Why would they call them slumber parties or sleepovers when they didn’t sleep? Maybe at some point they would shut their eyes and knock out but it wasn’t like they were having a sleep study at her house. No, they were painting nails and at some point, the girl had the brilliant idea of having a scary movie-a-thon seeing as it was October and all. What were they thinking?! Lia, as tough as she pretended to be, had a problem with scary movies. Mix in that it was just her and Dakota O’Connor in the house as her father was away on a business trip and things just got a million and a half times scarier. Every creek in the house, every noise, had Lia jumping and hugging the pillow to her chest. Oh, where was her daddy when she needed him?
Currently, the girls were going through the Paranormal Activity movies and were on the third one. As far as scary movies went, the Paranormal Activity ones were the best. They kept her engaged and interested in what was happening and scared her in the moment but after they were finished, she didn’t lie awake for hours on end, wondering if she was going to die. Now, Jeeper’s Creepers would have had her awake for days and wouldn’t you know it, it was on her list of things to watch. Dammit.
It was just after midnight and a box of pizza lay on the floor, half eaten by the two girls who were currently engrossed in the movie when a knock at the door sent her heart rate out the roof. She wanted to believe that the knock had come from the TV but it was a very clear, solid knock and could have only come from one place, the door. On one hand, thank GOD that it was coming from the door that led to the outside world because if there had been a knock like that from inside, it was every girl for herself and Lia would have been the first on out the door. Hell, she probably wouldn’t have even bothered with going to her mother’s house, she probably would have just ran all the way to Florida to hide in her father’s hotel room.
Lia looked over at Dakota to see if she’d heard it to, to confirm that she wasn’t scaring herself into hearing things that weren’t happening but the look on Kota’s face confirmed that she’d heard it took. Getting up, Lia went to the blinds and parted it slightly. She couldn’t see any foreign cars or any mode of transportation which would have assisted in anyone coming to visit. Biting her lip, she looked back at Kota again before grabbing the bat that her father made her keep behind the door in the event that she was staying alone and she slowly pulled open the door, gripping the bat tightly and looking around on her empty doorstep.
Fuck. They were being haunted.

weighing his options for a moment, he moved his thumbs across the screen keyboard, sending the message off, ”sounds like a lot of fun babe. hope you have a good night, I’m beat and my bed is calling to me.” |
which was a complete lie but lia would never know that until her heart would be beating out of her chest. flipping over, falling on his back onto the floor and letting out a wince, the male grabbed the sweater off the chair which happened to be all black and easy to sneak around in the shadows with. his dark wash jeans would help to be a cover as well but the white t-shirt underneath was something that made him stand out so he zipped the sweater up completely and pocketed a small camera into the large pocket. the relative that he was staying with was locked away in the office of the house and leon was sure that he would not be missed. the beachfront was a nice touch for the boy when he was bored but the fact that once again, he was attention starved made him act out in ways such as this. grabbing the keys off the hook, leon walked out the front door and put his hood up, moving into the cover of night. her house was not too far away, walking distance due to the fact that it too was on the beachside of the neighborhood. it seemed that every light in the house was off except for two which he could only assume was where the girls were. he felt a ping of guilt, already aware of the movies that the girls w ere watching but this opportunity was too golden to just let it slip by. with a few strides up to the house, he gave the door a knock and then a kick before taking off for the side of the house, watching with interest from behind a bush that was keeping him well hidden for the time being. he noticed the light flood onto the porch as the door was swung open to reveal a petite girl. she was still quite adorable but that changed when he saw the weapon that was in her hand and his facial expression slowly morphed into a smirk with a side of panic. leon had no intention of getting a bat to the side of the head and he took off running around the side of the house, hitting and kicking the side of the house, banging on any window that appeared before he found the backdoor and gave it a kick. this time, the male moved further away from the door, the porch turning into sand as he hid in the darkness of the beach and pulled the camera from his pocket—poised and ready for the grand exit that either girl would be making.[/div]

THIS POST IS THE AMAZING AND WONDERFUL BOO AND BEE WITH HER CHARACTER, NATALIA & DAKOTA . oh, girls just wanna have fun [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto] Dakota didn't necessarily understand the concept of a 'slumber party' either. Well, tonight was more of just a sleepover since there was only two of them and it normally took more people to make a party. Frankly, even since Lia brought up the lingering question, Kota hadn't stopped thinking about it all night. She was literally trying to come up with other words or phrases to describe the girls night that they were having. Each task they performed, from painting nails to facial masks left the seventeen year old with a wandering mind. She was easily distracted by her own thoughts but couldn't understand why this one statement stuck with her. Maybe it was because she hadn't had a sleepover with anyone in ages. She use to love them as a little girl but instead of painting nails she would dress up or replace horror films with Disney movies. It really surprised Dakota at how so many things changed as she got older; like how she was no longer associated with girly things and resorted to an interest in theater art. She wasn't the high school cheerleader but the nerdy thespian with few close friends, which brought about another big difference; her relationships with the Twist twins.
Kota grew up with both kids but as a younger girl she stuck closer to DJ and grew apart for Lia. Now the roles were reversed and since her brother was no longer the boy she once knew, the seventeen year old spent more time with his sister. She didn't mind either way. She cared about both the twins but wished things could work out cohesively without any complications. If only life was that easy but either way, Dakota was enjoying herself tonight. At least when it came to scary movies. Being a high school actress, she knew better than anyone that nothing displayed on the screen was real. At times, she even giggled to herself out how poorly acted some scenes were in the Paranormal Activity movies. The second sequel was hardly comparable to the first and was even worse than the third but she kept her words limited. At least what minor rants she had about the execution of a movie they put in helped ease the tension in the air. Two girls, alone in a house while watching scary movies was a receipt for disaster, especially when ones senses becomes strangely enhanced when the adrenaline was pumping.
During the midst of the most recent movie they attempted to sit threw, strange things begun to happen and everything became so much more realistic when there was a banging on the door. Kota thought maybe she had been hearing things but it was obvious by the look on Lia's face that her ears were not deceiving. "Are you kidding me?" She stood from the couch as she her friend grabbed a bat and headed for the door. "See, this is why people get killed in the movies. You don't go investigating strange noises!" Dakota stood a rightful distance from the door as she watch Lia's figure on the porch. "Maybe it was the wind?" She suggested before hearing banging against the side of the house and against the back door. She screamed like a little girl and ran for the kitchen. She grabbed the first thing in sight and held up a pan as she looked to Lia. "I am not the one that gets killed in this movie!" She said as if their life one big fictional story. Not shadows in the moonlight night, not rustling of trees, not even a car on the street. She frowned and walked backwards to the door with the bat still extended like a blade. Natalia had made it back into the door and had successfully locked it up and shut off the porch light when banging occurred from behind her causing her to scream with fright, drop the bat and crumple down to the ground, covering her head. As the banging moved away from her, she opened her eyes again, and rolled to her knees, looking towards the kitchen which led to the backyard from the safety of the stairs. Her wide eyes fell on Dakota and she nodded. ”That’s the iron one right?” she asked, just in case it was a ghost.
Oh Natalia, you’ve been watching far too much Supernatural but seriously? Jared and Jensen? Yes please.
At this point, Lia was ready to get the salt out and salt the windows and doors just to be safe. And if she ran out of salt, she would try other seasonings to keep herself safe. Biting her lip, she collected the bat and crawled over to Dakota. ”Do you think it’s out back?” She asked, her eyes going over to the salt shaker on the counter. There was a much larger container in the cabinet but this was the easiest accessible so she crawled over to the table, bouncing up quickly to grab the Minnie Mouse shaker and duck back down beneath the window. Of course the lights were on in her house and the shades open so anyone outside who was looking, saw what she did.
Looking across to Dakota, she took a deep breath and combat crawled to the door, pouring a thin line of salt across the jamb. ”Ok, I’m doing to open the door and then we will see what comes in. Be ready to bash it with the pan.” She said with a nod, rocking to her feet and curling her fingers around the knob. ”One, Two….WHAT?” She turned from the door, looking at Dakota, the girl’s words finally sinking int. ”I am not dying in this movie either!” She declared but her hand missed the memo and turned the knob anyway. Fate was cruel because a gust of wind caught Lia by surprise and pulled the door open and she stumbled behind it back out into the night air.

he said in a low voice, trying to make his usual tone and even more so, his accent, undetectable. a roar of laughter came from him, causing the camera to shake as the door was fully opened and natalia was screaming something at dakota although it was hard to make out. raising an eyebrow as he took a step closer to the small girl, his hand reaching out for her while he gave the camera a snap, letting a flash blind her vision for just a moment. the moment was captured on camera, his objective had been reached and now, it was his turn to reveal himself. dropping the camera from his face, allowing his features to be seen in the light and although he could not tell if she had been able to see him with the dots that were most likely clouding her vision, leon was able to see everything clear now. he saw the thin white line infront of the door and as a result, his eyebrow raised with a shake of his head, ”did you think I was a vampire or something?” he asked as his arms wrapped around her middle and he brushed a strand of hair from her face, the obstruction of her tresses should not have been a problem anymore but the dots could very well because the flash had been a powerful one. ”or is it werewolves..” he finally let his natural accent flow though, not thinking to cover it as he raised a hand to raise as Dakota from the door, ”heeey kota. really? a pan?” he asked releasing natalia from his grip and chuckling as he lifted the camera once more time, snapping both of their shocked expressions on film before chuckling, ”heres a tip, don’t tell a boy that you are home alone watching scary movies love…it leads to trouble.” which was finished with a light chuckle, seating himself on the bottom step of the back porch and positioning his elbow on his knee, tilting his head as he looked up to her, ”should I run?” he asked, eyes flitting from girl to girl, waiting for a retaliation with either words or the blunt objects that were tightly grasped in their hands.[/div]

THIS POST IS THE AMAZING AND WONDERFUL BOO AND BEE WITH HER CHARACTER, NATALIA & DAKOTA . oh, girls just wanna have fun [atrb=border,0,true] [style=width: 250px; height: 290px; padding: 0px 5px 0px 5px; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11px; text-align:justify; color: #333; line-height: 99%; overflow: auto] Dakota couldn’t help the small smile that formed across her lips as Natalia referred to the show Supernatural. It was no secret that the two friends had been fans since the first season and despite missing a few episodes here and there, the seventeen year old was still very loyal to the plot. She hadn’t even thought about using an iron pan, just in case their intruder was an evil spirit but to her luck she had grabbed the right weapon. The girl sat with her back against the kitchen counter and watched her friend create a barrier of salt for their protection. “I don’t know but it better stay out there whatever it is,” she balled her fists around the handle of the pan, tightening her grip as she said this. Being the movie buff she was, Kota knew that checking to see what was making the noise was still a bad idea. There was one too many horror movies that she could recall when the girl who went looking for answers ended up six feet below the ground; or chopped up into pieces and have her body parts spread around the city. That was more referring to Criminal minds though.
Before she could really protest to Lia’s idea the door was already open, causing her eyelids to close shut. She was really being a terrible backup and side kick to her friend but if she was going to die then she’d prefer to see great memories flash before her eyes than the eyes of her killer. After a few moments, the tension in Dakota’s face eased when she heard laughter coming from outside. Even with her eyes closed, she could see a flash of light and it left her with confusion. It wasn’t long before she mustered up the courage to look around and come back to reality. From her view inside, she could barely make out the person who didn’t belong at their sleepover but knew instantly who it was when she heard his voice. Before she could recover and hide the pan from Leon, he snapped another picture from his camera. “Any evil thing really,” she replied to his questions about vampires and werewolves. Kota used the counter to stand back up and bashfully smiled in his direction when he mentioned the pan. “I was just going to make omelets…” that was a complete lie but she said it for fun.
All the fear she had just moments ago was completely gone. She even allowed herself to laugh over the whole ordeal. She had to give it to him; he played a really good prank on them and apparently gotten what he wanted out of it. Well, at least most of what he wanted. Dakota momentarily watched how the boy held her friend before looking around the kitchen. “I’ll just leave you two and make my omelet.” Now that she was thinking about food, she was actually hungry. She hadn’t been prepared for a ghost that had a blinding flash like that. Of course, Dean and Sam had never faced one of those so maybe that was why. Lia was still seeing spots when Leon wrapped his arm around her waist and brushed her hair back. She made a face at his voice, rubbing her eyes in an attempt to clear the spots to confirm her suspicions. ”Dammit!” She said, giving the man a little punch with her tiny fist. It probably didn’t hurt but if it conveyed aggravation, it did its job. ”Are you trying to kill me Leon? Or was that a suicide mission?” She asked, huffing at him a bit. Her heart was racing and if the antics had continued on for a few moments longer, Lia was surely to be crying on the phone and begging her dad to come back home. Oh yes, she was so brave.
Lia was recovery as Leon teased them about their defensive tactics. She could have died. Well ok, no she couldn’t have but still. She thought she was going to die. If movies taught her anything, it was the investigating the unknown either got you famous or got you killed. Lia was perfectly content with being neither of these things. Living was good and if she wasn’t famous, she’d survive. Her stomach churned a bit from all the excitement and she gave Leon another little push. She wasn’t mad at him for pulling his prank, but she’d been scared shitless. ”If I’d known you were going to be a prat, I probably wouldn’t have told you.” She insisted, musing a hand through her soft hair as she exhaled a bit. Opening her mouth to say something, she paused and turned to look at Kota. Her face made it clear that this was the first time she’d heard anything about making omelets.
But she didn’t call her friend’s bluff. Friends just did not do that to other friends.
”Running would probably be advisable but I’m not going to pummel you just yet…” She threatened. Yea, she was probably really scary with her slender, five foot three frame. ”Might as well come inside. If my dad shows up early, you’ll get your pay back.” She grinned threateningly to him, taking his hand to pull him inside. ”Kota’s making omelets.” She laughed a little, wrinkling her nose. She didn’t want omelets this late. No, what she wanted was a funnel cake with a pile of powdered sugar on it. Oh…that sounded yummy. ”Anyone know where I can get a funnel cake from?” She blurted, looking between them seriously. If she could drive to the nearest amusement park or fair for one, she would at this point because that sounded amazing.
