the male had to search his thoughts, diving into his memory to pull out bits and pieces of little information, details, about Delilah. he had her favorite flowers, favorite ice cream, the single cupcake, a new paint set, just the little things that made Delilah who she was were now going to be presented to her along with the ring that was sitting in his pocket but would eventually be resting on the top of the cupcake as though it was a common topping. the shower cooled him off, feeling refreshed as he emerged into his kitchen with nothing but a towel wrapped around his body just to get a peek at the cupcake that was sitting on the counter, making sure that everything was still intact—icing, wrapping and all. his security system would alert him of anyone or anything trying to get into the apartment and while his valuables were an after-thought, the idea of the cupcake being stolen had his heart racing and his fingers poised on the gun that he always kept close. seeing that it was still in safe and edible condition, the male returned to getting ready for the evening’s festivities. the girl had already said yes, though his proposal was rather unconventional, so why was he so nervous? the words of what he was going to say were not rehearsed in front of a mirror, they were spoken to outloud as his body leaned against the counter counter and mixed with his hot skin while staring at the ring that was now resting beside the cupcake, still in the box and poised as if ready to pop the question all on it’s own. sighing softly, river rushed a hand through his hair in an attempt to calm his nerves, glancing at the clock every few minutes to check the time but not moving to get ready for the actual event.
everything was already set up on the beach, the only piece that was missing was himself standing at the end of the row of candles and petals of her favorite flower. he had finished getting ready, putting on a pressed shirt and a pair of black slacks that were form fitting enough and headed out the door. picking out of a choice of two cars, he picked the more realistic one that still held some worth in the appearance as river was well aware of delilah’s love for fast cars and he had hoped that she would be riding in the passenger side at the end of the night. his apartment was meant to be hers, his car was his, his heart was now going to be claimed by the brunette that had captivating him in the most heinous of situations. her beauty outshone everything in that blood and lust filled room, and pulling her out of that estate was the best thing that river had ever done. speeding along the road, fast enough to be there with more than enough time to spare but slow enough so that he was not caught up in a conversation with a cop, river arrived at the beach in a matter of minutes and found everything to be perfect. the cupcake was tucked in the container, staying there until river felt his hands were steady enough to hold it as he walked the line of candles and petals with a round of butterflies swirling around his stomach along with the three cupcakes that he had eaten that day. fishing the jacket off the chair, the male slid his arms through the sleeves, effectviley hiding any weapon that was strapped to the band of his pants before looking up to the sound of her voice. he had not been prepared enough as his eyes roamed up her body until they met her eyes and the unstoppable smirk tugged at the ends of his lips. ”so…yea, I thought that we needed to do this the proper way. so..” |
he spoke while slowly lowering himself onto one knee, his eyes never leaving hers, ”I never intended for this to happen but what started out as a joke turned too serious for me….you are beautiful, witty, dynamic, perfect in every single way and the thought of anyone else having you is a painful one..”, taking a deep breath that was filled with all the emotions that he was pouring out, ”I know I continue to remind you that I was your hero that day…but it’s cause I don’t want to be forgotten by you and it was the only thing that I had to go by. now, I don’t think you can forget your fiancé..”, his hand shakily reaching for hers while giving a soft chuckle out of pure nervousness. the perfect cupcake, swirled with her favorite two colors as a topping and the old fashioned looking ring rest on top was presented in the palm of his other hand, shaking as a result of his own anxieties. ”don’t eat it too fast, as you can see…there is a ring there, a ring that just..screamed you. a classic beauty with a modern twist. so..”, finding that his speech was falling into the more improvised version that what he had practiced, his thumb stroking the skin of her palm, brushing over the spot where the ring would sit, ”will you marry me?” he asked, his eyes suddenly falling to the ground with the complete breakdown of his confidence, wondering what would happen if the female had changed her mind.[/div]

THIS POST IS THE AMAZING AND SEXY SASS WITH HER CHARACTER, DELILAH . [/classy][/classy] | [atrb=valign,top][classy=DelP1]Delilah had woken up groaning at her alarm blaring at her only to look at the numbers and yelp as she realized she must have hit snooze a few times and jumped out of bed rushing around to pull on clothes and brush her hair and teeth. Snagging her bag off the chair where she’d dropped it the day before as she hopped by it pulling on her shoes and snagging her keys from the table by the door. Racing through the halls in her building she took the stairs instead of screwing with the elevator when she knew it would take forever and burst through the doors on the main floor almost running into a guy who was coming in and calling out a quick “sorry” as she kept going heading outside and straight for her car. Jumping into the drivers seat she dumped her bag on the passengers side making sure she had her student parking pass quickly before pulling out and racing toward the university. Most days she’d just walk to the school not wanting to leave her baby in the school parking lot where anyone could bump into it or put a scratch on the car she adored for all its modifications and extras that made it her little speed machine. She’d never make it in time running though so today she would have to just worry about it sitting in the parking lot at risk.
Driving in a way that would give Jay a run for his money she made it onto campus in record time and zipped into a spot about four seconds before someone else ignoring the horn blaring at her, the shouting, and the flipped finger. She gathered her bag watching the other car drive off before climbing out of the car and locking it by pressing the button over her shoulder as she started running again. Satisfied with the chirp of the lock behind her she added more speed and rushed toward the building where the class that started in about two minutes was. Making it to the door she checked the time and swore under her breath cracking the door to peek inside and choosing her moment careful to slip inside and into the chair nearest the door next to a familiar face that was smirking at her. ”Not a word Jake.” she mumbled breathing a little hard from her mad-dash and glad she’d made it in time that she wouldn’t be targeted for wandering in late. Digging into the bag she grabbed the notebook for this class and opened it to begin taking the notes since the teacher was already talking not having wasted any time.
She settled in to the lesson until about halfway through when a scrap of paper landed on her desk and she glanced at Jake lifting an eyebrow at his “note passing” before reading what was written. Lookin a hot mess today De. Guessing you haven’t heard about the party yet, wanna go with me? We can both be late tomorrow morning together if you want. rolling her eyes she glanced toward the front of the class before scribbling a message back. Gee thanks. And no thanks. Got a hot date tonight with… she paused in writing as she looked at the paper realizing that while writing the “my friend” as she’d planned to was still right it wasn’t really anymore in a sense. She felt a smile forming on her lips as she realized that River had become more than a friend last night…as long as he was serious. my guy. she finished and dropped the paper on Jake’s desk before refocusing on her notebook thought her mind wasn’t on the class anymore.
With the mornings rush to get to class and not thinking past getting there on time she wasn’t surprised at the lack of “hey Delilah do you remember agreeing to marry a guy last night” moments but now that she was thinking about other things she chewed her lip as she spun her pen through her fingers. She wished she was in one of her art classes where sitting and doing not much of anything was “artistic expression” because you were thinking about what to paint and getting your vision about it but she didn’t and she put the pen on the notebook doodling instead knowing she could ask someone else to see their notes later. She couldn’t get her mind off of River now that it had gone there, his proposal that she thought was a joke at first, and honestly it probably was, but had become serious after. She couldn’t help but wonder if he’d been joking all along and she was an idiot who believed it or if he was serious and they were for real engaged now. Thinking about it reminded her of Jay and Rya being so set against it and she frowned a little wondering why they had been like that. Rya was her best friend, shouldn’t your best friend support you not tell you no and not to do it or things like that? Looking up as her shoulder was tapped she glanced around seeing everyone packing up and leaving the room and followed suit gathering her own things and heading out knowing she had two more classes that day and then she would be meeting up with the man himself at the beach.
By the end of the day she couldn’t remember what her lessons had been about other than general vague descriptions really, she’d been too wrapped up inside her own head to pay attention. Heading home she stopped at the store to grab a few things and by the time she parked the car in her spot at the apartment building she was nervous about going to the beach not sure what to think or what he was going to say…maybe he’d be filling her in that he’d been joking or maybe they’d be talking about being engaged for real? She couldn’t be sure but she dropped her bag looking at the blank wall just inside her door and figured she could distract herself for awhile till she had to get ready to go. Putting away the food-stuff she’d bought she grabbed her paints and moved to the wall starting to just follow the lines in her head not sure what the big picture was but willing to let it flow and find out after.
Her phone broke her out of her painting when the alarm she’d set for herself went off and she turned it off before glancing at the wall looking at the archway she’d painted that led into a busy street and felt a little like she could step through and walk along that path with those people. The archway wasn’t finished though it had the makings of seeming to just have appeared on her wall not originally built there. Shaking her head at herself she cleaned everything up being careful to put it all away before grabbing a shower to get the paint off and picking something new to wear. The beach was a casual thing in her mind, so she just picked out something comfortable to wear after drying her hair and pulled on her coat not in the ‘running late’ rush she’d been in that morning as she gathered her purse and keys heading out. The walk wasn’t too long and she was glad it wasn’t too chilly since driving there would mean finding a parking spot and even this time of year the beach still drew people at all times so it was a 50/50 on getting a decent spot or having to walk anyway.
As she got closer she felt herself getting a little nervous with each step. If he’d been joking she’d brush it off and laugh along while they talked and if he was serious…well she’d already said yes once. When she made it to the beach she began to make her way to where they were meeting she was surprised to find the set up he’d arranged, taking in the candles and petals she smiled as she followed the obvious line of them right to the man himself seeing him shrugging on a jacket. ”River? she called out to him watching as he turned to look at her smiling at him. She couldn’t help but appreciate how good he looked dressed up as he was, couldn’t help but want to reach out and touch him to see if she was dreaming or if this was all reality. When he began speaking bit her lip watching as he dropped to one knee her eyes staying on his not having expected this at all to be honest. He’d already done the proposal part…but she wouldn’t argue against it.
Listening to him speak, she wanted to say something back, tell him that she didn’t want anyone else to have her or that he was crazy thinking she could forget him, but she held herself back from interrupting him. Giving his hand a gentle squeeze as he took hers and at his nervous chuckle she looked at the cupcake eyes widening in surprise at the ring on top. It was beautiful and suited her perfectly and she smiled as he told her not to eat it too fast and explained why. As he asked her and looked away she moved her free hand to touch his cheek hooking her fingers under his jaw to make him look up at her again so she could meet his eyes. ”I already said yes once River…I’m not changing my mind now so yes I will marry you.” she said softly her voice strong though quiet as she spoke showing she was sure of her decision. Smiling at him she lent down to kiss his lips. ”Still have stuff to learn about me if you thought I’d say anything but yes today.” she said lightly hoping to help lift his nerves. [/classy] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true][/style][atrb=style, width: 525px; border-bottom: 20px #0B1F39 solid, bTable]THOUGH MY EDGES MAY BE ROUGH i never feel i'm quite enough, it might not seem like very much but i'm yours [style=height: 305px; width: 255px; margin-right: -520px; font-size: 8.5px; font-family: tahoma; text-align: justify; line-height: .9; text-transform: lowercase; overflow: auto; scrollbar-base-color:#71200E; color: #000;]was the pressure in the chest a normal feeling when about to propose to a girl that you barely knew, cause that was what river was feeling through the phone calls and preparation and the baking, pressure. he felt that he needed to make it special for her as she had actually agreed to marry a complete stranger and not one with an normal profession. he must have been out of his mind when asking the question to her which at first had been a joke and now, it was all that he could think about doing with his life. a family or a sense of normalcy was far out of the reach for him and it seemed that she had never been normal or had a steady lifestyle, so why not intertwine the two lives together? river was sure that love was going to come out of this in the end and the undying need to shelter her in the way that his friend did with his girlfriend. oddly, marriage had actually crossed the male’s mind more than once but there was never a face attached to the idea of it until now. he had laid in bed late at night, trapped in the mansion of his adoptive father, peering into the darkness while going over the training tips that had been demonstrated for him, or on him, and would imagine a life filled with normal people, going to a normal school and being an all-around commoner but that was never river’s life and it was never destined to be his life. now, he felt a sense of a commoner feel to himself as he was doing something that an average man would be doing at some point in their life and he was doing it around the scheduled time that most males had for their lives. he was twenty-two years old and had nothing to live for, but now, he had a reason to not care to be pierced with a bullet in the middle of a shoot-out. he had someone to come home to, cuddle with, spill emotions with and be an all-around normal person with whilst dragging her into his own uncommon world of crime and punishment. he knew that delilah’s life was going to be different now but she had been aware of how different her life had been since he had entered it until ryanne had to mention the use of bodyguards which was something that delilah had now. she actually had a bodyguard from the time that even a sliver of care had been shown for her and that was the day of her rescue from the hands of a monster who river would gladly put into his place once more.
the need for love and comfort was a good drive to push river to make the drastic change from a joke to a reality, but it was also the simple innocent, doe-eyed who captivated his attention since the moment that the picture had been shown. simply, he was falling for a girl that he hardly knew and yet, felt like he knew everything that he needed to know. river had seen her smile, tear up, be in pain, he knew the details of her life due to the background check but he also knew the details of her personality, her likes and dislikes and river figured that the rest would be figured out in time. time was not something that he often thought of having, always picturing himself dying young and tragic in the middle of a cop to criminal battle, but that image was slowly fading away and he was seeing himself growing old with the girl, being there for her until his very end because he was confident that his life would end before hers as the mere thought of living without her was painful. he wanted her in his life and a wife was the best ticket to be so, the dazzling, shattered girl had managed to rock the foundation of his believe that love was never going to happen for him and she did it in a short amount of time. his thoughts were all jumbled together as he made his way to the beach with a car that was flashy but nothing special, the echo of the purring engine in his seat was oddly calming though and river was feeling more and more at ease with the idea of the shotgun proposal. the less that he thought about it, the more the idea seemed doubtful and so, river allowed his mind to be consumed of everything that related to the future wedding and the present engagement. the job that he had to perform had been put onto the backburner for now and delilah engulfed his thoughts. pulling up to the beach, he got out of the car with the single cupcake protected by the plastic container that was in his shaking hands, and stared at the set up that he had asked for. there was not a single flower out of place, everything appeared to be perfect and for once, river did not wish to have any witnesses to this moment and sent his security away to be a nuisance elsewhere as this was about him and her and their locked lives together.
the beach was empty and with the sun setting in the background, the scene was the definition of perfection. he had been mumbling the words to himself in an attempt to get everything right but knew that when the moment came, his tongue would be in a knot and improvising would come into play but the thought of being even a little prepared put his mind at ease to the situation. his name on her lips pulled himself out of his own mind and throes of words that caused him a great deal of grief in forming coherent sentences while looking over to her. chuckling, he took in her attire and could not help but find her even more irrestible than usual as she was standing in such casual clothing for an important event in her life. ”hey…” |
he whispered back, allowing the wind to carry his words instead of the volume of his own voice as he was at a loss for anything to be said at the moment while looking at her simple look and seeing nothing but a classic beauty and complete elegance. sighing softly, he realized that this was the moment where he could not be a screw up and had to say everything and do everything correctly in order for her to say yes to him once more. lowering himself to the ground, his black slacks touching the red carpet that was lined across a small stretch of the beach, he sucked in a deep breath and spoke with a rationalized voice, keeping his emotions strong as he was taught. training came in handy for moments like these but river was assured that she was not hiding a gun or about to turn her back against him and walk away from it all but at the same time, he wanted her to that. it was a morbid thought that was seeding in his mind as he kneeled down on the ground and no matter how many positive thoughts bubbled up, this one negative side to everything was sitting there. he was writing her death certificate at this moment and she was signing it as anyone that entered his world, his and jarred’s world, died in that world. there was no escaping, there was no hesitation in agreeing to be a wife of someone with power and a dangerous edge to him—and she wasn’t hesitating. she was demanding in her tone and it caused him to chuckle as his head was lifted up and his eyes met hers, ”I just needed to hear it, in person and give you the proposal that you deserved Delilah. your life has been such shit...hell after another and I wanted you have a good, solid memory…”, his thumb brushing the skin at the back of her hand, drawing mindless designs. ”saying yes is signing…” but maybe that was too strong of a word to use, as delilah did have an out and that was a divorce but the care that he felt for her would never die and that would always make her a target, ”it’s just a really hard life to get out of. I would know, jarred would know to…we have tried. once you’re in Delilah, you’re in for life..” and he needed to hear it once more. the single word resulted in that cloud of doubt to slowly fade and it did not even have to be the answer to a question but she had said yes, she had agreed to it. slipping the ring out of the frosting, he wiped the remainder of the frosting off the surface of the band and slipped the ring onto her ring finger, the icing making a good lubricant for sliding. ”I’m…so glad that you said yes.”. slowly rising to his feet but not letting go of her hand. he could not let her go just yet and with a smirk to his lips, cocky in all means, he cupped her cheek with his free hand, pulling her closer with the other and pressing his lips to hers in their first kiss as a couple, an engaged couple. river was hungry for her and his kiss grew urgent but he suddenly recalled how he even got to meet the girl and quickly unlatched his lips from her own. he leaned forward and allowed their foreheads to touch, letting out a deep apologetic sigh and just tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, content in their position.[/div]

THIS POST IS THE AMAZING AND SEXY SASS WITH HER CHARACTER, DELILAH .
