. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 895 , SHIRTLESS AND GYM SHORTS , AWWW <3 the class was just like all the others except, it wasn’t. the male could not take his eyes off pai and he was unsure of the reason why—well that’s not true, the male knew exactly why but he was trying to ignore the feelings that had developed alongside of his relationship with her. the male had learned that there was more to the cut throat girl than being cut throat, she was hurting, she was angry, she was vulnerable and that made her all the more beautiful. she was not a china doll but she could shatter like one in the right situation and that made dmitri want to both protect her, and enforce her learning. his eyes had be forced away from her form so that he could continue to teach the class until he let them go off and condition on the mats and the ring that was set up in the center of his gym. in the meantime, dmitri was doing conditioning of his own with an old pal who was visiting from russia and was actually helping dmitri out with the rather large class size. it used to be just one class, now he was teaching five because they were growing too large for him to handle and since dmitri was the only coach, he could not find the time for so many people. recently, new coaches had been popping in and out in an attempt to steal the open slots that he had advertised but dmitri could not part with the idea of not actually running the gym on his own anymore. he was far too independent for that now and he knew that he had grown an attachment to the gym—or maybe the idea of bringing in new faces was enough to break the male’s heart. he dedicated his life to the gym in every aspect including it being his home as his apartment was the next floor above but looking around at the large amount of men and women that were training, dmitri was starting to see the reason for another coach.
the class finally ended and the different girls came up to ask him questions that he found irrelevant but he answered them anyway. it was the same thing everytime and dmitri slightly hated the fact that his appearance was what got him this many girls to sign up for his class but at the same time, it paid his bills so he shouldn’t actually be complaining. ”pai.” [/b] he spoke, approaching the girl with his hands behind his back and giving her a smile, ”good job today. you really improved since coming here..”[/b] he spoke with professionalism but really, he just wanted to talk to her. leaning in a little closer, he tried to make his words a little more hushed so no one passing by would hear, ”if you want to visit the cat..you are more than welcomed to.”[/b] lord knows that he wanted her to come up to the apartment and see the cat, and him. he would be the last one to admit that he cared for the under aged girl that forced her way into his life and he gladly let into his heart after getting to know her. the cat was driving him nuts though as he was not an animal person and found it hard to keep the creature alive as it seemed to be at the vet every other day. two days ago, the tiny cat did not like the food that he put into her bowl and instead had taken to eating his stomach which resulted in her stomach being pumped and she vomited every bit of fabric that had been ingested. now the cat was recovering and mewing for attention all the time and dmitri could only give the cat so much love for so much time. ”she’s still recovering though so…we got to be careful with her but I’m sure the cat would not mind a pai hug..”[/b] he grinned before walking away and proceeding to comment to a few other girls about their performance. he was being paid to coach, so a little constructive criticism wouldn’t hurt anyone. finally the gym began to be emptied out and he gave paisley a small smile before moving up the steps, shedding his shirt halfway up to his apartment. he tossed the sweat covered shirt into the laundry basket on the floor only to hear the cat meowing already but he could not see the small kitten. sighing softly, he began to click his tongue and looked in her favorite spots but found that the cat was nowhere to be seen—but she could be heard. ”really cat..really?...”[/b] he muttered under his breath. he was half tempted to leave the cat to find it’s way out of whatever spot that it found itself in but at the same time—this was pai’s cat, this was their cat and he was not going to be a good owner if he left the cat to it’s own devices. ”come on out..please..”[/b], his rough accent contrasting with the tone that he was attempting to use before he heard the mew again, getting on his hands and knees and began to crawl around the apartment in search the cat, finding each step brought him that much closer to the cat’s location. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 978 / ps. haha cute she had to admit she was guilty. paying attention to what dmitri was saying during class was getting harder and harder with each and every day. then again, she was sure half of the females in this class were pretty much in the same state as her, so really, it wasn't her fault. she wasn't that guilty. could you blame her though? he just had that deep throated voice that just made all the girls met. it didn't help that every class he was half naked with his toned abs and muscled arms on display for everyone to see. to be honest, she was surprised that man was still single. she would have snatched him a long time ago if it weren't for his stupid fucking morals. occasionally she would catch him staring at her as if he wanted her, but that couldn't be right because he was hellbent on saying that she was still illegal. she had just turned nineteen last month, and while she wasn't legal to drink alcohol, she was legally an adult. she didn't know what was stopping him. maybe she just didn't do it for him. maybe she just wasn't that girl that fit his criteria. maybe he wasn't single after all. but that wouldn't make sense either because if he had a girlfriend, he wouldn't be spending so much time in the gym, or asking her to come over so she could take care of their cat. if he had someone else, it wouldn't be their cat, it would be his and his girlfriend's cat. and the thought of him owning the cat with someone else brought on a surge of emotions that she didn't think she'd ever feel. jealousy. it was an ugly little thing that often showed the worst in everyone, and even though paisley never thought she would be jealous of anyone, she admitted that she just naturally hated any woman that got to be called dmitri's girl.
mainly because she wanted to be that girl. god, she sounded so pathetic. but she couldn't help how she felt, now could she? although anything between them would never happen. he insisted that he was too old and she was too young. she could imagine though - just like she did with the kiss he had given her at the hospital. at least she thought she dreamt it. she wasn't entirely sure. the two weeks that she had spent in the hospital were a bit of a haze. she couldn't, for the life of her, differentiate what really happened and what hadn't. she knew, for certain, that kale, charles and their gang had come in and attacked, and that dmitri had defended her. she knew that was true because she had to give a statement to the police when her mind was a little less groggy from the morphine. but everything before and after that were mixed between reality and dreams. she wasn't sure if the kiss on her lips had been reality or a dream, and it wasn't exactly like she could just bring it up - just in case it really was a dream. she didn't want to make things awkward for him. all she knew was that it felt oh so good to have his warm lips on hers. such a gentle kiss for something that set her entire body on fire. it ignited something primal in her, and she yearned for another kiss from him day after day even though she knew it was just wishful thinking. she was pulled out of her thoughts when his familiar voice called her name. she stopped the punching bag from shaking due to her kicks before she turned to him with a smile, something that seemed to happen more and more often these days, "thanks coach. good to know i'm not disappointing you." the last thing she needed was another one of his lectures on how she was reckless and blah blah blah.
her heart skipped slightly when he leaned closer to her, his aftershave filling her nose. she grinned, "i would love to." she chuckled, "i'll deny it if you say anything, but i have to admit.... i miss her like crazy." the words 'and you' were dancing on the tip of her tongue, but she held it in. she pursed her lips, "my poor baby girl. although, that's what she gets for being so stubborn and not eating proper food." her heart nearly broke when she first heard that their cat had to be brought to the vet because she had ate a sock. it was near impossible to think that a girl like paisley could ever feel so strong towards an animal. you would think she didn't have that caring nature in her, but as much as she didn't want to admit it, she loved the cat to death. she couldn't help it. she had grown on the dark haired girl. and while she wasn't naturally an animal person, taking care of her and dmitri's cat seem to come more naturally to her. she watched as dmitri moved on to talk to other people the class before returning to her punching bag. it was only a matter of time before the class ended and dmitri was leaving for his apartment, not before sending a smile her way. she was just grabbing her gym bag and making up the stairs towards dmitri's apartment when her baby snuggled around her leg. she chuckled, dropping her bag to the floor and sitting down with her legs crossed, picking her up and settling her on her lap, petting the small animal. the cat purred against her touch, mewing a few times. she looked up when she saw dmitri on all fours, probably trying to find their cat, and she couldn't help herself but grin, glancing down at their cat, "look who found us?!"

. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 873 , SHORTS AND T-SHIRT , HE'S SO IFFY.. sweat was dripping off his forehead and he basically felt disgusting and sweaty and yet, he could feel the eyes on him as he walked from girl to girl to explain the performance that they were displaying. he is trying to be attentive to each of the girls but as he approached paisley, he felt his mouth grow dry as he took in her short spandex shorts and pink sports bra. she looked amazing even after his more active workout that involved constant moving and not a lot of rest. he had begun the conversation lightly, doing exactly what he did with every other girl that had talked to as dmitri had to keep his appearance up and show that she was not that special to him. but she was and that was what caused his mouth to grow dry and his words to be considered before just spilling out of his mouth. they shared a feline together in ownership now, and he had stupidly kissed her when she had been too drugged to remember—something that he still kicks himself for. he felt like he had taken advantage of her when he had stolen the kiss as she appeared to have no real memory of it and dmitri was not about to bring it up. ”good.” [/b] he said, placing his arms behind his back and giving her a nod. he was turning stoic as people passed by and watched their interaction carefully, was it that obvious that there was something between them? ”wel she is driving me crazy..”[/b], giving a deep chuckle while shaking his head to the last couple of nights that involved very little sleep due to the recovering kitten. ”I swear I’m feeding her everything that the vet said, she just has a taste for cotton I suppose..”[/b] as that was the material of the sock that was ingested by the small cat and still dmitri had no idea how that even occurred. he had turned away from paisley to head up the steps as the gym began to empty out, and had been too lost in his thought of a shower awaiting him to notice that he had stepped right over the mewing kitten. the feline was in constant need of company, she had to be loved and care for and yet, dmitri tried his best and the biggest reason was would be the ownership shared between the two. he wanted the cat to stay alive as it was a huge connection between the two of them besides their attraction to one another and the fact that she was in his class. he had stepped into the apartment and looked around for the small kitten but was unsuccessful and could just hear the mewing coming from a general direction. his eyes narrowed followed by his brows furrowing and he shook his head, ”cat..”[/b] as that was the english translation for the cat’s name and he was unsure if the creature was even aware of her name. he just could hear her but was unable to locate her and it drove him crazy as he was suddenly on his hands and knees, trudging through the small upstairs apartment and searching under surfaces such as the bed and the tables. he thought she was small enough but could not fit into the dvd player slot or anything—she was not that small. suddenly he heard the voice of an angel and picked his head up slowly from his spot on the floor to see the kitten was nestled in pasiley’s arms and he was still on the ground. ”oh good, she was found.”[/b], clearing his throat while standing, he gave her a nod before shaking his head, ”I’m going to go shower. you can always go after..”[/b] he commented before giving her a nod and walking into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. he shed his clothes and hopped into the shower rather quickly, he washed the sweat off the body and refreshed his body with a shake of his head as the water rushed down his face. he climbed out of the shower after a couple of minutes and wrapped the towel around his body, searching the bathroom for a change of clothes, ”shit..”[/b] he muttered before slowly opening the door and walking towards the dresser with only a towel wrapped around his torso. he tried not to pay attention to the company in his room as he searched the drawers for shorts to change into and grabbed a shirt while he was at it. ”sorry for the mess..”[/b] he finally turned his head to look at her and retreated back into the bathroom. quickly changing and walking back out as he hung up the towel on the door and then turned to paisley, ”you can shower if you want.”[/b]. dmitri moved across the apartment and got the small bowl off the counter, filling it with both wet and dry cat food as he was told to do before he quickly mixed everything together and placed it onto the floor the table, ”I don’t have much to eat but are you hungry? or want a water?”[/b] he asked while moving to the couch and sitting down beside her. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 984 / ps. haha cute paisley had to force herself to tear her eyes off of dmitri's body. something about him being half naked and sweaty just made her mouth dry and heart race. really, all she wanted to do was rake her fingers down his chest and back and just feel those muscles beneath her fingers. she shook her head slightly, peeved at her own dirty mind before sending a roundhouse kick at the punching bag. the last thing anyone needed was for her to jump dmitri in the middle of gym floor mat. so instead, she concentrated on the punching bag in front of her, putting all her energy into it, trying to get rid of some frustration in her body. she was way too sexually frustrated for her own good. normally, she would be relieved by sean's company, but he had been awol lately and she wasn't about to find someone else because really, no one was going to meet her expectations at this point. only one person caught her interest, and he clearly did not want her in the least bit. so she would just have to settle with letting her frustrations out elsewhere. although, she was pretty exhausted from today's rather intense training and work out. nothing she couldn't handle, of course, but she probably shouldn't exert as much energy as she was doing at the moment. still, she needed something to distract herself from fawning over dmitri like all the other girls in the class. it was difficult, though, especially when she knew the other girls were whispering about him, gossiping with one another. and, like usual, she was the one surrounded by empty space. it probably made her seem like a lonely, but she actually preferred being alone than surrounded by girls who only cared about superficial things and gossiping. she came to class to learn, not to make friends and giggle about silly things.
although, she guessed it wasn't really silly things if she was thinking the same. she just wasn't voicing any of her thoughts out to the girls. she sent one more kick to the firm sandbag before turning her attention to dmitri. her healing ankle was much better than before, but knowing herself, if she didn't force herself to not practice her kicks so often, she would injure it again. still, though, keeping her ankle safe was the ankle brace's job. there were times she overworked it and had to pay the price when she got home, but they weren't too often, and she was sure to keep her lips shut around dmitri. god knows he'd bench her again if he knew that her ankle was aching- even if it was just a dull throb. he fussed about the littlest of things. she gave him a firm nod when he replied with a nonchalant good, half tempted to roll her eyes at him. that was dmitri in a nutshell. he was all about professionalism and morals. she was aware of the audience that was trying to be subtle, but she didn't give them the satisfaction of knowing that it bothered her. didn't they know that eavesdropping was rude and that she was trying to have a private conversation? you didn't see her listening in on your conversations. at least not purposely anyways. it seemed that whatever she did with dmitri, it automatically piqued the interest of everyone around them. she didn't know what was so interesting. they were simply having a conversation about nothing in particular. it wasn't like they were discussing secret getaways or midnight escapades. although she had to admit she's thought about it. she smiled at the way he chuckled, the sound of it echoing in her ears, "well maybe she's just picky about what she eats. you have to try different flavours of food before you find what she likes." she said even though she was no expert on animals either. she's never owned a pet before.
though, for someone who's never had a pet before, she was handling the ownership of her and dmitri's cat pretty well. the feline seemed to like her company and was rather attached to her whenever she visited. she couldn't complain though because the small animal was growing on her. she loved having the kitten in her arms, just purring in satisfaction and contentment like she was doing now. she had to suppress a giggle when she saw dmitri on all four's, grinning at him, "actually, she found me." she told him before glancing down at their cat, cooing, "ain't that right baby?" she let her chuckle escape before nodding, "yeah, sure." she replied even though she wanted nothing more than to say, "or we can save water and the both of us can shower together." but she bit her lip and said nothing as she watched his retreating figure. she stood as she made way onto the couch, content with just rubbing the cat's belly. she glanced upwards when she heard the door open, only to see a very handsome, very wet dmitri emerging from the bathroom in nothing but a towel. she flushed, diverting her attention back to the cat. she rolled her eyes at him, "i wouldn't call this a mess, d. don't be so ocd." she teased, daring a glance at him before setting the cat down on the ground and getting up. "i think i'm good with the food. i will take up that offer on a shower though. however, i didn't bring a change of clothes.... so uh..." she cleared her throat awkwardly, "would you mind it if i just borrowed your clothes?" if this was sean, she wouldn't even asked. she'd just raid his drawers for a pair of boxers and a t-shirt, but sean and dmitri were complete opposites, and her relationship with d seemed pretty much strictly platonic, so it was probably better that she asked. just in case.

. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 954 , SHORTS AND T-SHIRT , HE'S SO IFFY.. his knees ached as he moved across the apartment floor, searching under the crevices of the couch and in the cabinets, he even checked the slot of the dvd player in order to see if the cat had slipped in there even though he knew it was too big to actually squeeze through there. now he was more of a concerned owner as he began to produce sounds by smacked his lips together or clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth and that was when he heard the mewing. he raised an eyebrow and his eyes slowly travelled up from the shoes that were infront of him, along the long legs, up the fit body and met the eyes of paisley. ”she did that on purpose..” [/b] he grumbled as he slowly stood up and reached to stroke the kitten’s ears before shaking his head and heading towards the bathroom after announcing that a shower was well needed because after a workout and then crawling on the floor, it was. he chuckled as he heard her cooing to the soft kitten and he shook his head, wondering if she could be that gentle with another human being. the cat was a link though, it connected the two of them except for the obvious attraction that was magnetized between them but dmitri was not going to give into the pull, he couldn’t. he had to stop himself every time he even began to think that he could but it was becoming harder and harder as the days passed and she was maturing in both personality and her looks. he had met her when she was seventeen and now, she was legal—it would be legal and he would not feel as much of a pedophile but yet, their friendship was growing too and was that what was stopping him now? no. the age difference was the reminder that they would never work out, his morals were too strong and though she was stubborn in her own right, dmitri was sure that her moral compass was not pointed toward north all the time like his was. the water washed over his body while his thought continue to roll while his shoulders did at the same time. he felt tense whenever he was finished a workout and was unsure of how to fix himself now that he was tensed. a massage? but that would mean asking someone, or having his kitten coddle the skin around his tense muscles as she seemed to enjoy doing when he was trying to sleep and she wanted attention. the kitten was a nuisance but there was a good reason why he had never given away besides the connection that it gave paisley and himself, he had actually grown attached to it. he was worried when he found his half eaten sock and rushed her to the vet’s, interrupting the vet’s own sleep in order to make the kitten throw up the cotton material. he was baffled and worried that he had killed the small kitten with a sock that he had carelessly left around. the water had to be shut off no matter how good it felt while he reminded himself that he had company and it was enjoyable company too. the towel was wrapped around his waist as he walked out, moving to his dresser and chuckled as he heard her, ”my ma told me that everything should sparkle when a lady was in the room…and well, this place is kind of dull”[/b] and it was living proof that no girl actually came up to his apartment no matter how hard they tried. he had retreated back into the bathroom in order to change quickly, walking out while tugging the material of the vneck t-shirt over his head and feeling it stick to his still wet body as he had not taken the time to properly dry himself off. ”oh yea no problem, I got some shirts in the dresser and ..smaller shorts in the bottom drawer.”[/b], pointing to the two locations before he scooped the kitten into his arms and moved into the kitchen. he was not going to be able to stand it if she came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and nothing else. dmitri had self control but he was still a male and the hormones were almost unbearable enough while she was around. he wished that he could be honest with her, tell her how he really felt and just let the chips fall where they may. he had initiated the first kiss and he had high doubts that she did not even remember it, or she thought it was a dream. the girl was drugged enough off the hospital drugs at the time and dmitri felt horrible about it because he had taken advantage of her when she was most vulnerable, scared and nearly violated by a bunch of teenage boys that would never touch her again and dmitri had made sure of that. he had poured out two glasses of juice and gave the small kitten a saucer of water to help ease her stomach a little while dropping her medicine to dissolve into the liquid. ”good girl..”[/b] he muttered, bending down to stroke the cat’s back as she started in on her water, lapping it up and then staring at dmitri with small, sad eyes. ”I know what you are thinking…no, it’s not happening..no..”[/b] he muttered as the cat looked as though it was questioning why he was here and not in the bathroom with paisley, or maybe that was what dmitri just happened to be wondering himself. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 989 / ps. heh cute paisley probably should have said something whens he saw dmitri on all fours, trying to look for the cat. she had heard him crawling through his apartment and making cat and random noises, trying to draw cat in, but she had to admit that she enjoyed watching him. it was an adorable sight to see. mainly because it was so not expected of a man that was stern, who stood with his back straight and shoulders back, who claimed to hate animals. he was a contradiction at the moment and it was highly amusing to the nineteen year old. she felt slightly guilty for keeping her mouth shut, but hey, no harm was really done right? it wasn't like she was filming this to put online or show it to the rest of her classmates. it was simply for her own entertainment. really, she was being nice about this. there were a million ways that she could torture him with just the way he was on the floor. she chuckled, "whatever you say d." she shook her head, a smile still clearly on her lips as he petted the cat before turning to retreat back to the bathroom. she barely caught onto the fact that she was coddling the cat and acting very unlike herself. she would have never lived it down if anyone else were to see her now. in fact, she'd have a hard time showing her face. she didn't like having people know that she actually cared. that she had the capability to be a nurturing person that wasn't just some bitch who's always stirring up trouble. really, she wasn't that kind of person, but it was fun. she would never show that she was capable of being gentle towards anyone else. much like the fact that she would never let anyone ever see her cry. but, of course, that was pretty much shot out of the list because dmitri had seen her cry. much to her embarrassment. she blamed the drugs, really. that was going to be forever her excuse. that the drugs made her emotional.
then again, he had seen almost every side of her already. he had seen her rage, he had seen her weak, he had seen her cry, lash out, and just all around be irrational. he had been the only person to ever see that many sides of herself that she usually kept hidden. and he was probably the only person that she would ever let see the vulnerable side of her. not even her own mother had seen that side of her. then again, she was different back then. back when her mother was still by her side. she was only a little girl. it was hard to believe that she was sweet and kind at one point in her life. everyone around her, those who didn't know her like dmitri or valencia did, would only think of her as some cold-hearted bitch that stuck her nose in people's business. and maybe she was that person. but that wasn't all she was. she had her moments. if you were the right person, she would show you that same kind of sweetness that she once possessed. but she swore to herself that she would never break down like that again. once was enough. she would not allow herself to cry in front of anyone- even if she was drugged. there was no excuse. not even if that excuse was dmitri. because let's admit it. she has been legal for a while now and he still hadn't show the slightest bit of interest in her. there was only so many hints that she needed before she realizes that he doesn't see her that way. really, she shouldn't even be here in his apartment now. she was only setting herself up for false hopes. to him, she would still always be too young for him. there would always be that age difference. and if he can't get it through to his head that she was more than legal now, she wasn't sure when he would be able to. and to be honest, she wasn't sure if she wanted to wait. she was not a patient person, and dmitri was clearly testing it.
she scoffed at him, rolling her eyes, "well good thing i'm no lady then huh?" she asked, sending him a playful wink before flopping down on the couch while he went to go take his shower. it took an immense amount of self control for her to not go in the shower with him, but she knew that if she did join him, she might look like a creeper and that was the last thing she wanted dmitri to think of her as. she could hardly tell what he was thinking half the time, let alone understand what he thought of her. he was hard to read, and unfortunately for her, way too good at hiding behind that wall of his for his own good. she nodded as she placed their cat on the floor gently, and then proceeding to grab a rather large t-shirt and a pair of smaller shorts, slipping into the bathroom and turning the shower on. she hadn't realized just how sore her muscles were until the hot water hit her body. her mostly healed ankle was what was the most sore. she had clearly worked it too hard, but she ignored it as she took her shower. after a good ten minutes, she stepped out and changed into dmitri's clothes, the hem of his t-shirt just barely touching her knees. she let her hair out of the ponytail, letting it cascade down past her shoulders as she stepped out of the bathroom, her slight limp barely noticeable. she raised an eyebrow at dmitri, "are you talking to yourself or the cat, d? should i be worried?" she mused teasingly, a small grin on her face.

. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 1124, SHORTS AND T-SHIRT , CONFESSION HOUR the grey eyes of the cat were staring up at him as he stroked the fur to convince the cat that it needed to eat. it was a bit between the two of them where he would physically start begging for her to eat and then she would oblige, and the cat knew just how to test dmitri’s limits. he had pretty high limits in the form of what he could take but the constant mewing, his own cooing, feeding the thing, giving it water, making sure it was healthy and happy was a lot of hard work and this is why dmitri always thought of himself as loner. he had no idea how to make a cat happy, how was he going to make a person happier? it was not possible in his mind as he continued to stroke the kitten’s fur, he had to ignore the sounds of the shower running and keep his mind focused and disciplined on the task at hand. ”cat, come on..” [/b] he spoke with a thick broken english accent that he used when he was frustrated, a tone that paisley had heard a lot. he could hear the cat purring as his bony fingers ran across the small back and finally, the kitten bent down to eat the food which caused dmitri to rise off his haunches and find a spot on the chair. he had to keep himself occupied lest he would be joining, or looking for an excuse to join the female in the bathroom and that would be both inappropriate and very unmoral of himself but paisley had a way of making him want to throw all of those morals out the window and he did not have the slightest clue as to why. he picked his head up as he heard the sound of the bathroom door opening and tilted his head to the side as he noticed the slight limp, he was a coach, it was his job to notice these things. ”you’re hurt.”[/b] he said not with an infliction but with a determination to his tone as he stood up from his spot and moved closer to her. ”and no need to be worried, just trying to get the thing to eat..”[/b] he muttered while taking his hands onto her shoulders and slowly guided her backward toward the couch. he had to behave, he had to keep his hands only on her ankle and he had to stay focused. ”sit.”[/b] he commanded and gave her a light shove which he hoped would sent her into the soft couch cushions as he wondered into the bathroom, grabbing for the athletic tape. returning only moments later, he kneeled down at her feet, grabbing for her bare foot and giving her ankle a slight roll, testing the limits. ”why didn’t you tell me you were injured?”[/b] he finally gritted out, annoyed by the fact that she believed that she was invincible. dmitri knew first hand, seen the tears as proof, that the girl was not at all as tough as she made herself out to be and she was actually quite broken and he wanted nothing more than to help piece her back together. pulling the end of the tape, he attached the sticky side to her skin and slowly began to roll the purple tape around her ankle, pushing at the pressure points that would hopefully help with the slight swelling. the wrapping was done and he light stretched her foot, pushing down and then up at the balls of her feet in order to give her ankle some flexibility against the tape, but not too much. ”of course you are the girl to keep everything to herself until she ends up in the hospital. …tell me the next time you are injured, I won’t announce it to the class.”[/b] he said finally standing up after giving her leg a pat. he tossed the athletic tape on the table and took a deep breath, looking down to see the kitten rubbing against his leg and he grimaced, moving away and toward the kitchen to grab something to drink. he could not get his mind off the girl on the couch as he nearly poured over the rim of his flass and had to empty some of it into the sink. he ran a hand over his face, rubbing at his eyes for a moment before finally taking a deep breath. he leaned against the counter and let the vent above him cool him down before stepping back into the living room and back into sight, handing her a glass, ”cool down.”[/b] he muttered, dropping into the spot next to her, the cat soon joining them. he could feel the guilt starting to gnaw itself into his stomach and he thought that maybe the gatorade would do something for it but all it did was cause his stomach was grumble and produce butterflies. he let out another sigh and leaned forward, placing the cup on the coffee table next to his feet and looked at the kitten lying between them. reaching over, he stroked the kitten’s head, lightly brushing his fingers down her back but also accidently, or purposely, brushed his finger against the fabric of his own shorts that hung loosely on paisley’s body. the cat was so close to her, and it was the best that he was going to do in keeping himself in check. ”…the kiss is something I can’t get off my mind. you were…well, drugged off morphine and I took advantage of you paisley. I’m sorry..”[/b] he said, lifting the cat from it’s spot and cradling it into his arms. he felt better until he picked his head up to look at her and then had to look away. he was not sure the wanted to see her reaction as he bit down on his own lip and looked down to the kitten that was now curled up in his arms and purring away. ”and, though I have grown attached to her, she is here for you. for you…to see me…because you invade my mind all the time.”[/b] he confessed once more, finally placing the cat back on the couch and standing up, needing to be able to walk away if he had to, ”but it’s wrong paisley. nothing we have done to or for one another has helped us..at all. it just..made the feelings that much more intense and it’s just..not right.”[/b] he spoke while rushing a hand through his hair. it was the same thing that he had been telling her for months but this time, his tone was hesitant and his words were cautious, tip-toeing around the truth of how much he actually wanted her. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 1040 / ps. she's pissed |: paisley mentally cursed to herself when dmitri noticed the limp. really, she shouldn't be surprised. she couldn't get away with much when it came to hide. there was nothing she could hide. he was very good at reading her, but she was also sure that if it was another girl in their class that was hurt, he would have easily noticed and taken care of her too. she wasn't going to go ahead and assume that she was special and that the gesture meant something like most story heroines did. she wasn't stupid. dmitri was just being himself. he was being nice. he was being her coach. simple as that. still, a part of her had to wonder if he'd go to such great measures for someone else even though it was barely an injury. it wasn't that she couldn't walk on it, it's just that her ankle still sent a small shot of pain through her leg every time she put pressure on it. he made it sound worst than it was. there was nothing to it. all she had to do later that night was ice it and then elevate while she slept and it would be good as new in the morning. she rolled her eyes at him, exasperated with his constant worry over her. if she didn't know any better, she would think that he had no idea she could take care of herself. "i'm fine." she muttered back, but sighed in defeat and let him guide her towards the couch anyways. "the thing has a name by the way. and don't pretend you don't secretly love her." she teased with a smirk, amusement glinting in her eyes. she saw the way he treated their cat, and it was clear to her that he was getting attached to their little kitty. she didn't put much resistance when he lightly pushed her down to sit on the couch, "so demanding." she said with a smirk, wondering if he was this dominant in bed. she shook her head slightly. she had to stay focused. he didn't think of her that way so she shouldn't have these thoughts. they weren't going to happen.
she gave dmitri little groans of protests as he disappeared to get athletic tape before coming back to check her range of motion. she bit down on her lower lip, trying not to make any noise or cringe when it got a little too much. she rolled her eyes defiantly, "i'm not injured. it's just sore." she said defensively. "there's nothing to tell." she added, shrugging. it was no big deal. it wasn't like this was the first time she's hurt herself before or pushed herself too hard. she knew she wasn't invincible despite popular belief. but just because dmitri has seen her weak side a few times, didn't mean she was the epitome of a damsel in distress either. she knew how to take care of herself. she pursed her lips at him, "one time. it was one time. i hadn't thought it was that bad okay?" how was she to know she was bleeding internally? she thought it was just broken ribs. nothing that wouldn't heal on its own. plus, it wasn't her fault she didn't like hospitals. within reason. and what was so wrong with keeping things to herself? people never gave her the benefit of the doubt to trust them. all they've ever done is betray her and gossip and abandon her. forgive her if she didn't really trust anyone, and that she would rather rely on herself than anyone else in the world. she leaned back against the couch as she kept her ankle elevated, sighing. sometimes dmitri was really driving her up a wall, and all she wanted to do was knock some sense into him. or better yet, knock his morals right out of him. she knew her moral compass wasn't exactly pointing north, but it wasn't like it was pointing south. if she was really using the compass analogy here, she would consider herself pretty north east. but what did she know. she wasn't the queen of what's right and what's wrong.
"thanks" she mumbled, taking the glass from him and taking a sip, feeling the cool liquid dripping down her throat. she tried not to notice the way dmitri's fingers felt as it ever so slightly grazed the sigh of her thigh while he petted their cat. the silence seemed to go on forever, but he was the first to break it. she glanced over at him when he mentioned the word 'kiss'. she stared at him before blinking slowly. did she really just hear what she thought she just heard? did he just tell her that he had kissed her? she smiled slightly to herself, relieved that she wasn't so desperate that she was fantasizing kisses from her coach. so it really wasn't a dream. she frowned slightly as he continued before she could respond. she invaded his mind? that sounded a lot like an intrusion that he didn't like or want. she didn't know whether to be glad that he thought about her all the time or be offended that he felt that way. paisley's fingers curled into fists by her side as he continued. him and his stupid morals. it was really getting on her nerves. especially since he was saying things like things they did weren't helping one another. suddenly, she just couldn't be there anymore. she stood up, glaring at him, "nothing we've done has helped one another? i don't know if you've noticed, but we didn't do anything immoral. all i've done is be your friend." she told him through clenched teeth, crossing her arms over her chest. she forced out a rather cynical and hurt laugh, "but whatever. if you really feel that whatever we have is "wrong" or "not right" then we can put an end to whatever it is that we have. this friendship, joint custody thing can end right here." she told him, moving to the washroom to gather the clothes she had come in and threw one more glance at him, "you can carry on with your moral train and i'll stay out of your hair."

. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 1124, SHORTS AND T-SHIRT , UNSURE OF WHAT THIS MEANS >_> he suddenly felt lost and insecure even though his abs were fully on display. he could not tell if she was ashamed to be standing in the same room as him or diverting her eyes in order not to drool but either one was bad. he was so conflicted about what he felt for the young girl and his morals conflicted with his feelings which gave him no lean way on the idea of walking out of her life because he couldn’t. as much as he hated to admit it, he was addicted to the brunette currently moving to the bathroom and he could not help but think about all the things that he wished he could do but then his mind stepped in even further and he pictured the police involved, parents being called, his place being shut down because to him, making a move would be that drastic of a change in his life. he had already kissed her which had triggered everything that he was feeling now into a tenfold from the original crush. ”well aware, it’s cat. i can call it cat for the translation of the name is exactly that..” [/b], unoriginal and slightly lazy in naming the feline, dmitri had admit that he had grown accustomed to the cat actually being in his life but he had grown more accustomed to the company that came with it. he hated not seeing her face day after day because it was a routine for him. he chuckled as he watched her come out of the bathroom and he could not but smirk. he was more controlling than demanding and it was something that he wished that he could free himself from but it was not a trait that would be disappearing anytime soon. shaking his head as he knelt down at her feet and inspected the ankle, rolling it and checking the range of motion, he shook his head, ”sore is injured. injured is something being out of place and causing pain.”[/b] or at least that was the definition in his book. he looked up to her, seeing her facial muscles tense as her jaw grew tighter and he shook his head, ”let it out if it hurts because if not then I’m benching you because I don’t know the extent.”[/b] and he did have the power to take that course of action and dmitri had used it not only on her, but anyone that even gave sight of a limp or a wince in his gym. shaking his head, ”one was enough, I don’t want to see it happen again.”[/b] he said sternly, giving her foot a pat as he finished wrapping her skin from her ankle to the point of halfway up her leg. she needed to have some kind of support and since she was not specific about where the injury was, he had to guess the location. he was sure that she was right because just touching her ankle had caused her to tense, he could even feel it in the muscles that were in her ankle and he knew it was hard for her to show weakness but he had already seen her drugged and crying—how much weaker could she get? he respected and scolded paisley for being so strong but so stubborn when it came to showing that she was in fact human and that she needed to take a break from time to time and this was one of those times. nodding to her, he stood up and tossed the table on the table only to drop onto the couch next to paisley and the cat soon joined her adoptive parents. ”it’s my job as a coach..”[/b], trying not to read too much into it because he knew that any girl that came to him that participated in his classes would get the same treatment as she did but the talk was something he would do without. he was the silent type when it came to his nursing skills with other girls because he was not exactly talkative in the first place but because he was not personal with them—paisley was a whole different story. he could not believe the words that were coming out of his mouth but he had to get it off his chest in fear of it eating away at him for much longer. ”…really paisley? so you are here right now to be a friend? you are coming to class, injured, to be a friend? that is not being a friend…that’s crushing. that’s feeling something because you want to see me and…I want to see you but I can’t!”[/b] he shouted at the end, slamming his fist into his side as a means to keep his walls from having a hole in them. he wanted her so badly right now, when she was fired up like this and he had caused it, which made everything worse. ”it is wrong. it’s completely wrong, I’m your coach! I’m supposed to be helping you, mentoring you, not…sharing a cat and letting you into my apartment, take a shower, be buddy buddy. that’s not how coaching works, this is…wrong, this goes against everything that I have stood for paisley and it kills me that you are so young and …”[/b] his voice trailed off, his eyes darkening for just a second before flashing back to normal. he thought about what his father would be thinking at this very instant and he could just imagine the disappointing look on his face, his mother shaking her head and his sister laughing at him for even having thoughts like this. he finally sighed as she moved away, turning to look at her as she bent over and tilting his head up with his hands on his hips while letting out a deep breath, ”I don’t want to hurt you paisley.”[/b] he muttered, finally dropping his head and closing his eyes, ”want to know how the hell I even got to America? I was in Russia for christ’s sake and all of a sudden I’m in myrtle beach! want to know why? I fell in love with a girl who destroyed me…”[/b] he growled out, the bitter still lingering in his voice, ”i met her when she was on vacation, I was smitten and I thought she was too. she asked me to follow her here and I did, two months were together before some American boy walked by and she trailed after him. married with three kids now.”[/b], his arms crossed as he looked over to her, ”how do I know that I’m even good enough for someone like you?”[/b] he finally admitted his worst fear out loud. his hand rushed through his hair and he shook his head out, pointing to the door, ”leave if you want.”[/b] he muttered while dropping back onto the couch. his accent was thick now, his feelings were being affected by a nostalgic memory and he wondered if she would be there when he ended up picking his head up from the ducked position, he sure hoped so. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: idk / ps. wuts gonna happen?! paisley was a confident kind of person. she walked down the street with her head held high, legs strutting like she owned the place. she didn't let a lot of things affect her- especially when it was something little like words of gossip or people trying to put her down. she didn't need people telling her she was beautiful because she already knew she was. she knew she had amazingly long hair and legs of a model. she knew that she could down a dozen quarter pounders from mcdonalds and still manage to not gain a pound. she knew she didn't have relatively big breasts, but they were average in its own terms. she knew she could pull off any outfit as long as she portrayed confidence from the inside out. however, it only took one person, one moment, to shatter every fibre of said confidence. dmitri had a way with making her feel like she was never enough. every time he brought up her age, that was another blow. every time he refused to do something with her was another kick. he made her feel like she needed to try harder to look prettier, to be better, to just be enough. but no matter what she did, she knew that she was just putting her efforts to waste. there was no way that a man like dmitri, who was so hellbent on his morals, would like someone whom was only nineteen, and worked on the other side of the moral compass. she was not going to change herself for him, she knew that much. but she has also noticed the subtle changes in herself. she was more cautions of what she said. occasionally- especially around him. usually, she would not censor herself. she didn't like censoring herself. but with him around, she was.... essentially, more of a good person. at least with him around, she would not pick fights with anyone or start anything. or at least, she tried not to.
she chuckled, rolling her eyes, "correct me if i'm wrong, but i specifically heard you call our cat 'the thing.' she teased with a satisfied smirk lurking on her lips. she knew they had gave their cat the most unoriginal name, but really, she just liked hearing dmitri speak russian. for some reason, she just found it incredibly sexy. she was sure that he could be lecturing her in russian, and her brain would still rewire into something entirely dirty. but at the same time, if anyone else spoke russian to her, she was sure she would just want to smack them. it was just weird, to say the least. but maybe it was because dmitri just had that deep sexy voice that many females love. and she, herself, was not immune to such a divine voice. she cringed slightly as he tested her ankle, barely catching anything he said before, but she had the gist of it. she rolled her eyes once more, a bad habit that was too hard to quit, "i'm fine! this is just the injured ankle from that time i was at the hospital. it's not injured, i just worked it too hard without realizing." she countered, pulling at her every self control to not 'hmph,' cross her arms, and pout. she scoffed, " you don't have to worry about that. i don't plan on ever having a second time." not if she could help it. she didn't like hospitals before, and that incident had given her even more reasons to not like it. she was never ever stepping into another hospital again unless it was absolutely necessary. like it was between life and death. and even then, that was really rather debatable. she knew dmitri wouldn't approve of her way of thinking because he thinks that he's already seen her weak side, and she shouldn't hold it back because of that. but for her, once was enough for her on that matter too. she just didn't like showing weakness. it left too much room for people to take advantage of it and then end up underestimating her. she sighed, stroking the spot behind the cat's ears affectionately, "so you always say" she muttered in response to the coach thing, trying not to get annoyed. he also always loved to bring up her age.
but she did anyway and within seconds, the two of them seemed to be at opposite ends of the spectrum once again. she laughed, "you are not seriously putting this all on me. you're the one who suggested i come up here, remember? if you didn't want me here, say so. i can't read your fucking mind, dmitri." she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air in exasperation. so yeah, she had wanted to come up here because she liked spending time with him. was that so wrong? plus, this was a two way street. he had been the one who initiated the whole meeting to begin with. he was at fault here too. she glared at him, "can't or won't" she asked, her voice trying desperately to not betray her feelings. she stepped back away from him as he continued to speak, as if each word he spoke was a physical blow to her body. "what do you want me to do then? do you want me to drop out of the class all together? let you take entire ownership of the cat? what do you want? i thought we established that we were friends." she said, crossing her arms over her chest as if that would keep all her emotions from pouring out of her mouth. "or did i completely misinterpret that? because, apparently, i'm always in the wrong here." she muttered before shooting a glare at him. "you really need to stop bringing up my fucking age. i know how old i am. i don't need you to remind me every second of the fucking day." she hissed, wanting so badly just hit him or something. her chest heaved from the anger that was bubbling inside her as he sighed. "too late; you already hurt me." she said softly, not looking at him, turning away so her back was facing him, brushing away the daring tear that had rolled down her cheeks. she made no move to leave when he continued to speak, but she didn't turn to look at him either. she sighed after a minute before turning towards him slowly, "someone like me? what makes you think i'm like her, dmitri? if anything, everyone knows that you're too good for me." she muttered, glancing down at the ground. she clung to her clothes, daring one glance at him, "i'm only leaving if that's what you want. what do you want?"

. thank you for making me see that there is life in me RUBY/PAISLEY , 1124, SHORTS AND T-SHIRT , EEK how could he get it through her thick head that he wanted her but couldn’t have her. his entire life was like that, he was always teased and baited for the simple things in life but he never got it, he had to fight for it but paisley was not a battle that was he was willing to rage on the world. she was beautiful, smart, driven but her temper was less than desirable and until she learned to control it, he was not sure there could be much between them. he needed simple in his life because his entire childhood and teenage years were anything but. she never listened, she never showed him that she actually took his words into consideration as she often did the opposite of what he said and that irked him—physically and emotionally. he felt unimportant sometimes and though that was a child like thought, immature in all it’s glory, it was how he felt and it was not going to be changing so quickly. he had already been crushed once, pouring his anger out twice after both situations and ended up in bar fights constantly until he discovered that the gym was more important to him than anything else. the gym that he opened, runs and does the upkeep for became everything to him and he lost the desire or the want for anything more. the gym, that entire establishment was not going to turn it’s back on him, it wasn’t going to cheat or just drop him off on the side of the road and that made him feel safe and secure. his anger was getting the best of them as suddenly turned polar opposites and lashed out at one another again. these were times that dmitri wished that he kept his mouth shut and turned his back to the world once more because the words that were going to come out were going to be in anger, they would be spiteful and hurtful and he was well aware of that but maybe it would chase her away for good. ”don’t be so immature paisley. I just said that I wanted to see you too! you never..f..” [/b] he hesitated to use the word, clearing his throat to rid the possibility of it coming out in front of a woman, ”listen! you always think that you know everything and you don’t even know half of it and what I don’t get, is why you can’t just trust me enough to listen when I talk to you! I don’t say things for my own entertainment you know..”[/b], now he was on his feet, rushing a hand through his hair to keep his fists from going into one of his apartment walls. ”both. it’s wrong, all of it. the age, the teacher/student thing, the histories, the idea of our families…”[/b] he muttered, shaking his head and placing his hands on his hips while his head ducked down. he could not even imagine the look on his mother’s face if he had brought her home to russia, to meet them, to see the family, her mother would ask her for her age and that would be end of it. their surname was too valuable to ruin on a scandal and dmitri knew that, he embraced that. ”jesus Christ..”[/b], he shook his head and then looked up to her, giving a clap of his hands in a sarcastic manner, ”finally, you admit to being wrong, to not being superior and for actually having flaws. congrats, really..”[/b], he hissed his words out and turned his back to her in order to pick up the materials of the wrapping off the ground. he tossed it onto the couch and sighed as he heard her, dropping onto the couch once more with a defeated sigh. he had no idea what else to say or what to do anymore but he figured that the truth would be best, more of the truth. she knew a sliver of his past, and they were hardly anything major in the mistake department. he had never mentioned nearly beating someone to an inch of their life, or getting the girl pregnant, nearly driving his father’s company into the ground. all of that was unnoticed, untold and it would stay in the shadows and in the past, where it belonged. ”you don’t know me pai. you don’t know a damn thing about me.”[/b], getting to the only swear word that he would say around a girl. he explained as much as he could about his arrival to myrtle beach, the heartache that he felt and his voice cracked once or twice in his explanation but he blamed it on the clearing of his throat which he did repeadtly. he wanted her to know the truth, see that he was not the attractive, moral man that he was, that he had many flaws and they were mostly regarding his past but he could not bring himself to do anything. shaking his head after he finished. ”why are you turning this back around like I accused you of anything! constantly you do that, blaming yourself, pulling yourself down to nothing but talking yourself back up again. you are human pai, you are not a robot, you are not anything but human! you have emotions, you have feelings, you get hurt, and sometimes you need help.”[/b] he said with a winded breath, his chest rising and falling with anger. ”but I tell you a pretty personal story and you turn around and make it about yourself. you have..some growing up to do paisley. really.”[/b] and then he took another deep breath, not filtering his words, |i want you to do whatever you want because I can’t do what I want.”[/b] and with that, dmitri scooped up the kitten into his arms and pushed past her, moving to his bedroom with a close of the door. he was tired of the cat and mouse game, tired of chasing one another and he was constantly exhausted around her. she almost drained every bit of energy out of him which caused him to cradle the sleepy kitten close to his chest and fall onto his bed, the door opened just a crack to show some light as he turned his back and closed his eyes. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 1630 / ps. they're depressing paisley was mature for her age. at least that was what she liked to think. because despite the fact that she was still only nineteen years old, she had grown up much faster than anyone else had to. she lost a mother at a young age and went through shit in foster care. but let's admit it. she was still only nineteen years old. she had no idea what the fuck she was doing. she was just taking it day by day and hoping that it would go her way and nothing bad happened. she wanted to be that girl that dmitri was clearly trying to make her into, or envisioning her to be. she wanted to be mature and grown up and not be sarcastic and do reckless shit. but that wasn't her. and frankly, she kind of liked who she was. yeah, it got her into trouble a lot of the time and no one could stand to be around her, but this was her. this was how she grew up. all this was the cause of having to raise herself. she had to toughen herself up so no one could hurt her or leave her. and it wasn't like there were any role models in her life while she grew up. her mother had been the only parental figure in her life and she passed away when she was still just a child. there was no one to teach her how to be polite, how to behave, and not throw a temper tantrum every time she didn't get her way. all she knew was where to hide when her adoptive father was home. that she had to hold back a scream every time he pushed the butt of his cigarette against her forearm because that would only make him inflict more pain on her. because at the end of the day, all she knew how to do was protect herself. because that was the only life lesson that she had ever learned. how was she to know when she was being a big pain in the ass?
but the way she had raised herself, it was taking its toll on her. it was coming back to bite her in the ass in the most destructible way possible because it came in the form of a man she had begun to fall in love with. and you want to know the worst part of it all? the worst part of it all was that he refused to feel the same way about her. mind over matter. that was the saying right? no matter how much he claimed to want to be with her, it didn't change the fact that he wasn't going to give into his heart. and there was no way that paisley could make him change his mind. he was as stubborn as she was. and you know what they say about two stubborn people in the same room.... one of them always has to be right. she felt herself heat up even more as he threw the word "immature" at her. that word popped up as much as him mentioning her age. her eyes hardened, "don't. put. words. in. my. mouth." she hissed out dangerously. upon the many things that she hated, this was definitely at the top of her list. she didn't like having people put words in her mouth. because that left room for assumptions and accusations. and she, for one, did not play well with either of those two things. her fingers clenched into fits against the pile of clothes held against her chest, rolling her eyes, "trust you? what reasons have you given me to trust you?" she looked away for a second, letting out a soft, cynical chuckle, "i don't know if you've noticed, but i don't trust anyone." that was wrong. the fact was, she didn't know how to trust anyone. no one had ever taught her how to trust. no one ever gave her the benefit of the doubt or make her see that she could rely on them. she had a small tasting of it when she was around dmitri, but no one ever really sat her down and told her how to trust.
she shook her head, laughing in a sarcastic manner as he pointed out that every part of what they had was wrong. god, she wanted to laugh at this point. imagine the two of them dating, in an actual relationship. how bad would that fight be? because if he felt this way now, when they were only friend, then he would feel a million times worst dating her. she shook her head, "your family." she corrected, "mine doesn't care about me. i could end up in a ditch tonight and they wouldn't even notice until it's written on the newspaper in front of their face." and she knew, for a fact, that it was the truth. they didn't care. they were happy with their own little family by themselves without her. she was just a thorn on their side, that much she knew. her father took every chance he got to make it obvious how much he didn't like having her around. her half brothers had consistently iced her out of any sort of conversation and family gathering. and her step mother. oh, her step mother just absolutely adored making her life miserable by putting her through everything she didn't stand for as a girl. why else did he think she was out all the time? or that she found every reason she could to stay over here or work out in the gym more than necessary? believe me, it wasn't only because he was good to look at and she liked being with him. those were only petty reasons next to the actual reason. the only person in the entire world that would truly worry for her every second of the day was long gone. she pursed her lips together, forcing herself to not retort back to his sarcastic clapping and comment. she knew she had flaws. they wouldn't be in this situation if she didn't. she wouldn't have been in the hospital if she didn't. and the boys wouldn't have attacked her while she was still down if she didn't have any flaws. she knew she had them. everyone had them. the difference between her and everyone else was that she just didn't voice them.
she scoffed at him, "that's real ironic coming from the guy who told me i didn't trust him when the truth is... he doesn't even trust me." she retorted. "i can't know a thing about you if you don't trust me either." yeah, she appreciated him talking to her. it was a big improvement from the times that he just stayed silent when she first met him. she knew he wasn't a talkative guy, but what was the point if he wasn't even revealing a thing about himself? she knew as much about him as wikipedia did. which was nada. absofuckinglutely nothing. and it made her absolutely livid to accuse her of not knowing anything about him when he was the one who had been shutting her out. but despite the heated argument between the two of them, the heat left her as quickly as this argument had escalated. she felt all the heat in her body drain from her, leaving nothing but a frightening chilly air around her. anyone could see the drastic change in her from a million miles away. if you looked into her eyes, you could immediately spot the wall that was rapidly building itself up. however, between the split second shift of her anger to the coldness, you would have witnessed the way her heart collapsed and shattered into billions of pieces from the words he spoke. her eyes glazed with nothing but ice, void of every emotion, leaving her in a stoic figure of shock. his words shook her to the core, and she couldn't, for the life of her, find the voice to defend herself. she just stared ahead of her, her peripherals catching him move past her, pick up their cat and submerge into his bedroom. she didn't know how long she stood there, frozen, letting every emotion to shut down in her body. it might have been only twenty minutes, or it could have been hours, she didn't know, but eventually, she had enough willpower to force herself back into reality. she touched her face, only to realize that it was wet with her tears. roughly, she rubbed the ugly trails off her cheeks before she made her way to dmitri's bedroom door, just standing in front of it. she didn't push it to make the gap wider, and she didn't knock, just stood there. she collected herself before she glanced ahead at the door as if she could see him. just this one time. this one last time she would ever let herself feel anything remotely like weakness before shutting herself off from everything. "i'm sorry." she said softly, but she knew he could hear her. "if you thought i was trying to turn your story around to make it about me, then i'm sorry." she mumbled, finally looking down at the ground, "i wasn't trying to..." she chewed down on her lip, looking back up at the door again, sighing. "i guess i'll make it easier for the both of us and get out of your hair." she said, the words "for good" lingering in the air. whether it was for good or not, it didn't really matter. he wanted her but he'd never let himself have her. she wanted him, but she'd never be able to have him. that was just how it worked.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true][/style][atrb=style, width: 525px; border-bottom: 20px #3A3A3A solid, bTable]PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS OUT ON ME cause you are the only thing that is keeping me alive [style=height: 317px; width: 250px; margin-right: -520px; font-size: 8.5px; font-family: tahoma; text-align: justify; line-height: 1; text-transform: lowercase; overflow: auto; scrollbar-base-color:#A36954; color: #000;]there was something about that relationship the past one, that hauntd dmitri. he was unable to get past the betrayal of his heart being slashed open by the heartless woman and when paisley walked into his life, full of drama and baggage, it was just another girl at first. she was nothing to him at the beginning, holding no merit to be anything more either but that all changed as their relationship began to actually be formed into something. he recognized himself in her, a strange concept but it allowed him to feel pity and grow an understanding and he wanted to help her. that was where it had first started out as, being a small guidance for the young girl but that progressed even more when drama began to fill her life and it seemed that his gym was getting the brunt of her anger. his equipment to be more exact which was the essence to his entire business and dmitri took pride in the shelter that he had built for those that wished to work out frustration or learn a little self defense and some little girl was not going to ruin that atmosphere. she got deeper and deeper under his skin, his own curiosity about her anger and what appeared to be her undying need to always lay a fist into something before thinking about it. he wanted to know what triggered those things and dmtiri still was unaware except for the snippets that she had informed him about butt there was no denying that he was curious about it. ”I didn’t put anything but what you said into the correct context.” |
[/b] he growled out on his own, frustration growing on his face and it was evident. his own hands had slowly been curling into a fist but he had to release it, this girl was going to be the death of him and that was a promise. she was going to drive him to the bottle and she was slowly unleashing the part of him that he hated and had locked away for so long. she was bringing out the worst in him and he did not understand how anyone could do that and be able to bring out the best as well. he hardly smiled or laughed unless it was with a sardonic tone or sarcastic chuckle but she had actually made him chuckle more than once, her entire presence brought a smile to his face most of the times but it was these moments that he had to roll his eyes and step back from her before he said something he would regret. dmitri would never lay a hand on a woman, no matter the circumstances, but the dirty thought had crossed his mind more than once when his anger had built up but paisley was too stubborn to walk away and he had to take the full step back. his eyes narrowed though, scoffing and shaking his head ”are you…”[/b], he had to hold back his words for a moment, letting the curse word come out breathless with no sound before continuing, ”kidding me!? not trust me after I did…everything for you! everything I shouldn’t have done, I could have gone to jail for beating up the punks that wanted to hurt you, I gave you an entrance into the gym, I helped to sharpen your skills, I did everything that I am not supposed to do as a coach, including getting this personal. I gave you a cat for crying out loud and you say that you don’t trust me!?”[/b] he hissed out, hurt leaking out in his words. that thought stung him to the core because though paisley had no idea about who he was, or even who he is at this moment, he had never done anything to break her circle of trust or even to not have gained a little. ”you don’t trust me..”[/b] he repeated, his eyes narrowing and scoffing once more to the thought, ”I think you have some serious trust issues if that list does not gain me anything in the trust department.”[/b], running a hand through his hair in an attempt to stay calm. the volume of his voice had caused the walls to shake, or so it felt as his voice had been risen to her but never to that degree. he growled out his words, barking them at her in an attempt to get the point across that he deserved at least a shred of trust from her for everything he had done. ”yea I noticed that already, thanks.”[/b] he hissed out, his fists returning but this time, he was grabbing at the fabric of his shirt and giving it a small tug in complete agony for what he was thinking and feeling. this girl was too stubborn for him and too immature, ”and you wonder why I call you a kid.”[/b] because the way she was speaking, the tone that she was using, the language and the complete disregard for anything that he was saying was rather immature and he was not going to stand for it. if she wanted to keep up the teenager attitude, then dmitri was sure that he would be asking her to leave his apartment and the gym until she learned to grow up because it was exactly what she had to do at this point. ”you are such a drama queen paisley. your family does care about you, shockingly or not and be thankful that you have one even if they don’t show a shred of respect toward you because you know...”[/b] he muttered the cliché part but trying to get her to show that she needed to be appreciative of things that she had in her life because she was taking them for granted in a sense. she never had anything good to say about anyone and that irked dmitri to a certain extent, he wanted to help her see the good that the world had because it appeared that the rich girl only saw the bad, ”we have both lived a very privelged life but mine stopped when I came here…yours is still going and yes though your father is a prick and your step mother is a witch, it doesn’t mean that your life is not golden compared to others.”[/b], shaking his head. it was the truth as dmitri had not taken a dime to his name when coming to the states with the tourist that he had met in his homeland, and he had built everything he had now from nothing which was why he was so proud of his gym and the work that he had accomplished. he was exhausted in his life and this fight was just draining him more because it was exactly the same thing everytime and this was it for him. he tried to stop listening just for a second, he tried not to let his emotions get the best of him because that often led to violent acts on his end and he had to keep control—it was vital. there was nothing he wanted more than to kick her out of the apartment and turn in for the night, the thought becoming more and more appealing as the images of sleep flashed in his mind. he was lost in the throes of thoughts for a moment before certain words caught his attention and he shook his head, ”I don’t let just anyone into my apartment or share a feline with them. if you say I don’t trust you, I’m not going to try and change your mind because I know it won’t matter. you are a stubborn little girl and you never listen to anyone so why bother?”[/b] he said with a monotone voice, giving a shrug at the end of his words and then leaning down to scoop the cat into his arms. the feline purred at his touch as he scratched behind the ears, giving her a look of sympathy for everything that she was thinking and not believing before his steps took him into his own bedroom and the door shut behind him. his body was aching from the amount of self control that he kept over himself, having to keep himself from physically pushing her out the door in an attempt to salvage any progress that he had made on himself. he had dropped his body onto the bed, his sheets covering the bottom half of him and creating a small bed for the cat in the creases of the sheet while his eyes started to close at the desparate attempt to rejuvenate his body and mind but paisley could not let it go and he felt her presence before his eyes opened to reveal a shadow on the wall but his back remained to her. ”well apparently I don’t trust you, so why should I believe anything that you are saying right now? are you really sorry or are you looking for an attempt to make amends and think that’s the only word that will do it?”[/b] he asked, his throat was hoarse from the abnormal amount of extortion that the volume had increased to in his speeches to her. he was not sure if he could trust her anymore, not if the feeling was mutual on her end at least. he did not put trust into people that did not attempt to make an effort and through everything that he had done for her, he deserved at least a shred of respect and trust from her but he never got it and that stung him. it did not break his heart for that was still pretty damaged from the last girl but it did shake his existence just to know that what he did was unappreciated by the girl that was currently standing at his door. rolling over, his eyes narrowed as he listened to the last bit of her but his cold exterior broke as he saw the tears in her eyes and could see his own path of destruction on her tear stained cheeks. ”pai…”[/b] he groaned, sitting up and looking to the cat, whose ears pinned back to the action of being awoken by the bed shifting with his movements, ”come here..”[/b] he said softly. the fight still lingered in his mind, making him cautious to any real actions but he did not want to see paisley out of his life and if the choice was between the fight and her absence, the fight seemed like the lesser of two evils in his mind.[/div][/center] [/td][/tr][/table][/center] THIS POST IS FOR AMAZING AND TALENTED RUBY WITH HER CHARACTER, PAISLEY [/COLOR]. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]just another lonely night they happen all the time tagged: dmitri / wearing: hurr / wc: 1502 / ps. i hope so! she didn't know how or when it happened, but at some point in her life, she had started to let dmitri in unknowingly. maybe she didn't open up to him completely, but it was something compared to the nothing everyone else got. to be honest, she didn't even know how they got to this point of their.... well whatever it was that they had. it was supposed to be nothing. she hadn't planned to develop a friendship with her coach. when she had first come to russian kicks, it was to further her kickboxing lessons. she had dropped her classes when she jumped town to look for her dad, and when she had found him, she had decided that she wanted to pick it back up. she had never planned to be friends with anyone in the class, let alone crush on her coach. its main purpose was solely to be her outlet. somewhere she could let her anger out without hurting anyone or breaking anything in the house. that was her goal. that is, until she stepped into the room and saw who was teaching the class. he looked completely unattainable and very much so not interested in any sort of relationship, but that was what drew her in even more than usual. he had truly caught her eye, but even then. she told herself that it would just be about the lessons and honing her skills. she wouldn't get involved with anyone, not even her amazingly good looking coach. it had been fine. she barely said a word to him and he barely cast a glance towards her. but somewhere down the road, she had started letting him in, telling him things that she would, never in a million years, tell anyone else. well, except maybe her mother, but she was gone, so that was besides the point.
and now, here they were, screaming at each other, and she had been completely unprepared by how much it would hurt. how deep his words would cut. but this was her own fault. she had brought this on herself. she was the one who took on the role of a tough girl. she could have been anyone she wanted to be, but the world hadn't been kind to her, and that was when she started to become a little rough around the edges. this was survival, after all. because growing up, that was the one thing that mattered the most. survive through any sort of situation she found herself in. survive until she could live. her eyes hardened, "no, you put it into what you think is the right context." she grumbled through gritted teeth. she could see that dmitri was getting just as heated as she was. she knew he would never hit a woman, but sometimes, she wasn't so sure. when she saw him curl his fists like that, all she could do was think back to the days with her adoptive father. she never thought that man would lay a hand on her either, and yet, with enough alcohol in his system, there was no stopping him from doing whatever he wanted to do with paisley. but that was when she was the weak girl who couldn't protect herself. who wasn't fast enough to run away or strong enough to defend herself. all she had been able to do was either take the brunt of the beatings or hide out and hope for the best. she flinched slightly at the tone of his voice. she knew where he was coming from. he was right of course. she had to give him credit for all the things that he had done for her. the fact that he had been by her side when it counted the most alone should have gained a part of her trust. and while she was absolutely thankful that he had been there, it wasn't that she didn't trust him with her life in the literal sense. she knew that no matter how dangerous the situation, dmitri would be there to help protect her. she trusted him with her life, but emotionally, she just didn't know how to. a big part of her was still expecting him to walk out from her life because in the past nineteen years, that was all she learned. people walked away. period. no ifs ands or buts.
paisley inhaled deeply, the nails of her fingers digging deeply against the palm of her hand before, slowly, exhaling and uncurling her fists. she pressed her lips tightly against one another to prevent herself from saying anything else that she would regret. "i trust that you'd protect me. i trust you with my life, but that's as far as my trust goes." she couldn't trust him with her heart because she was afraid that she was only asking for it to be broken. not that it wasn't already hurting now. she scoffed at him, rolling her eyes, "if my dad cared, he would have never abandoned me. and i am thankful." she muttered, glancing down at the ground before looking back up at him. "i am... was.... thankful for my mom. i'm thankful to have you in my life. just because i don't show it doesn't mean i don't know how to appreciate the things i have." she knew the world had graced her with a few amazing people in her life. it's just that it was hard for her to show her appreciation. believe her. she knew that not everyone was as privileged as she was right now. not everyone could live in luxury like she did now. she knew. she's been there. she shook her head, "i would rather be dirt poor and live in a family that loves and would never abandon me than be in a luxurious family that only cares about their appearances and superficial things over family." riches meant nothing to her. she didn't care about money or caviar or dressing in designer color. none of that mattered if she lived in a family that didn't even care about one another. what kind of family is that? her heart clenched unpleasantly as the two words he spoke last rang out. why bother? two words she had heard more than once from everyone around her. two ugly little words that made her nauseous.
she could feel her mind desperately trying to shut off the emotions that were about to emerge. as if it was as easy as turning off a light switch. if only it was that easy. her mind kept trying to send signals to her heart, telling it to stop feeling. to not let it hurt. still, her heart ignored its warnings, its words of wisdom. her heart strings tugged and tugged, and all she could feel was it constricting unbearably. she felt sick. like any moment now, she would throw up. she wasn't sure if it was just her mind trying to divert her heart's attention or if she was really sick. either way, she just felt sick to her stomach. she stared blankly at the floor, blinking a few times as dmitri responded to her apology. she closed her eyes, trying to hold back the tears, "i am." she whispered, her voice barely audible. "i'm not just saying it." she added as if that would make her words more credible. she placed a hand over her heart, nails digging into the skin of her collarbone. maybe if she clenched hard enough, the pain in her heart would stop its torture. flick it off. turn it off. her mind was screaming for her to just shut off her emotions at this point, but she couldn't. she wanted to, but her heart had a mind of its own. the wiser choice would to just leave. she had said what she wanted. there was nothing else for her to say. she had done all she could and told him she would leave. and that's exactly what she should be doing, but she couldn't bring herself to just leave yet. still, it didn't matter. she had to leave. she had to leave before she could break anymore. she forced herself to turn towards the stairs leading out the apartment. she was taking her first step when she heard dmitri mutter the shorter version of her name. she paused, unable to make herself turn around to look at him. just in case he wasn't asking her to stay. just in case he had something even more harsh to utter. she hesitated even after he told her to go over to him. it took her a moment for her to register the words before she turned back around, pushing the door open a little more. she took a step inside, lingering at the doorway, but made no move to step any further into the room. "what?" she asked. this time, her tone was void of attitude. all her emotions were stripped, and it left her with nothing but raw hurt.
