. all these tastes improve with the view that comes with you RUBY/NATALIE , 892 , HIKING CLOTHES , ....HE'S SO SAD. </3 it was the worst birthday to be recorded to this day, worse than the one where his friends got arrested and nearly ratted him out so he spent the day in the police station being thrown accustations at him. no, this was far worse because then, the male had nothing to live for and no one to really care about him and he was currently feeling that way again as his wife’s memory had been knocked out of her head and three years were forgotten just like that. he was technically single but sebastian could not imagine his life without the girl, he needed her in his life and even as a friend—that was good enough for him. sighing softly as he finished packing up the car for a family tradition that felt highly obsolete at this moment, sebastian tried to have a positive outlook on the day that was going to come and he hoped that something would jog her memory and she would be in his arms once more. he felt like natalie did not even want to be in his life, or he was not welcomed into hers as she was convinced that the love of her life was her ex-boyfriend who was doing who knows what back in california. it was hard to picture that her heart belonged to someone else in her mind when his heart was fully lying with her at all times. a birthday present to remember would be her remembering him, but he knew that was a long shot as it had been weeks and nothing had changed in her condition. he felt like it was permanent, like she was never going to remember the past so sebastian decided that he would attempt to make a future for them—all over again. no pictures were brought, no stories were hopefully going to be told, this was a new leaf and he was sure that he could make the woman fall head over heels in love with him again. the bottom of the mountain hiking trail was reached by car in no time as sebastian got out and waited as the minutes passed for her to arrive and only when the sound of wheels rolling up and stopping, did sebastian actually pick his head up and smile at the sight before him.
she was still beautiful as ever, so full of life and even though confusion clouded her eyes, he could tell there was understanding there too. she knew who he was, and that was what was fuelling him to keep going on with the plan to reclaim her heart before another did. that thought scared him more than anything but he put on a brave smile and wiped the thought away quickly, ”hey nat and my baby girl..” [/b], referring to his daughter and the nickname that he addressed her as with a term of endearment. his daughter was out of the car as soon as she was unhooked from the carseat and was rushing toward him which sebastian gladly welcomed her into his arms. her smaller arms moved around his neck and hugged him closer as she began to talk about everything under the sun and sebastian could not help but chuckle, ”really now? you saw a brown dog? did mommy let you get the dog?”[/b] he asked, looking to natalie with that same playful smile on his face. it felt right having his wife by his side and his daughter in his arms, a good enough present for him in light of everything that had been happening over the last few months. he had been living in the house by himself, working more, seeing his daughter less, going to therapy counselling for all of this but he did not understand why at this moment as everything felt right again—but it was only an illusion. ”well evie, you know this tradition well enough …and no touching any plants this time..”[/b] he said with a stern voice as the little girl nodded because sebastian did not need to deal with an itchy, posion ivy covered evie like last year. ”but mommy doesn’t remember this tradition so why don’t go ahead and tell her what we do..”[/b] and naturally, the little three year old girl began to babble on with painfully excruciating detail about what the hike was about and then the final touch of having a picnic at the summit and then stargazing. it was a whole day filled outdoors and even better was it was a whole day to be filled with his family. ”I brought your backpack little lady..”[/b] he said while putting evie back on the ground and turning around to the car to fetch the little pink backpack that the daughter was so excited to have placed on her back, ”and I packed stuff for you too…just stuff at the house like change of clothes and stuff if you need it..”[/b] along with the supplies for the picnic but that was all in his large pack. offering his hand to his daughter who gladly took it, he made the daring move to offer his free one to his wife, giving her a smile, ”you ready?”[/b] he asked patiently, just hoping that she took the gesture as friendly and not anything else—or that she just took it at all. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; height: 200px;]things you used to do that made me fall in love tagged: sebastian / wearing: hiking gear / wc: 1039 / ps. (: the guilt was slowly eating her up, killing her each and every day. it has been weeks, and she has remembered nothing. the only reason she knew people by names these days was because she was just relearning them. she was just memorizing little by little. it had been difficult, but she spent day and night just trying to remember who was who. she had tried looking through some of the photo albums that sebastian had sent to her brother, but even then, nothing. nothing sparked her memory and it was frustrating. she felt guilty for living with blake because she was sure he had better things to do than take care of his amnesiac little sister. he had women to chase after, even though she was sure that his flavour of the month was cailin. she wasn't sure whether or not she liked the girl. on the one hand, it was clear the blonde was changing her brother for the better. on the other hand, she was taking not only her brother away from her, but even eveyln. she knew blake was just being a good brother by taking care of evie for her, but she was amnesiac, not disabled. she was perfectly fine with taking care of her own baby girl. that aside, she generally felt extremely incapable of anything because she just simply couldn't remember. and while everyone kept insisting that corey wasn't her boyfriend or whatever, he was what was familiar in her mind. he wasn't a stranger like everyone else. a part of her understood that he wasn't because for the past few weeks, she hasn't seen or even heard from him. she knew he wasn't going to make an appearance any time soon, but her mind was stubborn, and it refused to believe anything otherwise. she wanted to give sebastian the benefit of the doubt, but the thing was, she knew nothing about him. the girl he knew or married or whatever, she wasn't that girl. she didn't exist. at least not to natalie.
but the least she could do was try. she had talked to cailin about it, and while it was difficult for her, it was difficult for everyone else too, and she would try her best to put herself in other people's shoes. she had to admit, everything about sebastian intimidated her. he seemed so angry when he first found out she couldn't remember, and every time after that hasn't exactly been a trip to disneyland either. she understood that he was just upset because she ended up like this, but he had to understand that it was hard for her too. it wasn't that she didn't want to remember or that she wasn't trying because she had been pushing herself to remember. the fact is that she just couldn't, for the the life of her, remember a goddamn thing. it seemed the pressure to remember just piled and piled not only from sebastian, but from herself as well. she didn't want to stay this way. she wanted to remember. she hated knowing she was doing this to a man she supposedly loved. she hated knowing she was making him feel this way, so helpless and lonely. it was her fault that he felt this way. it was her fault that he felt anger and sadness. and she would try her hardest to make it up to him. even if it meant going out on this birthday tradition thingie. she had asked blake about it because she knew he would know. she told him everything, after all. but he was pretty useless when it comes to anything sebastian. he wasn't very useful at all. so she just went with a casual hiking outfit before she settled evelyn in the back seat, driving up towards the mountain with the directions sebastian had given her. not long after, she spotted the familiar male in the distance as she parked her car, unbuckling herself from the seat before she unhooked evie from the car seat.
seeing sebastian now, she thought it would bring back something. maybe a spark or a memory, but all she could feel was the sense of just knowing who he is. she smiled tentatively, "hi sebastian. happy birthday." she said just as her daughter went barreling towards the man. it was weird to see him and her daughter together. even though she knew that sebastian was the biological father now, the bigger part of her mind was still on the same mindset that the father was corey. it was just all so confusing. her memory said one thing, but the facts said another. the way they looked at each other, though, and the way her daughter was so animated around that man immediately sent a tidal wave of guilt over her. another reason why she wanted to remember. she was keeping that man from his daughter. and she was keeping her daughter from her father. it was a cruel thing to do. she was cruel. but it wasn't her fault that her mind insisted on thinking that corey was the father. she said nothing when he looked at her, asking if she had gotten her... their?... daughter the brown dog, letting evelyn do all the talking. to be honest, she had no idea what to say. she grinned at story her daughter gave in extreme detail. it sounded nice. something a family would do. but standing right here, right now, all she felt like was an outsider. she wasn't part of this family. at least that wasn't what it felt like to the natalie that remembered nothing. she smiled shyly at him, "oh, thank you. that's thoughtful of you." she took the backpack from him and placed it on her shoulders. she didn't remember being much of a hiker, but she did love the outdoors as far as she was concerned. she glanced hesitantly at the outstretched hand, biting down on her lower lip nervously before laying her hand in his with a gossamer touch, "sure." she muttered, glancing down at their joined hands before sneaking a glance at him, "thanks for inviting me by the way. i'm sure you would have much rather enjoyed some err.... father-daughter time."
