Well, it's kind of difficult to describe this kid but one can try. A charismatic but crazy kid who tends to live life on the edge of his seat...actually more like he grabs life by the gonads and dives in. There's not a day goes by that Haiden Schraft is not doing his best to live every moment he spends awake as much as possible and as fulfilling as possible. Happiness is Haiden, Haiden is not happy. His energy tends to make others cringe since he's very bouncy, quite literally. He cannot sit still, might not help that he doesn't take his ADHD medication because it makes him too calm, so he was always getting into tons of trouble in school for bouncing, twitching, fidgeting, and the like. He tended to channel most of his energy into Lacrosse and singing rather than using his energy to study. Now, that's not to say that Haiden got horrible grades, he got excellent grades, but he could have done better. [/style]Maybe if he wasn't so worried about everyone else being happy he would have been able to concentrate better. It doesn't matter if this boy doesn't know someone, if they seem sad or upset he attempts to comfort them. Even if it's just by smiling, he's trying so hard to make them happier and ok. Parts of his life were spent in a depression that he doesn't wish to recall and if someone else can be saved, then he's going to do it. This leads to him being a little too sensitive sometimes and if people take advantage of that part of him, then they had better see their way out the door. Even though he is the most loyal of the loyal people in the world, if you cross Haiden Schraft you had better pray that you still have your loins attached in the morning. Haiden doesn't forgive easily. Call him stubborn, call him an asshole, call him what you wish, but if you think it's wise to hurt him then you don't deserve to be his friend. There's no reason to stab someone in the back or talk trash or say horrible things to them, you just need to reevaluate your life at that point. Being so hyper has it's disadvantages too, ya know. Most people have a filter of some sort, they've been taught to think about what they're going to say and then speak. Nope. Not Haiden. This Southern boy definitely doesn't have that sometimes, especially if he's mad. It takes a hell of a lot to make him mad and even when you get him there, he tends to just walk away. Being raised in Rome, Georgia kind of makes him have very serious manners but when you make him see red, those manners go out the window. He's simply brash about things and will be forthright with things that he believes should be made known or need to be important to others. It has caused him friends, relationships and the like, but to him it was needed. In general, though, Haiden's a wonderful guy who just craves love. Haiden was raised in the deep South where sweet tea is what you drink day in and day out, and you had to be up at 4:30 to do your chores before you went off to the county school and then came home to do more chores. His summers were spent doing farm work with his brothers, going home to momma for lunch before returning to the fields. That was the life, it really was. When Haiden was born, his twin and him were the fifth and sixth boy in the Schraft family home. Twins ran in the family quite heavily and they were the third set of twins to their still relatively young parents. Haiden and Hunter were pretty much inseparable, they did quite literally everything together when they were little. Climbed trees, broke arms, helped dad and their older brothers, bugged mom, and shared the same room. It was like the world was just meant for these boys to be in it because no one could resist how cute they were. The Schrafts were known in their town for their generosity, from donations of money, to food, and it went as far as donating machinery to a farmer in desperate need of help. The community had helped them in a time of need, so in turn they helped the community. Small farming towns were like that, and Haiden is beyond thankful he grew up in that atmosphere. One night the boys were out on the back 1,000 acres with their dad doing some work stacking hay that they had baled earlier that day. They were halfway through when their dad said they had to go back to the house, which the boys most certainly didn’t object to. Most of the boys went to shower so they didn’t see their mom and dad leave together, leaving the two oldest boys in charge. Haiden was still awake when his mother returned without their dad, Aislinn didn’t say a word, she just woke each boy up. All 9 of the boys piled into the living room for a family meeting, some asking where their dad was but Aislinn kept her mouth shut until they settled. Then she broke the news that their dad had had a heart attack out in the field, had noticed the symptoms and when they got to the hospital, he had passed away. Their dad was gone. Just like that. So, the boys trudged on to keep the far alive. Their Uncle would come down to help them get the hang of the farm work, showing them that farm work was harder than they thought. Jake and Keelan dropped out of their senior year of high school to take over the farm work, Dylan followed quickly after and his twin, Bret, dropped out not long after that. Haiden and his twin Owen finished school, but immediately went to working on the farm. The help was needed, but the boys made Liam and Sam, the youngest twins, stay in school along with the youngest brother, Mason. Life was running in a different direction than they ever thought. The community helped them get through it all and soon the boys had the farm running like it had before. Haiden met his first love during that time. A beautiful, tall, brunette farm girl named Melanie who captured his heart so fast it was almost like a Romeo and Juliet tale. Only difference was their families got along really well. Oh how Haiden loved that girl, she was just right for him and she was always around. She was a little tom-boyish but he loved that, she wasn’t too girly and wasn’t afraid to get filthy dirty. People even imagined them staying together for a long time, until at 19 she decided to go back to college. All of a sudden Haiden’s world crashed because he was no longer going to have his girl around but he was willing to do the distance thing. Until she stated she wanted a break, and he agreed to do it for her happiness. Of course Melanie found a city-boy at school to date and Haiden was left single back home. Oh well, time to keep working. So, he just worked his ass off on the farm until the worst thing possible happened a year later. The boys were out cleaning their silage silos because they needed to fill them with this years stock of silage and there were some clogs in the pipelines. Jake and Owen were up one, Keelan and Liam another with Haiden and Dylan down the bottom cleaning up down there. It was a normal process, their mother was even chipping in and helping out any way she could. Haiden yelled something up to his brothers and received a yell in return, followed by Jake screaming. He looked up and saw Owen falling from the top of the silo towards him and Dylan, so they attempted to catch him. It didn’t fare well for any of them. Haiden broke his arm, Dylan his arm and two fingers, and Owen his neck. Ambulances came…but it was too late. The fall had killed Owen almost instantly despite his brothers blocking his fall. That rocked the family hard. Jake, Dylan, Keelan, and Bret decided to stay, keep the farm going but Haiden wanted out. Even if it was just for a few years, he wanted out so he packed his things and left. At 19 years old he was leaving his farm and moving North somewhere where he wouldn’t have to deal with the tragedies that he would have to face each day. So, Haiden settled in Myrtle Beach where he figured he could get some taste of the city life that he had avoided for so long. He found he hated it but it was so much better than living back home, facing the farm where both his dad and twin were killed. Life kind of just trucked on and he didn’t pay mind to anyone except himself. He had to be happy, there was no way he was going to not be happy since he needed it. When he settled down in Myrtle Beach, he opened up a Lacrosse shop and started a few leagues for the area since it seemed no one had any. He created a beach league that plays multiple days a week and he plays in them sometimes. He gave up his favorite sport after his dad died, so he was going to make himself happy. Being happy was what would keep him sane, so he found ways to stay happy in a city he hated. Now he’s 21, still facing his demons every day but managing to stay happy as much as possible. |
