Dixie Rave Locklan was your average teenager girl, the only difference: she was a rodeo queen and her mother was a multi-billionaire. Professional Barrel Racing was her calling, everything she did revolved around that sport and her mother owned the largest line of western wear, the largest western magazine in the industry, and the largest line of registered barrel racing horses. Dixie's family is very well known, and Dixie's very own blue ribbons ensured that she was known on the circuit. This was typical of all the teenage girls in Luverne, Alabama, to be a part of the rodeo with barrel racing. It was when she was twenty-two years old and in Dallas, Texas when she met Joshua Vincent Wenham. He was an Ivy League blue blood that was visiting Dallas with some of his fellow peers from New Jersey and just so happened to be at the Rodeo where Miss Dixie was competing. After the rodeo was finished and Dixie had qualified for the next round of regionals, the two had ventured back to his hotel and as you guessed it, had sex. With the following day, Dixie and Joshua had parted with the intentions of keeping in contact with one another. Dixie had followed through with her half of the deal, until she discovered she was two months pregnant. By then she had started to love Joshua and she was terrified that the idea of a baby would scare him off because they where just so young - so instead of doing the sensible thing and telling him about their child, she cut off all contact with him and set forward on the path to motherhood. The only reason that Joshua ever found out about his child to be, was complete accident. He had been watching the rodeo circuit, and when her name was mentioned and that she wouldn’t be competing because she was expecting a child, he packed up and headed down there. It wasn’t a month later that the two were married and finally together. The first child of Joshua and Dixie’s was born on a cold day in December; he was perfectly healthy and ready to go home in the next few days. They named him Chance, and he became the center of their whole world. Life for Chance was easy going, everyone loved him and he was the shining star of the Wenham Family. Chance was exactly twelve years old when his mother became pregnant again, he was so excited about becoming a big brother and he had desperately wanted a baby sister so that he could protect and love her all the time. He got his wish, and it was on March third when Dixie went into labor and was rushed to the local hospital, it was at 9:15 p.m. that she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Dixie had the babies name picked out from the moment she found out she was having a baby girl. Annalise Marie Wenham was brought into the world by Dixie, Joshua and a very excited Chance. From the very moment she conceived and then brought into the world, Anna was going to grow up in a very loving home. As a baby, toddler, and then a small child life was just one big adventure for her. Her mother had started competing again, and sweet Annalise had been on a horse before she had learned how to walk. Her mother wanted her used to it, because Anna would one day follow in her steps to becoming the Rodeo Queen. However, her father had bigger dreams for his baby girl and he hoped that she would to follow in his steps and become a lawyer. While Chance wanted her to be whoever she could possibly dream of being, just as long as she always came to him when time got rough, he was happy. As a small child, she was in a lot of pageants and she loved wearing the large frilly gowns and walking out on stage and performing in front of people. With her grandmother’s multi-dollar establishment and her father’s career as a lawyer and her mother’s fame from the rodeo circuit it was safe to say that life for the Wenham children was always an adventure. Right from the start Anna was placed in classes where she would learn to grow and act like a lady should, she would know the proper ways to set a table for dinner, and she would know how to handle herself in situations that involved being able to think critically. Through all of this she developed a love for singing and a love for acting, but has never bothered to pursue anything professional with it. However, it was her love for dance that she finally settled on as a young child. Ballet was her calling and right from the moment she was old enough to know what it was, she was in love. Life couldn’t stay perfect for the Wenham family forever, and it was on Anna's twelfth birthday that they learned just how lucky they had been. Now, at this time Chance is getting ready to graduate high school, he’s been accepted to the same Ivy League University that his father had graduated from and he was on his way to becoming a lawyer. He was a well-loved boy, popular and had loads of friends. A sports fanatic, he was involved in every team that the high school had to offer, he had perfect grades, and even worked for the soup kitchen as a volunteer. He was everything that Dixie and Joshua could ever hope to see in their children. He had been raised up right; everyone had high hopes for the boy. It was a week before he left for the University that tragedy struck the Wenham family. Anna was turning twelve and she was following in the steps of her big brother, only she was a bit more dramatic and more into the popularity scene and always wanting to fit in. It was raining that day, and instead of getting to go with her friends to the movies and then sleep over, her parents made her stay home. Angry with them, she turned to Chance who she knew she could get her way with no matter what. Her parents had left for the evening, having to visit with her grandmother about Dixie taking over the multi-billion dollar line. Chance had agreed to take her to the movies but he wasn’t going to let her stay with her friends over night because he knew he would get in trouble as well. Anna was content with that, she just wanted to make a scene with her friends at the local theater, she wanted to brag about turning twelve before anyone else. Chance really hated driving in the rain at night, especially one like tonight, the rain was coming down in large droplets and he could barely see the road. But he would do anything for Anna, she was his whole world and her happiness was so very important to him. The drive to the movie theater was about thirty minutes long when coming from their estate to town, but that wasn’t much of a bother because the duo was getting to spend time together. The radio was blaring, Chance and Anna where having a great time together it was when the semi-driver beside them on the interstate had fallen asleep, that the tragedy struck. From what Annalise could gather when she woke up a week later, was that Chance’s car had been totaled completely and that she was very lucky to be alive. She had broken ribs, her left arm, her collar bone, and gashed her forehead open. However, when she asked about Chance, everyone in the room would go sullen and tearful. She knew then that her older brother and role model was gone, and from what the doctors had told her, because they were the only people that would bother to talk to her about the situation, he had died instantly. Life changed completely for the Wenham family, but it changed the most for Anna, the sweet little twelve year old blamed herself for the death of her brother. For weeks after the death, Anna refused to eat, she never left her room. At twelve years old, she knew what guilt felt like; she knew that it was her fault that her brother was no longer around. Her parents wouldn't look at her; they submerged themselves into work and started coming home less and less. Eventually her parents even divorced and her father moved away, unable to handle the grief any longer. Anna was left with the nanny, the same loving lady who had always been around for her and Chance. She never played her guitar again after that night, she hardly danced, and she refused to do much of anything. Chance had loved listening to her play every night before they went to bed he loved to watch her dance in her recitals, but she felt like she didn't deserve to be happy she didn't deserve to enjoy life when it had been her fault that Chance no longer got to enjoy his. A young girl who had once been so happy and full of life was now just a empty shell. Chance’s death took part of Anna with him and everyone around could tell that she'd never get it back.Anna hasn't celebrated her birthday since she was tweleve, she dreads the very date so much, she feels like her birthdays are not the time for rejoicing but the time for all of the guilt that she tries to hide and keep under the surface, to bubble up. But things couldn’t always be this bad for Anna now could they? She was turning fifteen soon, and had even started dancing again, she felt like Chance would want her to do that. It was here that she met Ethan, the boy with the charming smile and the soft blue eyes. He was two years older than her and the complete opposite of who she was. It was a relationship that she should have never experienced but it happened. Anna fell in love with him, she dated him for a year and a half and had even given up her virginity to him, she thought he would always be around always be there for her and even though he knew about Chance’s death, he didn’t judge her for it. For the first time in a long time, she felt like she could be herself again and that everything was going to be better. Sadly, that to ended for Anna when she found her loveable boyfriend curled up in bed with her best friend Monica. Let’s just say that not only was a friendship destroyed and forgotten, but so was a relationship and what good it had done to bring Anna back to her former self had completely vanished. Instead of blaming Ethan and Monica for what had happened, she blamed herself. In her mind it was karma coming for her, for what she had done to Chance. She had destroyed his life, so it was only fit that hers be destroyed as well. It was a few weeks after Anna had turned seventeen that the house phone had rang. Anna half hoped that it would be her mother, calling to wish her a happy late birthday or to even check up on her, since she hadn’t seen her mom in weeks. But it was a big surprise when she realized who was on the other end of the phone. It was her father, and he wanted to see her to spend time with her. Apparently he had remarried and they were expecting a child. Annalise wasn’t so sure about everything but with the hopes of at least having one family member in her life, she took a trip that summer to spend it with him it was then that she also learned that she had a half brother named Nathaniel Twist who happened to be around the same age of her. THe knowledge of her dad's affair hit harder than she had liked but she pushed it away, she'd deal with that tid bit of knowledge later on. Eventually she did track down Nate and met him only to find out just how wrong their father had done him . It had gone over well, but the fact that she still blamed herself for her brother’s death and for the fact that her father treated his own son like he didn't exsist had caused her to be a bit bitter. She didn’t want to get to know her half sibling, Jessica. But of course she didn’t act like a heartless bitch around the family, she just chose to sit back and watch, watch just how well her father had been doing since he had run out on her when she was twelve and started another family. Anna returned to Luverne, she continued to talk to her dad but she didn’t visit him again, she never established a friendship with her mother; she didn’t bother trying to talk to her. It was after Anna had graduated high school that she met Shane. What simply started off as a one night stand quickly turned into a week of seeing one another an then gradually turned into months of seeing one another. Shane was fun, he made Anna feel like she didn't have to blame herself for her brothers death - though she had never told him how she felt - time spent with him was time well spent in her opinion. And then it came time for him to leave and Anna was okay with that because she had only been in it for a good time - not for a relationship. What Anna didn't realize was that she was already three months pregnant with his child and when she did find out she had no way to reach him to let him know what was going on. Now Anna was faced to raise a child by herself without the help of her parents. She made it work however, she finished college and got her degree and with the help of the house keeping staff she raised her daughter. It was six months after her daughters third birthday that she received another phone call from her dad – though it wasn’t her dad on the other end. It was her father’s doctor, he was calling to tell her that her father had been diagnosed with Creutzfeldt - Jakob disease; it was inherited from his father’s side of the family. With this disease when symptoms begin to show the victim had only six months before he is unable to care for himself. Anna's father had already been experiencing the symptoms but had passed it off as fatigue and stress, for the past two months. Victims with this disease have only eight months to live; it’s very rare for them to live over it. When asked to move up there and take care of her father, Anna was shocked at to why his wife wasn’t doing it. It was then that she found out that Marianna had divorced her father and taken Jessica with her and didn’t let him see her. After thinking it over she packed up and got a job transfer and became the school nurse at the local high school, and moved to take care of her father, in hopes of reestablishing some sort of bond with him and to let him know his grandaughter before time ran out. Now for Alannah life was fun and exciting and she was getting to meet new people almost every day. At the age of three she was already such a pleasant little girl to be around, always smiling always laughing she was a lot like her mother had been before the accident. The first time that Ally got to meet her own father was when she was spending the day at the park with her mom, between working and taking care of her dying father Ally's mom was stretched thin on time to spend with Ally. Shane had shown up out of the blue and when he was introduced as her father it took Ally all but three or four minutes to take his hand in hers and lead him over to the swings, from then on Shane was a permanant fixture in her life. When Ally was four her grandfather passed away and it nearly broke her mother in half to lose him but with Ally and Shane there to help, Anna made it through. Now much to Ally's displease as she got older her parents never married. They dated occasionally but Ally could tell that her mother was not going to go down that road but rather she was getting to know her fathers doctor more and more. When Ally was seven years old her mother married Jason Scott and they remained together from then on. Ally would get to see her father on the weekends and on some holidays but she never really got over the fact that everyone else seemed to have both of their parents in the same house. Ally's life was easy going, she was always given what she wanted and what she needed by all of her parents and when she was nine her mother gave birth to another baby, Arizona Scott. Middle school eventually roled around for Ally and that was a time of bullying and heartbreak. Her first serious boyfriend she met in the seventh grade and she dated him for nine months until he broke up with her during their eight grade year and proceeded to date one of the few girls that Ally couldn't stand. At thirteen you believe your in love so it took her some time to get over the boy, and to have your best friends turn on her because of the boy and take his side it was tough and nearly impossible to get through. but when high school roled around things became increasingly easier and she found herself with a new group of friends, ones who loved her and treated her well. Ally had her share of boyfriends as she grew and she eventually gave away her virginity to a guy named Merrick but that relationship only lasted a few months. Now that shes out of highschool and working on her second year of college Ally is working at the local library where she reads to younger children and helps stock the books back on the shelf and at night she hits every club she can find, running rampid with her friends. Shes your typically twenty year old and life was easier on her than it was for her mother. |
