well then it's probably is she says it seems to good to be true . storms and the irish did not mix, at least when it came to the irish blood that rushed through this blonde’s veins. and to make matters worse, she was alone for the time being until jarred would return. her best friend, delilah, had been taken by river to another safe house as the apartment had felt too crowded. she felt her body fall into a fit of shakes, trying to calm herself with a cup of coffee but the procedure was seemingly harder this time as she jumped to the sound of the howling wind moving through the crevices of the window. wincing, her hand was pressed to her chest, feeling her racing heart and trying to slow down her breathing to an extent while grounding the coffee beans into the machine. the aroma surrounded her and she took a rather large whiff of the air around her, wishing for a pair of warm arms to wrap around her body at the same time. nothing though, and as soon as the room was illuminated, it turned dark and the grounded ceased, leaving ryanne with a small cup of coffee in her possession and a dark apartment to stare into. reaching around her blindly, her eyes having yet to adjust to the darkness, her fingers feeling the drawer handles and counting down and across. pulling open what she thought could be the correct drawer, her fingers dove into feeling everything that the drawer contained, wincing as something nicked the skin of her delicate digits and causing her to yelp, pulling her hand back to her chest. ”son of a bitch!” she yelled outloud, into the silence and into the darkness while finally feeling around, being more careful with the second attempt, until her fingers found the flashlight. flicking the switch, she shined the illuminating light onto her cut finger, seeing the familiar red liquid sliding down her porcelain skin. wincing, she brought the finger to her mouth, sucking the blood and trying to ignore the metallic taste that it left. her head picked up, finger dropped out of her mouth to the sound of rustling, |I’m going to kill him..” she muttered, searching due to the uncertainty of where the noise was coming from. it was growing louder though and she could hear muffled voices but nothing that was actually familiar to her. green eyes searched the room, finding the area where the lights of security would calm her nerves but there was nothing but darkness and her heart began to race. picking up the nearest object, a coffee cup, ryanne did not even think to grab the gun that was stashed in the cabinets or the knives that were laying on the counter—the coffee cup seemed like the best weapon. lifting it over her head, she hurled the cup at the opened door and the dark figure standing there [/div]

He’d gotten a few bits of information that he’d wanted and collected a dog that he’d found out wandering the streets. It’s home was across town and he was just not doing that in the storm since it would mean being away from home even longer than necessary and he wasn’t into that idea with the way Rya kept trying to talk him into coming home now not later and while he wanted to give in he needed to finish what he was doing. Leaving his last stop he climbed back into the car looking at buster who’d shifted into the passenger seat he shook his head. ”If I didn’t have a soft spot for dogs you’d be out of this car for leaving that towel I put down for you back there.” he grumbled and pulled out heading for home as the winds got worse.
Pulling into his normal parking spot he glanced over at the dog again then out the front window of the car considering how the rain was falling hard. ”No two ways about it buster, we’re gonna get wet.” he said with a sigh as he lifted the dog into his arms and opened the door kicking it closed behind him and hitting the button on his keys to lock it. Moving fast to get inside he shifted his hold on the dog as he wagged his tail as if excited, crazy animal who seemed to love water if the puddle he’d been playing in was any sign. Moving to the stairs he took those up pausing for a moment as the power went out so he could let his eyes adjust. ”Fuckin wonderful.” he grumbled moving up the rest of the stairs and toward his apartment digging his keys out of his pocket to unlock the door before pushing it open. The flying object that hit him in the head had him grunting in pain as he stumbled back slamming his shoulder on the doorframe. ”Damn it Rya! How the hell do you have perfect aim in the dark?” he asked moving back into the apartment kicking the door closed and locking it before setting the dog down and reaching up to rub his head where a bump was forming.

well then it's probably is she says it seems to good to be true . sarcasm had always been ryanne’s coping mechanism when she was hit with the sudden fear of losing her life, or losing someone in her life. she came off as cold and uncaring but she had more care for the world than most people gave her credit for, at this moment, she had no one to be sarcastic with as the rain poured down and the wind buckled against the windows of the penthouse apartment. with darkness now surrounding her, ryanne was gripping onto the counter for dear life in an attempt to calm herself down. she was not all that skilled when it came to the bite aspect of her fighting skills as her tongue was the thing that did the lashing most of the time. her fists were fly but she was not actually capable of producing too much damage in that department most of the time. sighing, she tried to quell the negative thoughts, wondering when the attack would come now that the security system was out and when the door began to rattle, ryanne was caught off guard. she had no idea what she had reached for until her fingers wrapped around the familiar handle of the coffee cup and she swung it as the door opened. her eyes widened as the cup flew out of her hand, covering her mouth and gasping but she could not help but feel some pride as the object hit the target and she took a step back. ”don’t com..” but the thick irish accent and the feeling of a dog sniffing her leg ceased her momentary threat and she narrowed her eyes, ”I was taught by the best, or she just had sheer dumb luck when it came to this particular moment. bending down, she pat the dog on the head, ruffling his ears and then shown the flashlight in jarred’s direction, allowing herself to check him over for any physical damage besides the bump that will come to his head, ”about time that you got home! thought you were a fucking burglar or something..” she grumbled, moving to stand up and walk closer to him. rolling her eyes, she smacked his hand away from his own head, inspecting the scalp with her flashlight, ”you’re fine.” she said, bringing her lips to the side of his head and then smacking him on the other side, ”asshole! I told you to come home before the power went out..”, her hands waving, the flashlight in her hand, gesturing to the notion that the lights were out and he was late.[/div]

He knew it but at times it still irked him whether he wanted it to or not. Today though he didn’t let it when they’d been chatting because it was her way of dealing with fear over this incoming storm. He just let it slide without making any of his own sarcastic or snarky comments…intentionally. He couldn’t help that it slipped out sometimes without him meaning it too. Making it to the apartment building finally he was actually glad to be out of the wind and rain since it had made visibility hard and had slowed him down to the actual speed-limit instead of the ones that existed only in his head. He knew it was risky but he was a risk-taking sort of guy and that was just how it went with him since that wasn’t something that would change any day soon. He’d managed the driving just fine as he’d told her he would and walking in unharmed would be proof of that…until it wasn’t.
The cup hitting his head was an unwelcome attack and while he would have normally reacted by drawing his weapon he’d stopped himself mentally before his hand could even twitch toward action. It was Rya, she was freaked by the storm and in the dark she wouldn’t know right off that it was him. Those were the excuses he fed himself for why she’d throw a cup at his head though she would probably have done it even if she’d seen him because he’d even been out during the storm at all. ”Yeah well no more lessons for you in things that could hurt me.” he grumbled rubbing his head lightly on the spot and watching through the dark as she reached to pet the dog. Holding up to block the light from his eyes he frowned. ”Stop it with the damned light, my eyes are already adjusted to the dark so don’t go blinding me less you want to find out just how many colorful curses I know when I go bumping into the furniture.” he said dropping his hand when she moved to come closer to him and the light shifted away a bit. Watching her warily he let her look at his head and closed his eyes when she used the flashlight near his eyes to see the spot. ”Yeah I’m fine till we find out I have a fucking concussion since that lumps not small Ryanne.” he said growled at her when he was smacked. ”Hit me one more time with some thrown object or you hand and I’m going back out into the storm to find somewhere else to wait it out where I won’t get brain damage.” he warned her and lifted an eyebrow at her snorting. ”I was one floor down on the stairs when the power went out. I was home just not in the apartment. Calm down please.” he said leaning to give her a quick kiss before stepping back and pulling off his hat and coat reaching back to hit the locks on the door since the security system was out.

well then it's probably is she says it seems to good to be true . the good news was that she had a good shot but that skill would be lost when the moment came to actually needing it. giving a low sigh as she heard the shouting, she shook her head in dismissal of the idea that it was an enemy of her boyfriend’s set on revenge, and instead, it was her boyfriend who would probably be out for revenge. ”yea we’ll see how long that one lasts.” she spoke with a snort, moving closer to him after having introduced herself to the dog who was now happily laying in the middle of the living room floor. ”it seems friendly.” she commented, a smirk on her lips of the irony of her words because ryanne was currently a force that should not be messed with at this moment but she inspected the rather large bump, shining the light on the floor to locate the cup and shrugging, ”surprised your hard head did not break it, sparky.”, reaching up and pressing a kiss to the bump as a motherly figure would do which ryanne was. she was rather motherly when it came down to it and she needed to be careful about who she smothered sometimes because though she had a good maternal instinct, the woman did not have the best mouth and she often said hurtful things in order to get the point across that said person was doing something that was rather idiotic. ”you aren’t going to have a concussion. you have been knocked to the head so much harder, it’s a cup sparky, relax. you’re not bleeding and it’s just a bump, not even a red one.”, taking the kiss with a grain of salt before brushing a hand through her hair, ”you wouldn’t do that..” she mumbled, waiting for him to finish undressing before placing the flashlight on the sidestand by the couch and moved her arms around him, ”and no way to make coffee..this really, really fucking sucks.”, speaking into his shirt with a muffled voice but feeling her shakes finally dying down as ryanne was well aware of how safe she was in his arms. He wasn’t too worried since his back up security system was himself with a gun in his hand but that didn’t mean she wasn’t worried and he should have thought more about that before walking into the apartment since it could be him or any of his enemies who wanted to get revenge for this that or the other. Of course his enemies would have to be absolutely crazy to go out in this shit now that it was getting even worse so he figured they’d be okay for now since crazy and suicidal didn’t actually have the same definition though popular belief was that they did. ”Guess I should just be glad you didn’t take a shine to guns then.” he mumbled knowing he’d teach her anything he knew to keep her safe that she was willing to learn. Glancing toward the dog as she looked away from the lump on his head he shook his head a little and sighed, ”Likes water…was in a puddle on the wrong side of town when I spotted him. I’ll take him home once the storm passes or to the center if they’re not at home. Some kids probably sobbing over not having buster there with them or something.” he said ignoring the reference that could be made to rya being far less friendly than the dog for his own safety.
Unable to resist rolling his eyes as she mentioned his hard head not breaking it he smiled sweetly at her and the kiss, ”Could test it against the woman with the hardest head I know?” he said obviously talking about her but knowing he’d never throw anything at her head intentionally. He honestly loved the woman too much to do anything with the goal being her getting hurt somehow, normally he was trying very hard to prevent her from being injured in any way by anything. ”I go away a little while and you get a doctors license? Wow that’s impressive.” he said sarcastically as she diagnosed his bump and the lack of any “serious” injury to come from being hit with the cup. He knew he’d been hit harder, he’s been there for it but he’d also had a concussion before and knew they sucked so he could bitch about them knowing what could have potentially happened if she’d thrown it harder. ”You’re not supposed to know that though…makes the threat fail horribly.” he said his tone softening a bit to something more playful as he wrapped his arms around her kissing her cheek then the side of her head. ”Sorry I wasn’t home sooner angel.” he said and chuckled at her words rubbing her back gently as he felt the shakes now that she was pressed against him but glad they seemed to be stopping. ”You are forever insulting me.” he mumbled shaking his head and resting his cheek against the side of her head a moment enjoying having her in his arms. ”I have a generator that we’re putting on the balcony and they can get fucked if they have a problem with it since their back-ups are shit as I’ve told them many times now. We’ll have a little power and the neighbors that normally give us headaches will be the ones with headaches for awhile from it.” he said knowing they couldn’t run the generator constantly but for things they needed they could just turn the little machine on. He had extra gas in the trunk of his car for if they ran out since he’d thought to get some before the storm truly hit and closed everything.

well then it's probably is she says it seems to good to be true . ryanne had an impulsive to the sound of the door rattling which resulted in the cup being thrown and she was thankful that it hit the target, jarred, since her fist did not actually have to fly at this moment. the blanket fell away from her body and returned to the couch where it usually resided as she rushed over to him and shrugged, ”then I would have missed.” and ryanne knew that was very much the case when it came to pressure and guns, she always missed. there was one time that her trigger finger had actually hit the target but it was not the intended spot and the person was now rotting in a jail cell instead of rotting in the ground but she was thankful for that because ryanne did not wish to have the word murderer across her forehead while the word bitch and feisty were there as well, that was a bad combination in her mind. she shrugged her thoughts away from the dog, finding it cute but knowing that in a few short hours that it would be returned to the safety of it’s owner and never heard from again and in the end, an attachment would be a bad idea. ”good thinking sparky.” was really the only thing that she had to say before the soaking wet dog on the floor became an afterthought and her mind returned back to the lump that was on his head. she shrugged, giving her head a knock, ”well I am flattered to hear that..”, taking pride in her own stubbornness because it meant that she stood up for what she believed it and though she was more stubborn than a mule, the attribute paid off at times. rolling her eyes, she wanted to smack the sarcastic smirk off his face but restrained herself before shrugging, ”I’m a fast learner?” which in all fairness, was completely the truth. she was quick to learn things but quick to forget them too and the idea of being a doctor, since she had distaste for them anyway, was not appealing to her, ”but I can see that you are fine and I’ve checked you out enough to know when something isn’t right. it’s a bump to the head, you will live.”. chuckling, she leaned into him as her arms wrapped around his waist and kept their bodies warm with each other’s natural heat, who needed electricity now? ryanne actually did but she did not want to admit that and instead smirked, looking up to him and shrugging. ”I know all.” or she thought that she knew all when really, ryanne had a lot to learn about life, love and getting an all-around common sense. she never thought herself wrong, she never second guessed her choices because to ryanne, they always felt right and she was the kind of girl that went with her gut and her heart. ”you’re forgiven.”, leaning up and catching his lips into another kiss before pulling back and rolling her eyes, ”forever and always sparky.”. these were the moments were normalcy seemed possible in the future, where they would not have to watch their back or have to be trained on how to use a gun, those moments were within reach but something always ruined it and usually it was an action of another or a comment from one of them, this time, it was a dog bark that brought her head out of the clouds and back to reality. she caught the last of his rant, her eyebrow raising and giving a soft chuckle as she ran a hand through his hair, careful of the bump, and rested it on the back of his neck, ”you thought of everything, didn’t you?”, she whispered against his lips before finally catching them once more, ’want to start it up for two minutes?” because that was all the time that the female needed to get her caffeine fix, and before the storm got so bad that going near the windows would be hazardous. He knew she didn’t like guns though and wouldn’t push her to use to handle them if she wasn’t comfortable with it since that’s how big accidents happened. He’d handle guns and let her throw coffee mugs at anyone if it ever came down to it. ”I would be in a whole lot more pain you mean.” he corrected anyway and smiled at her. She could believe what she wanted but he would always think that with a weapon she would be deadly. Kina like dogs with their puppy eyes but they were able to defend and protect though you’d think “oh this animal’s too sweet to hurt anyone” till you learned they could and would if threatened. He glanced at the dog he’d brought with him reconsidering for a moment before deciding he was right. The dog was a nice one yes but he had a feeling that it would protect its family if it ever needed to. That was just how things went. ”Yeah…don’t want to get attached to it by keeping it around too long.” he muttered with a quick shrug.
Looking back at her he chuckled as she said she was flattered by him saying she had a hard head and smirked, ”Well it’s true so go ahead and be flattered all you want.” he joked and shook his own head at her. Her comment about being a fast learner had him rolling his eyes a little though, ”When you want to be sure…but I highly doubt you learned to be a doctor in that time.” he said knowing they were just joking around anyway. She could learn fast about most things yes, but not so much on things like when to keep her mouth shut to avoid trouble or when to listen to him…those were lessons she seemed to have issues learning at all let alone fast. Smirking as she mentioned checking him out he nodded in agreement to that and chuckled. ”You have had plenty of time to check me out so alright I’ll accept your assessment that I’ll live.” he said with a lazy shrug and held her close offering his warmth as he enjoyed having her in his arms.
Hearing her say she knew all had him snorting in amusement though and shaking his head a little at her, ”You may think you do…” he said back knowing there were a few things she didn’t know but that she didn’t need to know or that knowing would only hurt her somehow so she couldn’t know. He smiled as she forgave him for not being home sooner and kissed back watching as she rolled her eyes at him after. ”So I’ve noticed.” he said lightly and shook his head. He was a man who believed in being overly prepared instead of unprepared so having a small generator in the apartment wasn’t really anything that would surprise someone who knew him. Looking at her as she ran her hand through his hair he nodded to her question before kissing back again. ”I always think of everything and let’s be daring and go for three since I want to microwave something to eat real fast.” he said figuring he needed to eat something since he hadn’t since lunch. ”You hungry at all?”
