The last few months had been crazy. Rhian wasn't sure how the hell else do describe it all. She was almost five months pregnant and quite noticeably showing it. She had moments where she realized that she looked like a freaking whale, but at the same time, she never felt more beautiful thanks to her incredible fiance. And Dean... Dean was amazing through the whole thing. He was working hard and she knew it. Rhian was taking some photo jobs here and there in order to put some extra cash aside for when the baby did come, but as it stood, things were moving along pretty well. She was the happiest she had been in a long time. She had the man. She was going to have the family. Everything was moving along nicely. What more could a girl want?
She fell asleep each and every night with Dean's arms around her and woke up to turn over and see him smiling at her. Life was generally perfect, even if there were a few things that could have used improving. Rhian cared a lot about her soon to be brother-in-law, but sometimes he caused her undue amounts of stress because of the off-handed comments he'd make or the general way that he'd ignore her. Rhian wasn't an attention whore by any means, but as it stood, she knew well enough that they were all going to be family soon enough and she couldn't help the fact that she wanted Sean to at least get along with her. Maybe it was the hormones that were blowing everything out of proportion. Who the hell knew? All that she knew was that she wanted things to be perfect... Even the things she had no control over.
She'd been nesting. It had probably been driving Dean up the wall, but she couldn't seem to help herself. One day, she'd clean the entire kitchen. The next day she'd be pulling everything apart and rearranging it all over again. It was a wonder he hadn't tied her down somewhere and told her to sit still for just a little while. But she couldn't seem to do that. She just couldn't do it. She felt as if there was so much that needed to be done, but the fact of the matter was that they had another four months yet to finish up the very little that they did have to do.
Rhian finally lay back in bed with Dean. As per usual, his arms were wrapped around her, but she was restless. She couldn't fall into an easy sleep tonight and she wasn't even sure why. Something wasn't right, but she couldn't put a finger on it. She more or less lay there, staring at the wall, a puzzled expression on her face. She could hear Dean snoring lightly behind her, but she knew that he wasn't in a deep sleep. He had only just fallen asleep, after all. But then, the source of her unease made itself well known. There was a sharp pain in her abdomen that persisted for a moment. She couldn't help the way she cried out a little at the pain. That had never happened before. Ever. She'd felt a tightening in her lower stomach in the past, but nothing like this. Nothing to this extent. "Oh god..." She whispered before gingerly rolling over. "Dean... Something's wrong." She said, her eyes instantly filling up with tears.
Was something wrong with their baby? What the hell was going on?! Was this normal or natural!? She didn't know what the hell to expect with being pregnant, but right now, she was terrified that something was wrong with the baby. "We need to get to the hospital. I don't know... I..." She was panicking and some part of her brain knew that. But this was their baby. She didn't want to take any chances with this and it wasn't as if she had ever had a freaking baby before. She made an attempt at calming herself even as the tears continued tracking down her face. And then, just as soon as the pressure came, it eased up again. "Please... what if something's wrong...?"

NEVER EVER LET YOUR DOWN. YOU'LL SEE YOUR HERO COME RUNNING OVER AND OVER MEL W/RHIAN , 1139 , JEANSW/NOSHIRT , FREAAK OUT walking into the house after a shift at the bar, which he had left early for to be home for his brother and his fiancé, he noticed that the living room was rearranged. tired and a little groggy, the male had just enough time to catch himself before he had almost sat down onto air and turned to look over his shoulder to see the chair that was usually there was about five inches to the left. raising an eyebrow, he stood up, pointing his hands on his hips and chuckling to himself again. his brother walked out of his room and shook his head at his older brother as dean tried to strike up a conversation with him about his tutoring and football practice. she did it again grumbled his brother before grabbing something out the fridge and retreating back into his room. giving a low sigh as his brother’s door could be heard slamming shut, dean rubbed at the back of his neck, ”yes I see that..” [/b] he muttered to himself before slowly making his way into the bedroom while pulling shirt off. he had to hide the blood stains that were put onto this shirt for he had done a bit of fighting that night as well. street fighting was helping him with controlling his anger, and his stress but it also caused him to be a bit of a liar to his soon to be wife. he hated to do that because he had to make up excuse after excuse but he was running out of them and thankfully, he had nothing to add to the already cut cheek and a faded black ring under his eye. he crawled under the sheets as he did every night with his arms wrapped tightly around his fiance’s small body and pressing a kiss to her cheek before his head hit the pillow fully and his eyes slowly began to close and he started to fall into a light sleep as always. since having found rhian again, dean’s sleeping pattern had changed as a truck coming through the house wouldn’t wake him but now even the fridge door being shut would pull him out of his sleep and he figured it was the overprotective nature that he had over his wife and his little brother. the thought of anyone hurting him, the nightmares that came with the memories of his father was enough to stop dean from going too far into the euphoria of dreamland. he wanted his dreams to be filled with happiness not the cold memories of abuse and suffering for the first seventeen years of his life and then some after. it had been a struggle to keep the family afloat and now with another mouth to feed that was on the way, dean needed more money coming in and that was where his fighting was coming from. his hand was resting on his stomach while the other was tucked under her neck to use the crook as a pillow. he felt her stomach nearly lurch which caused his eyes to shoot open in an instant as he pressed down a little harder on her stomach while his head shot up to look at the panic look on rhian’s face. ”shh..shh…”[/b] he cooed softly, reaching out to brush the tears from falling from his eyes while he pulled the cover off the two of them and grabbed the jeans that were lying at the end of the bed. he did not even bother with a shirt to cover himself as he walked over to her side of the bed and gingerly lifted her into his arms. it was bridal style and it was hitting him hard that something could very well be wrong with the child that she was carrying, a mesh of their own genes in a perfect little package and dean had only seen pictures of the baby—but he still loved it. he wanted to protect it, his arms strained for a moment from the ach that came from the previous fight but he needed to be strong both physically and emotionally. ”everything is going to be okay…”[/b] he whispered while pressed his forehead to hers and giving her lips a light peck. as he left the room, he saw sean standing in the living room with the same kind of attire on and dean gave him a small smile as sean held up the keys to car. heard you two while heading to the bathroom, haven’t emptied my bladder yet but this is more important. he muttered before opening the door for dean who rushed out of the house and down the steps until he reached the lobby. he had caught his footing twice and had to slow his pace down a little as he still had his fiancé in his arms but sean was close behind and even ran ahead to get the car running for them. ”deep breaths baby..”[/b] he cooed out to rhian as the back door was opened for him and he slipped in, keeping her wrapped in his arms. he was thankful for his brother at the moment because dean felt his hand shaking with the fear coursing through him, and as much as he tried to stop it and be weak only on the outside, it was the one thing that was showing. ”you’re okay..it’s okay..”[/b] he whispered, placing a hand on her stomach and curling her body closer to his. his lips found her the pulse point of her neck, laying butterfly kisses across the skin in order to calm her down while sean sped to the hospital. dean did not even wait for the car to come to a complete stop, I’ll park and find you guys. said sean just as dean had slammed the door shut with his foot and running into the emergency room with his fiancé still in his arms. ”I need a doctor! please! she’s…pregnant and …I don’t know! please someone!” he called out which alerted a few nurses who rushed to him with the word pregnancy, you need to stay here sir. said the voice but dean shook his head, ”that’s my wife..and my kid, I’m not leaving her.. he hissed out between clenched teeth while placing rhian’s small body into the given wheelchair. his hand instantly found hers and he brushed his thumb over the skin, trying to keep calm while walking beside the chair as she wheeled off to the examination room. sir, you can’t come in yet.. said the nurse who lightly touched his arm which was almost like a magic button that caused his hand to release rhian’s as she was rushed away from him and he was left to the waiting room by himself. Rhian was terrified. She couldn't deny that in the least and she was more than certain that it was showing on her face in the moment. She wanted, desperately, to be strong for Dean, but he was the one that was being strong for her. He was being her rock at the moment even though, logically, she knew that he had to be freaking out just as badly as she was. She was afraid for their baby. She didn't know what she would do if something happened to the baby. She didn't want to put Dean through that amount of suffering either, so even if this was nothing... even if this turned out to be something entirely normal at this stage in the pregnancy, she didn't want to take any chances.
He was carrying her all the way down to the car, she realized. And Sean was there. Sean was taking care of some of the other details. Getting them to the car. Helping them along. She wasn't really entirely aware of what was happening at the moment. All she could really do was keep one arm wrapped around Dean and the other one protectively wrapped around her stomach. She had to keep telling herself that nothing was wrong with the baby. That everything would be okay and that they would all make it through this. She had to keep herself positive in the moment or, in the end, all she would wind up doing was causing herself more stress and putting more stress on Dean, herself, and the baby.
Dean's reminder to keep breathing centred her for a moment and she actually had something to focus on. She focused on the inhalation and exhalation of her breath. She focused on the strength in Dean's arms as they wrapped around her. She focused on Sean and the fact that he was a saint at the moment. Despite the fact that Dean's younger brother always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder where she was concerned, Rhian knew that he cared now. He cared about his brother. He cared about her and he cared about the baby that was growing inside of her. The baby that would be okay. The baby that had to be okay. Because she knew that even Sean, who had been through just as much as Dean, cared about the baby. "I'm okay..." She repeated back to Dean. But then another one of those damned contractions seized her and she gave a small wail of protest as her body fought through the sensation.
She was doing her best not to frighten Dean and Sean at the moment, trying to keep the sensation and pain to herself, despite the fact that her arm clearly tightened around her stomach for a moment. And damnit... it hurt. Why did it have to hurt so much? When the worst of it passed, she took a deep breath in and let it out again, repeating the exorcize over and over again until, at last, they were at the hospital. And then it seemed that everything was just happening so damned fast. She was eased into a wheelchair and Dean was refusing to leave her side, regardless of the fact that the nurse was insisting on it. She looked up at him, blinking big brown eyes that were frightened, but no longer teary. "Dean, it's okay. We'll be fine. Just let them do what they need to." She offered him a small smile, despite the fact that her lower lip started trembling again.
And then he finally let go of her hand and she forced herself to relax. He wasn't with her anymore, but she knew he was nearby and that was all she needed. The nurses proceeded to ask her a number of questions ranging from how far along in the pregnancy she was to when the last time she had been to the doctor. She answered the questions as best she could. She wasn't sure how much time passed between the doctor's attention and examination and he ultrasound they conducted. Rhian waited impatiently for the verdict from the doctor and even fought through another contraction while the doctor was there...
"All right, Ms. Lenoire... Your baby is perfectly fine at the moment. What you just experienced were Braxton Hicks, albeit yours were a little more vicious than most of them tend to be. Your body's preparing itself for the real deal in four short months, and I'm afraid that they might get worse from here when it comes to intensity. You shouldn't worry about them and consider them to be the real deal until the contractions start getting closer and closer together. If it happens again, time them. Sometimes you'll find that a change in whatever activity you're doing will ease them out. So if you're laying down, stand up. If you're sitting, walk." Rhian felt like an idiot, but at the same time, there was such a flood of relief that washed through her that all she could do was smile. "Thank you so much, Dr. Parker." The doctor smiled and nodded. "By he way... were you looking to know the sex of the baby?"
[/b] He asked. Rhian brightened instantly. "You found out?" The doctor nodded, a smile lingering on his lips. "Please?" He nodded again. A few moments later, the doctor stepped out of the room and made his way directly towards Dean. "Everything's fine, Mr. Orwell. Feel free to go in and see her. If you'd like me to explain things to you, feel free to come and find me once you've spent some time with her. We'll monitor her for another little while and then she'll be free to head home." And with that, the doctor continued on his rounds for the time being. Rhian was waiting anxiously in the room, chewing at her lower lip. The moment she saw Dean in the doorway though, a bright smile came over her features. "I'm so sorry... I thought maybe..." She trailed off a moment and shook her head. That wasn't important at the moment. What was important was that everything was okay. "Dean.... It's a boy..." She told him. And again, her eyes flooded with tears, but this time, they were for a much happier reason.[/size][/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

NEVER EVER LET YOUR DOWN. YOU'LL SEE YOUR HERO COME RUNNING OVER AND OVER MEL W/RHIAN , 1089 , JEANSW/NOSHIRT , FREAAK OUT no matter how many times that he told himself that it was going to be okay, dean was only half believing it. everything in his life had been going smoothly, he had found his princess, he had even gotten sean to be less of a unmoral kid and more behaved, his job was going well and even the fighting was getting better—so was he due for a bad event? surely fate would not punish the defenseless child that was growing in his fiancé day by day. dean had already started to think of names, he had started to speak to the baby so that it would recognize his voice, he had sang, not well, to the baby as well. he had been preparing himself to be a father and was he even going to get a chance now? she had told him to let go and the shock of her asking him to stay behind when he would have barged into the examination room alongside of her shocked him and it was just the nurse’s luck that the touch to his arm had startled him and he had let her go. ”but…” [/b] he whispered under his breath while watching the form of his fiancé disappear while the doors swung three times back and forth before closing off any hope of seeing what was happening. he was left to wait in the waiting room alone, standing up and sitting down, pacing, biting his nails, reading the magazines, anything to keep his mind from thinking the worst. every scream that he heard had his head picking up in fear that it was rhian and then hospital rules be damned if they thought that they could stop him from going there to comfort her. he had nurses ask if he was okay and dean was not in the mood to really speak, just shaking his head and letting them pass by. he was not okay, he was scared beyond measures and even sean who had joined him was sitting with his head touching his knees, his head covered with his arms. she’s going to be okay, right? she and the baby? asked the younger brother, sounding very much like a child needing reassurance, ”yea sean, they will be fine..”[/b] but his words were full of a bleak tone as he continued to stare at the door that rhian had passed through only moments ago. coffee had done nothing to calm him down but he was thankful for his brother’s assistance in this. sean had decided to get dean to talk, speaking about greyson and school and things that would interest dean and maybe get his mind off where they were but the conversation was distant. dean’s mind was fully on his fiancé and his unborn child and though he loved his brother to death and appreciated the attempt at a distraction, nothing was going to reassure him or even calm him until a doctor approached him informing him that everything was fine. he had been here for too long by himself with no news and had decided to see if he could get anything out of the nurses. after about ten minutes, all he got was that he needed to sit down and wait for the doctor to come out and to take a seat which dean did not. instead, he began to pace and even sean was up pacing with him and dean knew that sean cared for him, rhian and the baby and though he did not show it, it was moments like these that were evident of that fact. his body felt numb with each passing minute that news was not given and he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around to see sean, bro, you are going to put a hole in the floor. you need to relax... dean was tired of hearing those words and quickly grabbed sean’s shirt in his hands and sighed, seeing the fear in his brother’s eyes and he quickly released him, ”sorry, just…tired of everyone telling me to relax and to be calm and wait my turn. i want to know if she is okay! i waited too long for this sean, for a family of my own—you, her and the baby—and i can’t bear to think it not going the way it was planned. if something happens..”[/b], his voice cracked and he shook his head, turning his back to sean to wipe at his eyes. you won’t forgive yourself. but it won’t be your fault and…nothing is going to happen dean. and with that, sean took his seat once more and the minutes ticked on again. each doctor that walked out and approached other people were being counted until finally, a male in white was coming closer and closer to him. he felt his breath hitch as he slowly rose to his feet after having been forced to sit down by sean with a threat not to do his homework and flunk out of school—a cruel but effective method. ”…okay. so..she’s okay..she’s okay…the baby is okay..”[/b] he whispered to himself, repeating the words over and over in his head. when he was given the okay, dean was already through the doors before the male could give him the full permission, yea, he’s fast.. was the last thing that he heard before heading for the room. sean continued to speak to the doctor naturally but dean was running into rhian’s room and right to her side. his body was shaking as he took her hand, bringing it to his lips and pressing a kiss to the back of it before doing the same to her lips. ”I know, I know..i did too..but it’s okay. it’s okay..”[/b] he whispered against the soft skin of her lips. his forehead rested against hers as dean moved to sit down on the edge of the bed and brush the hair from her face. his actions froze as he heard her mention the sex of the baby and his eyes suddenly widened as he reached over to touch the large bump, rushing his fingers over the cloth of the hospital gown, ”well..then he is okay. he’s perfectly healthy and happy and …you are okay. and it’s perfect once again.”[/b], and then dean was lying beside her. his feet were up on the bed and his arms were back to being wrapped around her body as if they were still sleeping in their own bed, as if nothing had changed at all. Rhian could tell that he was confused the moment she told him to let her go, but she wanted to make sure that the baby was okay just as much as Dean did. And if it meant getting her into the examination room all the sooner, she'd make it up to Dean later. She knew well enough that he just wanted to make everything better in this situation. She knew that he felt just as helpless as she did at the moment because neither of them really knew or understood what it was that was going on. They were both confused and scared and just wanted what was best for their unborn child. Rhian couldn't help but think that there would never be a child more loved than the one that they were about to bring into the world in a few short months.
She felt bad. She really and genuinely did. She'd read about Braxton Hicks, but she hadn't thought they'd wind up being that bad. Mind you, the doctor said that she'd had a more severe reaction to them than a number of women did, but that didn't mean that she felt any less horrible about it. She'd gone and woken up the entire household for something that had amounted to nothing more than an overreaction. She could just imagine how Sean was going to wind up taking that at the end of it all and she almost dreaded a snarky comment or remark from him in regards to the whole ordeal. She just wanted to crawl in a hole and sleep the next four months away.
But she couldn't keep the once small moment of joy from it all. She had found out that the baby was a boy and she was definitely going to share that with Dean. His movements ceased for a moment when she told him. He hadn't been expecting that little piece of news, but his eyes widened a moment later and he lay his hand on her stomach where their growing baby resided. She couldn't help the content smile that came over her features as she watched him. He was such a proud father and she knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that their child was going to be happy and well loved by the man beside her. She would be happy and well loved, undoubtedly. Life finally felt like it was all coming together for the pair of them and she knew that no one deserved this happiness like Dean did. She only hoped that Sean found the same happiness someday.
And then Dean crawled right into the bed with her. There was enough room to spare, given the fact that she was so damned tiny when compared to him. She was more than content in the moment to be held by him. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she lay her head down. "How's Sean? Is he okay? Please... Make sure you thank him if you see him before I get the chance to. I don't know what would have happened tonight if he hadn't have been there, even if this all turned out to be nothing." She murmured. She only hoped that he wouldn't hate her for having woken him up and caused a panic. A part of Rhian ached for the younger brother... a man that was just as much a part of her family now as her mother and father and Dean were, and yet a part of her also feared his rejection because she knew just how close to her husband-to-be that he was.

NEVER EVER LET YOUR DOWN. YOU'LL SEE YOUR HERO COME RUNNING OVER AND OVER MEL W/RHIAN , 871 , JEANSW/NOSHIRT , FREAAK OUT his legs were aching for the amount of passing that he swore could have put a hole into the floor with just enough force. he was angry and confused and concerned and a myriad of other emotions that were just resulting in his fists to be clenched and unclenched as he rode through the roller coaster over and over again. his brother seemed more calm out of the two and he had no idea how sean could remain so solemn but there was no denying how jealous he was of the male and wished that he could be that void of emotions. dean had always wished that he did not have to care like his brother, that he could wonder through life with no objectives and no responsibilities but now that he had a fiancé and a baby on the way—that was never an option that he was going to turn to. he would welcome emotions and responsilbity as long as his fiancé and the baby and his little brother were safe and secure, happy and healthy and well taken care of. if not, then dean felt like he was not doing his job as the breadwinner of the family. he had not intended to scare his little brother when he grabbed for his shirt but the reflection in sean’s eyes was mirrored to that when his father used to beat the two of them and he quickly released his hold, shaking his head and rubbing at the back of his neck. no amount of apologies could take back that look of fear in sean’s eyes, something that he was sure would now always linger but dean had promised his brother long ago that he would never be his father, and that he would never act like him and that was a huge promise to keep. the doctor giving the okay was just enough for dean not to care about whatever was happening instead of rhian because it was all okay, everything was fine and sean was slowly following suit as well as trying to pick up one of the registered nurses who kept passing by.
dean had made it into rhian’s room out of breath but he still had a smile on his face even as he had entered. his spot next to her on the bed was filled almost instantly in three quick strides and his arms wrapped around her just as though they were sleeping at home. in only a few short hours, she would be at home and they would be snuggling up to one another with their child kicking away as he had started to do now. excited and pleased to hear that it was a boy, dean pressed his lips to his fiance’s forehead and then a quick one to her lips before chuckling as he heard her concern about his brother. sean had not been the most supportive but now was proof that he did infact care for rhian and the baby and dean always knew he did, even if he never showed it. ”relived and already back to his normal self. he’s trying to get your nurses’ number. I’m sure you will be able to thank him yourself baby and we owe him a lot…more than a lot. he’s a good kid…” [/b] he muttered while his hand found his way to her belly, rubbing it gently, ”just like this little boy will be.”[/b] he grinned before leaning down to place a kiss to her stomach which was replied to with a kick, ”and maybe a soccer player.”[/b] and suddenly, all of these dreams were coming to mind for the unborn son of theirs. he could be a doctor, the net president, maybe he would be interested in arts or school, it was amazing to him the endless possibilities but whatever the baby grew up to be, dean would support him completely. oooh no, that boy is going to be a football player like his kickass uncle. said a voice from the doorway which caused dean to roll his eyes and turn to look over to see his brother standing there with a paper in his hand and cocky smirk on his face. ”damn, he’s pretty good..”[/b] he grinned, moving to sit up but still keeping his arms around his fiancé while his brother took the chair next to the bed and reached over to take rhian’s other hand, how are you feeling? asked sean which took dean by surprise but he was not complaining in the slightest if his brother was choosing no to be supportive, he had no qualms about that. pressing a kiss to the side of rhi’s head, he grinned against her hair and whispered, ”told you he would be right along.”[/b], chuckling as he pulled away and scoffed, pushing his brother’s feet off the bed, ”don’t.”[/b] he spoke with a stern voice which caused sean’s feet to drop to the floor and to release rhian’s hand but he still had a smirk on his face which showed that he was still himself but dean noticed the glint in his eye that represented the support of the family and sean was more than welcomed to join them once again. She laughed a little bit when Dean said that his brother was up to the same tricks, trying to get her nurse's phone number. "Of course he is." She said, but the tone she used was affectionate. It had really driven home the fact that the three of them were a part of a family now and Rhian knew that, even before all of this had happened, she would have had Sean's back through thick and thin. She knew that he needed people like that in his life, even if his method of coping and dealing with the pain of the past was to try and push everyone away so that he didn't wind up hurt again. Maybe it was the mamabear instinct in her that drove it all home, but she wanted nothing more than to help protect that young man. He deserved no less and she doubted he realized how much she cared about him, even when it seemed like she was having a hell of a hard time in getting through to him.
She smiled. "I know he's a good kid." She murmured. And her smile only grew when he said that thei little boy would be a good kid too. "How could he not with a father like you?" She asked, glancing at him with that same adoring and loving smile on her face. She loved Dean so damned much and she wanted to make sure that he knew well enough that he had her support through this all as much as she had his support. He loved her and she loved him and they were all going to get through this. They were all going to be a happy family and everything, at long last, would be perfect for all of them. She only hoped that Sean found that same level of happiness one day. She hoped that she could see him looking at someone the same way that Dean was looking at her even just then.
She couldn't help the laugh she gave when Dean commented that the baby might be a soccer player. And then Sean was there, denying that the baby would be a soccer player and rather a football player. "Star Kicker?" She asked him with a slight grin. "I think you might be on to something there." She wanted to cry the moment that Sean sat down and took her hand, such concern in his eyes... Even with that damned nurse's number in his hand. She elbowed her fiance lightly at his slight encouragement of his brother's antics, but there was a smile on her face. "Good. Fine. The doctor said that it was pretty normal, but it probably felt a whole lot worse for me because they were pretty amplified. He thinks it might be because I'm so tiny." She admitted to Sean.
She laughed as he moved to put his feet up on the bed but Dean stopped him. She took that moment to thank Sean. "Sean... Thanks a lot for tonight. I don't know what Dean would have done without you there. I don't know what I would have done without you there." She smiled at him then, not knowing how much thanks she could give him before Sean would start to feel really uncomfortable. She loved her brother-in-law. She wasn't denying that fact in the least. He'd been there for them when they had needed him most of all and he'd gone and shown his true colors for the lot of them. She was thankful as hell to have him in their life. "Just remember... No football practice until the baby's at least a year old." She smiled at Sean.

YOU'LL SEE YOUR HERO COME RUNNING OVER AND OVER MEL W/RHIAN , 904 , JEANSW/NOSHIRT , FDAFHDA FEELS the smile on dean’s face was not going to be wiped away anytime soon with the new found understanding between his fiancé and his little brother and the fact that the baby was going to be yet another orwell male. it seemed that was the pattern, two boys and then a girl and dean figured that it would have happened if he had not kicked his step father so hard in the balls that he was unable to reprouduce and got quit a lashing because of it from both his mother who used her words and his father who used his fists. he had just been trying to protect his brother, something that he was still trying to do today but on a whole different kind of level. ”I think he might succeed. he is an orwell after all..” [/b] full of cheesy lines and a large ego, the two males were both quite the woman lovers and charming but dean had found his princess and no one was going to take that away. dean knew something was up with sean in the love department but decided not to pry at that one, afraid that he would shatter it for his little brother. he pressed another kiss to the side of her head as the silence filled the air around them, ’what are you thinking about in that little head of yours..”[/b] he whispered against the tresses of her hair, burying his face into her bedhead hair and breathing her in for just a moment to help calm himself even further. the shakes were gone but his heart was still racing, but it seemed that was the reaction that came to being this close to his fiancé. ”he is underneath it all…he has a lot of work to be done but…under our roof, with a kid, I think it will really help him..”[/b] or that was the dream for the older brother but he knew it was not going to pan out that way. his brother’s voice broke through the silence once more, dean’s eyes were already starting to grow heavy and he was pleased to have his brother there to help him with keeping himself from falling asleep at his fiance’s side as they would be released soon. some sleep wouldn’t hurt but dean would rather be back in their own apartment, in his own bed with rhian wrapped in his arms, not in a hospital where it was morbid and cold and rather bleak from the first step into the building. ”no way, this little boy will take after his dad in soccer…or maybe boxing..”[/b], he turned to look at his brother whose eyes were narrowed and shaking his head as he turned to look away from the two of them for a moment. doubt it unless he takes after his grandfather.. muttered the younger brother but it did not falter in reaching dean’s ears whose head whipped around quickly to look at sean, ”take that back.”[/b] he hissed out not wanting his child to be associated with the monster of a man. they did not share genes and yet, dean was starting to sound like him with the verbal warnings and the threats, but he was forcing himself to stay grounded to the bed and not launch himself at his brother. whatever was the reply from sean with arms crossed against his chest nad looking around the room, avoiding the gaze of his big brother. dean needed to be calmed down once more and slowly lowered his head to bury into rhian’s neck, he could hear her words, feeling her throat vibrating as she spoke and he took comfort in everything that she was saying just hoping that sean would give a pleasing answer. I can tell you what would have happened but dean might snap, so you’re welcome rhian..” but his words were jagged and cold, not meeting her eyes and instead he stood up from his spot, I’ll meet you guys in the waiting room.. but he could not help but smile at the last sentence that he heard while walking out the door. dean finally picked his head back up and looked to his fiancé, cupping her face in his hands and leaning in for a quick kiss, ”promise that sean will not punt the kid before he’s one..” but his tone was joking and teasing as he leaned in for another kiss. ”why don’t you shut your eyes and just relax…I’m not going anywhere, i promise.”[/b] he spoke quietly, snuggling her into his side with the grip that he had wrapped around her waist as he pulled her flush into his body. his eyes were growing heavy and he lulled himself into a sleep with the sound of her breathing, his body relaxing into the uncomfortable mattress of the hospital bed. it was not until he felt a shake to his shoulder and turned to see who had disturbed his slumber did he notice his brother there, we thought you died. time to go. they are discharging her.. he spoke before stepping back and letting dean lightly shake rhian awake, pressing a kiss to the side of her head, ”baby come on, you get to go home now…you need me to carry you?”[/b] he whispered with his lips still against her skin, not wanting to give up the moment but also desiring his own bed in his apartment. . Rhian couldn't believe, despite their surroundings, just how perfect this moment was. Sean was being an incredible brother and neither of them could have asked for more support from him in the moment. She felt a part of a family again and it was one hell of a nice feeling. She couldn't deny the fact that Sean made her feel less than adequate sometimes, but, at the same time, it was moments like these that she knew his true colors really managed to come out. Not that she blamed him for the moments when he seemed as if he wanted nothing to do with her at all. She knew just how rough things had been for the boys growing up and she could never blame him for what he was thinking or feeling when it came to an outsider intruding on their little arrangement. And for all intents and purposes she had been an outside when she'd come to Myrtle Beach.
She glanced at Dean when he asked her what she was thinking and she shrugged lightly. "About family. And how much I love it." She admitted. And she was clearly including Sean in that statement, even if he would deny the fact that they had all had a 'moment' here in the hospital. She loved her family... even her soon to be brother-in-law with a chip on his shoulder and, to most, ice in his veins. He was a tough kid, forged by a lot of crap that kids simply should never have to go through. And she respected him for that, even if his methods of coping were more than a little questionable. She cared about him. She cared about everyone in that room... Even the budding life that was growing within her. Maybe most especially that little bit of life... "He'll be a great uncle..." She murmured. And she truly did believe that.
Rhian flinched a little when she heard Sean's comment about the baby's grandfather. And then Dean was right on his case. "Sean, that man has no place in this room. And with a father like your brother and an uncle like you, there's not a hope in hell of that happening." She said simply, not a doubt in her voice. She believed it to be 100% true. "He has no place in any of our lives." She said calmly, ever the voice of reason. But there was a violent, mother bear streak within the petite brunette because she knew damned well that she'd blow their son of a bitch father sky high if he ever so much as set foot in Myrtle Beach to hurt either one of her boys or her baby. In fact, the idea of stalking up on some C4 and hand grenades would have been mighty tempting if it weren't for the fact that there would be a baby in the house soon enough.
And then Sean was gone. She sighed as she watched him leave the room. "Oh, I can promise you that. You wouldn't believe the thoughts I've been harboring when it comes to keeping our baby safe." She admitted to him. "And they include all manners of blowing people up." She shrugged, matter-of-factly. And then he was telling her to close her eyes and relax a bit. She smiled and nodded, taking comfort in the fact that she was in his arms again. She just wished they were in their bed at home rather than here, in a hospital bed. But soon enough, she was being roused from the position she'd fallen asleep in and Dean was asking her if she wanted him to carry her home. "No. No.... I'm okay to walk." She promised him with a small smile. "Just grab my clothes?" She asked of him. She waited until he handed her off the PJ bottoms and one of his old t-shirts that she had been sleeping in and quickly threw them all on before nodding in his direction. "All set." She murmured, smiling softly at him.
