though when you think about it, sure he’s got hints of it but he is really too sweet in his basic make-up to truly be a ’bad boy’ if that makes any sense.” she said and hugged back tightening her hold for a moment before letting him step away and reaching out to lightly smack the back of his head. ”Uncalled for char-bear. I’m not always messy.” she said before standing on her tippy toes to kiss the back of his neck. ”That’s as close as I get to where I swatted you so imagine it was on that spot instead.” she said knowing she couldn’t actually reach the “boo-boo” she caused to kiss it better but figuring that would work just as well. His comment about swiffers earned an amused eye roll from her as she took the dolphin hugging it close to her and grinning. ”I’m thinking I may stick with Charles jr. It’s got a ring to it.” she said and shook her head at him. ”it’s only a problem if you make it one and I don’t plan to make it one. We have an appreciation for Disney. See sounds so much nicer that way.” she corrected and stuck her tongue out at him before heading to her fridge to grab two bottles of water just in case they changed their minds so they wouldn’t have to get back up once comfortable to get them.
setting the water down by the bed and the dolphin stuffed animal on her pillow she pulled off her robe so she was just in her pj’s, glancing at her arm and wondering if she should maybe put the robe back on to just keep the bruise from changing the fun mood they were in. she didn’t get the chance to do more than think though before charles’s arms were wrapped around her and a smile was slipping across her lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck when lifted up. ”tangled…now that you’ve got it stuck in my head. You know how I am.” she said rolling her eyes at herself playfully and trusting him not to drop her since he’d never done so in the past. Some girls might have an issue being picked up at random, thinking it was a man’s way of showing he was the strong one in a relationship or friendship or something but Tally didn’t care one bit and would let Charles “manhandle” her all he wanted because she trusted him and knew she didn’t need to prove her strength to him because he already knew. She looked at his face as he carried her over toward the bed and let him pull her down with him as he settled into the bed. She got comfortable cuddled up with him and not worried about putting in a movie because even if she wasn’t the most observant of women on the world even she could tell he was tired tonight.
She gave a little shrug to his question reaching up to brush her fingers under one of his eyes lightly, ”woke up and unpacked a few more boxes today, then went to work and poured a few drinks, danced a bit, got a guy kicked out cause he got handsy, came home and danced around the apartment thankfully with my clothes all on and in my own goofy way of dancing instead of a routine. Now I’m all curled up here with you and I’m thinking that while that doesn’t sound like a whole lot accomplished today it was still enough to make me tired.” she said resting her arm across his chest comfortably in a familiar gesture. ”how was your day?” she asked back figuring they could talk till one or both of them fell asleep and that would be perfectly fine with her. His question about the date earned a smile and a little nod though she tried not to move too much so she wouldn’t head-butt him on accident or something. ”yeah I am…his name is logan and I only got to talk to him a little before he asked me out but he seemed interesting and his eyes…he’s got these eyes that are both hot and cold and somehow that makes them hypnotizing. I can’t tell if he’s hot with emotions or cold with bottling it up because it could be either way and you know how I like a puzzle.” she said remembering them as she explains.

HOW CAN I MOVE ON WHEN I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU? SASS W/TAHLIA , 1641, BOXERS&TSHIRT , DAMN YOU AND YOUR LONG POSTS XD there was noting that charles wanted more than to wrap tahlia up in a bubble and protect her from the world. even in university, when she was young and fresh on campus and the male population could not take their eyes off the beauty that was hanging with the nerdy looking male, the thought had not changed. she was so open to the world and everything that it had to offer but she never thought to protect herself like charles did. he put himself in a category with every girl that he met as to keep himself from getting hurt and to protect them from getting hurt as charles was not sure what kind of boyfriend he would be, as he was hardly given the chance to be. his mindset was that it was too late now, too far into his prime for him to change the ways of his life and so he continued to fall into the friend zone time and time again and never learned his lesson. it was a common element among the two of them as while charles protected both parties, tahlia only protected the other person and they both never learned from their mistakes. they continued to make the same ones as charles remained oblivious to girls’ feelings to him and tahlia never got a clue that a bad boy was not the best choice for her. the relationship that they build was something entirely different than his other friendships because he had feelings for the blonde haired, motor mouth girl and he could not bring himself to tell her. he complimented her, held her when she cried, offered ice cream and was more like a gay best friend but the feelings that charles felt for tahlia were enough for him to know that the other team was not who he batted for—even if others had a different idea in mind. the bond between the two of them was special, it was unique from the others and charles was certain that nothing could ever break them apart as long as he kept his mouth shut about his feelings and dug them further and further down, trying to throw them into a metaphoric blackhole where they would never be seen again but his emotions were stubborn and his love for her was stronger than his desire to deny it.
he raised an eyebrow to her, his head started to slowly tilt to the side as a quizzical expression came upon his face with his lips turning upward into a smile, ”and what pray tell me is the definition of a goober..” [/b] he asked, curiousity laced in his voice but he hardly cared about the definition, he just wanted to hear her rant again. he loved when she went off into tangents about nothing, having a passion for the little things that were so insignificant that they were overlooked but tahlia noticed them, she judged them, and she opened the doors for them to enter into her life. it was yet another factor that made her irresistible to him. shaking his head, he pushed those thoughts away, chuckling at the mention of the dolphin and turning it to face him. his head turned back into the proper position and his eyes narrowed before turning the creature to face tahlia, pressing the fabric of it’s side into his cheek, and grinning, ”charles jr? you think I look like a dolphin?”[/b] he asked with a chuckle to let her know that he was only kidding with her. he would have no problem in being compared to a dolphin as they were cuddly, loveable and energetic, qualities that charles had in himself. plus, he watched dolphins every day and he knew first hand of the love that they had for one another as well as the love that they had for their trainers. he was half tempted to ask who the father was, curious if his own name would come to mind but he was too afraid to question her own feelings and he slid the question out of his mind though it tried to linger, he found other ways to occupy his thoughts. her rant was a little shocking and winded and charles tuned out about half way through but shrugged as he heard her mention making him a copy of the key. had their friendship escalated that much? had he actually earned the right a key? he felt his cheeks kind of flush and shook his head, ”I would still knock even if I had the key in my hand..what if you were changing or…with someone..”[/b] a sight that he didn’t want to see at all, ”uh…that would just be awkward and…yea, it’s better if we stick to this. whole knocking, you answer door, we bicker and then cuddle….”[/b] and he really liked the last idea. tahlia was quite possibly the only girl to have crossed his mind and have him add or fantasize a sexual situation with her, romantic and classy but just a sneaky kiss here or there, or falling in between and tangling themselves into the bed sheets. his cheeks began to burn but the wet thoughts stopped as soon as his head felt the impact of the smack and was lurched forward a little. he was surprised by the kiss that followed the impact but it certainly soothed the burn even if she had not even gotten the spot on the back of his head. the healing power of the kiss traveled up and suddenly, the smack left his mind and was replaced with the same original thoughts about beautiful, eccentric tahlia. the procedure was the same as always as his muscles tensed to the small amount of weight that came with her physical form, his feelings were even heavier at this point. he carried her over to the bed, nodding as she mentioned the movie tangled and he looked down at her, ”whatever you say..rapunzel..”[/b], he grinned, pressing a kiss to her forehead as he set her down on the bed and moved to the dvd player in order to hunt through his own collection that had accumulated at the bottom of the duffel bag. placing the disk in the machine, he jumped back onto the bed and inched his way back to the top. his body slowly began to lower into a vertical position and his arm was outstretched for tahlia to fit right into. he was warm, content with the position that they were in and he could feel that rush of exhaustion causing his eyes to grow heavier and heavier with every passing moment. he tried to keep his mouth moving as much as he could by licking or biting at his lips, enough action that he could keep his mind focused on something other than sleep. he was drifting off but one eye popped open at the mention of an aspect of her day, ”handsy?”[/b] he questioned before reaching for her, pulling her closer, letting her be assured that she was safe in her own apartment or in his arms. charles would never dare get more than a back rub kind of physical unless the girl asked for it and not many of them had. ”well..”[/b] he spoke while giving his throat a small clear, ”glad to hear that security is good.”[/b] as charles had no right to judge tahlia at her side profession that came to when someone called in sick. he had never watched her dance but he had heard the sly remarks that came from guys when coming to pick her up and though he curled his fist, he never threw one, he never was violent because tahlia wasn’t his, she wasn’t ever going to be his. ”my day..uh..queenie is due soon so we are just preparing her for that. moving her into the birthing tank, uh..the manatee threw up today, that was gross and the penguin bit me..”[/b] he grumbled the last part, rolling up his pant leg to show a clear deep, red line up his leg, ”and went to the hospital for a shot and stitches..”[/b]. it was one of those days and he was enjoying his night more so. he tried not to move the topic to the date but sleep was winning and he wanted to stay up, he wanted to be here for her as much as she was there for him and he was going to do it anyway that he could. tahlia and him talked about everything, so why not go into the topic of her dates. it put him on edge, it resulted in his teeth and jaw to clench and his toes to curl with the mere thought of her being hurt again but it was a cycle that was not appearing to be breaking anytime soon. ”good, nice name…and at least you got some information. last name? age?”[/b] he asked more so out of his own protective side than curiousity though that did play a huge factor. he was just questioning the date all together, questioning who she was going out with, where they were going and he even so far as to think about what time she would get home, if she even came home. he nodded to her, thinking about how simple he was, how non complex his life and his personality were. it was not hard to figure himself out and that was not her type at all. sighing, he placed a kiss to the top of her head and blindly reached for the remote at her side, ”guess you got to crack that code…just be safe, be smart..”[/b]. he repeated those words to her each and every time and they always went ignored, he just prayed that she would listen and be honest when she said okay, just this once. Tahlia was the kind of girl who jumped in head first and expected the water to break her fall. She figured eventually she had to make a splash instead of hitting the bottom hard since she’d already hit a few times and that couldn’t last forever. She lived her life to live and have fun not being super careful and guarding herself all of the time because she didn’t think she’d ever find the love she was looking for if she didn’t and she’d never make the life she wanted for herself by hiding out on the sidelines either. She could understand guarding yourself a little for those who weren’t able to be as outgoing but she didn’t understand completely avoiding it like it seemed her best friend did sometimes. She didn’t understand Charles in that aspect, the way he didn’t ever seem to put himself out there or reach out for that connection with someone. She couldn’t remember ever seeing him ‘date’ someone or try to win over a girl he wanted. She would admit to once wondering if he was gay but she knew he’d tell her if he was so she didn’t let that thought linger too long. He wasn’t gay he was just…well she wondered if he was afraid or maybe just more asexual? Well no that couldn’t be it since asexual meant not the sex but the relationship so he would be backward. Backward asexual? If that wasn’t yet a thing it had become one in her mind where her best friend was concerned.
She watched the smile come across his face along with his quizzical expression and she grinned herself at the non-question question he posed as she considered how best to explain to him. Deciding on her answer she let her expression become serious like she thought a teachers would look right now ”A goober my dear Charles is…the personification of goofiness. It is what you get when you cross goofiness and idiocy with a person and that threesome has a miracle baby that needs a name so they decide on goober because it’s just such a perfect mix between the three.” she said keeping a straight face somehow and nodded seriously. The expression of seriousness disappeared a moment later as she couldn’t stop herself from laughing at that definition that made less sense than the word it was explaining. His question about her thinking he looked like a dolphin had her tilting her head and studying him as if honestly considering it a moment before shaking her head. ”No I don’t think you look like a dolphin, but you are the reason I have Charles jr so that makes you his dad.” she said and grinned. ”You solved my problem! Stuffed animal babies mean that I don’t have to get all fat, icky, and stretchy having children!” she said laughing again at the silliness of that.
Tally couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him saying he’d still knock even if he had a key into her place and at his explanation of why he should be knocking. ”Char-Bear if I didn’t want you coming in and seeing anything in here I’d just slide the chain on the door so that even if you unlocked it you still couldn’t get in. It’s not like it would be the end of the world anyway if you walked in while I was changing since it’s just girly bits and you’ve already seen what girly bits look like. Besides I’d be changing in my room probably so you call out a hello when you come in and I call back that I’m changing if that’s the case so you know not to go in there? It would and will be fine.” she said waving a hand at him as if dismissing the worries because they were now solved. She didn’t see it as being a problem since it was Charles and she didn’t care what he walked in on because she would never ever say he couldn’t come over no matter what. If he wanted to be there then he should be there because he was her char-bear and that was that. ”We can bicker and cuddle once you’re inside about random things and because we’re us.” she added with a smile. She hadn’t meant to smack him hard, it was just supposed to be a playful swat but she’d heard and felt it so she’d kissed it to make it better for him since she didn’t want to hurt her best friend ever.
She let out a light laugh as he called her rapunzel and smiled at the kiss to her forehead waiting for him to put in the movie and come back. ”Have to admit now you’ve stuck the princess bride into my head too since that sounded awfully close to “as you wish” which is of course the most important line in that movie.” she said and settled into her spot with him. In her own mind she had a joke that as they’d grown up she’d spent so much time tucked into “her spot” that it had actually formed specifically to her and would forever be perfect for her and only her. It was silly and pretty ridiculous but she didn’t care because it was only in her own head. Noticing the way he kept licking or biting his lips she tried not to focus too much on those actions since they were just a little distracting. Never let it be said her best friend wasn’t hot as hell…because that would be a lie. She nodded to his question of ‘handsy’ and sighed snuggling closer giving a little laugh. ”It’s not bad. Bo was there and he’s always looking out for us so it was handled quick.” she explained mentioning the bouncer who worked some nights and she knew she’d mentioned to Charles before.
Listening as he talked about his day she curled her arm across his chest hugging him as they cuddled and frowning at the penguin bite shaking her head, ”Do I need to go give that penguin a stern talking to? You know I’ll do it. Just because he dresses all fancy doesn’t mean he can be a jerk and I will make sure he knows that. No one gets to bite you but me…well I guess I’ll hand over that right when you get a girlfriend but until then I’m the only one who gets to bite you.” she said with a little giggle. She meant biting in the sense that she’d nip at his hand or playfully bite when they were sharing food or something though she’d once bitten his shoulder when he’d been tickling her too. She snorted at his questions and tilted her head to look up at his face. ”Williams and he’s twenty six. Any other questions dad?” she asked playfully annoyed. She knew he could be protective but she couldn’t blame him since she knew she’d be protective once he got a date too. She nodded to his last words and pressed a kiss to her fingers then her fingers to the tip of his nose. ”Always.” she said as she always did.

SASS W/TAHLIA , 1180, BOXERS&TSHIRT , END? his best friend was eccentric, strange, unique and beautiful in every way. looking at her now, even though she was in pajamas, he felt the breath knocked out of him for just a second. then she spoke and he could not help but let a laughter roll out from his between his lips as she explained exactly what a goober was. the definition was long and was probably unneeded and some would even label it as annoying but charles found it to be comical, unique and a little on the strange side. he made his thoughts known but his eyebrow arching and his head slowly moving sideways, giving a look that mirrored a confused puppy but curiosity gleamed in his eyes even though he appeared to have no idea what she was talking about. ”…uh…right…” [/b] he muttered unknowingly, dropping the topic all together before he burst into laughter along with her, taking a hand to his abs as they began to ache. ”such a silly girl..”[/b] he spoke as soon as his fit of laughter began to die. he poked at his nose, wondering if it was almost beak-like as a dolphin’s was, he then poked his forehead and found it to still be flat and not inflated, he did not understand how he could resemble a dolphin in anyway but stranger things had happened to him. ”dad? oh ..yea, not ready for fatherhood, that’s a big step in this friendship, going to have to think about that..”[/b] he chuckled before moving forward and wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace which was something that he had been longing to do since she had first opened the door. ”fat and icky? pregnancy on you? that would be a beautiful thing..”[/b] but then he stopped and stared down at her with eyes wide, ”with the right person and…close to whatever that thing is that girls have when their…uh..thing stops..”[/b] he stuttered over his words, his awkward nature coming out in full swing and he thought that he could have held it in just a little longer. bashfully, his arms dropped from around her and he moved further into the apartment in an attempt to escape the now thick air that surrounded them. ”well..seeing what? no no…wait, no, that’s not what I meant. I haven’t…and no, I don’t want to..”[/b] but even charles knew that was a lie even as it was coming out of his mouth. he had not meant to make it seem like tahlia was unattractive because she was far from it but a dent would have been in their friendship if he had spoken the truth, and awkwardness would have ensued. he wondered if maybe this was why he was mistaken for being gay, or maybe it was the movie nights, countless tissues that he had gone through or the fact that he could eat his weight in chocolate. ”I’ll still knock tally, you can’t knock the manners out of me that easily..”[/b] and he knew that was a fact. his parents had raised him right, his mother was his world and she taught him right from wrong and not knocking on a closed door, as long as it was possible for someone to be in there, was not the proper thing to do. his day had been long, tiring and full of travel from the outskirts to the hospital to the middle of the ocean and it was all for the small stitches that were now in his hand. he still found it hard to believe that he got bit by such a docile creature but he assumed it was the act of ruffling the belly feathers that rubbed the penguin the wrong way. ”well the lesson is learned and you couldn’t cause..you need a pass and people might think you are insane for talking to a penguin about biting. natural instincts tahlia..”[/b] he muttered into her hair with his eyes slowly beginning to shut and the beginning credits of the movie playing infront of them. he had seen the movie enough times to know what part was what just by the sound and was able to watch the movie without actually seeing it because he knew all of the parts by heart. ”what? I don’t think you have ever bitten me and…well, already got it once, and..why would my girlfriend bite me?”[/b] he asked with a raised eyebrow, confused as to why teeth needed to be involved in the relationship. charles was gentle with the girls that had been labelled his girlfriend and biting, on his end, did not occur unless the mood called for it but even then, the prude apologized. he did recall being bit by tahlia but that was years ago back when they were in university and his fingers had been working their magic on her side and making her giggle and laugh and then suddenly, she clamped onto his shoulder and the tickling ceased instantly. it was a good strategy but it was painful on his end. the memory caused a smile to come to his face, the movie’s introduction continuing to play but the male was already half gone in his sleep mode. he felt his eyes growing heavier and heavier and his finger was stinging as the freezing was now wearing off. he did not actually want to talk about her date as it was the last thing that he wanted to know, but it was also information that put him at ease. he was pleased to hear the smile in her voice since his eyes were not open and he could not physically witness her excitement. ”mental note had been taken..”[/b] he muttered into her hair once more, his arms moving around her body and giving it a squeeze as though she was a stuffed animal, a security blanket for him. his voice had grown groggy and his eyes were fully shut, most of his senses were shutting down as he slipped out of reality and into a dreamland. it was a good place to be, especially now, it was filled with memories that flashed in his mind and calmed his breathing down to an even tone as his body finally relaxed while squeezing tahlia further into his side. ”night..”[/b] his whispered into her hair as the last sign of his contribution to the movie night conversation as he finally shut down everything and drifted off to the sound of a soft melody coming from the television set.
