missing him was dark gray losing him was blue like I’d never known . even before the wind and rain had started, lena had been a wreck and had proven her best to try and quell all fears of the storm, thinking that she would have to brave it alone. even though hunter lived in her apartment most days, on some school nights, such as tonight, he would retreat back to his seaside palace and she would be left to her own devices. now that the power was out and the wind was whipping around the apartment building and creating howling sounds, lena was scared. she was terrified of the dark in it of itself and to add the sound effects along with the idea of someone watching her and lena was breaking down rather quickly. the worry for her boyfriend was exponential and had been growing with the passing seconds as she tried to call his home phone but was met with a dial tone, having forgotten that no lights would mean no phone. her cellphone’s final battery usage was put to texting and calling hunter, acting more clingy than ever to the idea of him being injured. she had visions of his house before taken over by a wave, drowning while trying to get to her and suddenly, her messages had turned from being frantic about his whereabouts to assuring him that she was okay and that he needed to be safe, he had to be safe. her dog was now curled up under a blanket on the couch but lena found her legs to be in the state of locking up and feeling like gelatin, fluid to the point that she was grounded in her spot. she let out a sharp scream to the sound of the branches scratching against the window, the hooting of the wind increasing as the branch continued to scratch, almost trying to break the glass and reach lena. ”y-y-you’re okay…y-y-you’re o-okay…y-y-you’re …” , her throat felt tighter as she tried to repeat the words for a third time. her hands were shaking as they slid the phone into her pocket and she moved over to the couch, being met with the sounds of her dog’s pawing and trying to get her eyes adjusted to the darkness. ”h-h-hunter..”, whimpering his name as she pulled the blanket over her head and curled into a ball, her breathing was growing heavier and her shaking was becoming more erratic as she tried to calm herself down while the world around her began to spin due to the anxiety attack that she was now suffering.[/div]

This hadn't been in the plans. Hunter had gone back to his house on the beach and had all but started throwing shit together in a suitcase the moment he'd seen the evacuation chart posted on the news and every other channel on tv in the area. This was bad. This was very bad. His first instinct was to call Lena and make sure that she was okay, but with a curse, he realized that his cell phone battery was dead just as the power in his place went out. He needed to get out of there ASAP. He packed a bag of clothes and chucked a few bottles of water and canned pasta into his bag before he made his way for the door.
He didn't have a big, heavy SUV. All he had was his sports car and, while it would offer him speed, he worried about some of the rain water that was deeper than he would have expected it to be already. But eventually, he was pulling up in front of Lena's place and bee-lining it for the door. He was worried about her and he wanted to get her to the convention center as quickly as possible. He just sincerely hoped that the weather held up long enough to get there. He wasn't sure if it was a safer idea holing up in her apartment or if it was a better idea trying to get somewhere else for the time being. Shit...
Hunter made it into the lobby of her apartment and bolted for the stairwell beside the elevator entrance, taking the steps two at a time with his own bag slung over his shoulder. His hands were shaking a bit as he fumbled with the keys to her apartment door and then wound up inside. He flipped a small pen light on, searching the apartment. "Lena?" Had she already gotten out of there. But then he spotted Belle still in the apartment and he knew damned well that she would never leave her dog behind. Eventually, he spotted the lump beneath the blanket and cursed as he skidded to a stop beside her and wrapped his arms around her. "Lena..." He said, pulling her into his arms. "You're okay, Baby. I'm here and Belle's still okay. We're okay and we're going to make it through this, all right?"

missing him was dark gray losing him was blue like I’d never known . the word okay echoed in her mind but lena felt far from okay, she felt lost and broken and even incomplete without her, in her own opinion, better half, at her side. she was worried for his safety but even more worried for his own need to be with her when she was scared and though she was currently shaking in her socks, lena did not want him to brave the weather in order to be by her side. she wanted him to be safe even if that meant that he went to his parent’s or a friend’s, as long as hunter would return to her. she found herself desiring his strong arms around her, wanting his comforting warmth though and she hated herself for thinking so selfishly but the more that she realized that he was not here, the more her body shook and her breathing quickened. she had to calm herself down less lena wanted to throw herself into a fit of hysterics which was the direction that she was heading at this moment, ”b-belle..” she mumbled, hoping that the soft coat of a prized pet would calm her down and though her heart rate dropped to a calming amount, her body was still shaking as she pulled the covers over her head. the dark and lena were not friends but she would have rather been in the dark in a confined area, a blanket, rather than staring into the back abyss that had become her apartment. she had not even registered the sound of keys or the door opening or even her name being spoken through soft lips as her eyes were screwed shut with the intent to keep all selfish and negative thoughts out but she found that with her voice being lost but finally catching his own, her eyes popped open and she noticed the familiar features of her boyfriend by her side, his arms now securely wrapped around her body. ”I’m s-s-sorry…I’m sorry….y-y-you should be s-s-safe…I d-d-didn’t..”, burying her face into his chest while her shaking ceased but the fear of the storm had caused tears to rush down her face in a cascade of streaks. she curled her body into his, not wanting to move, ”..i’m s-s-selfish but..p-please d-d-don’t leave..p-please..” she pleaded, needing some kind of comfort and something that would make her forget about the storm. hunter was always a distracting person in her life from his chiseled jawline to his beautiful eyes that captivated her and with a hand resting on his cheek, lena thought of one way to keep her distracted and quickly, and rather uncharacteristically, pressed her lips to his in a passionate embrace. .[/div]
