NEWS REPORT UPDATES ⋅ 9/29: 2:00 pm; warning was issued, people fled to stores to stock up for the upcoming hours of lockdown mode.
⋅ 9/29: 5:00 pm; curfew was initiated and all those refusing do so at their own risk
⋅ 9/29: 6: 37 pm; hurricane melissa has been classified as a level three and the precautions for such has taken effect. wind and rain already appearing with speeds of 38 mph and spitting rain
⋅ 9/29: 11:00 pm; tree falls in park, no injuries are reported
⋅ 9/29: 11:27 pm; power in the eastern part of the city has shut down, public transportation has as well.
⋅ 9/30: 12:45 am; flooding has begun, up to 6 inches in some of the lower parts of the city. rain is increasing and wind is hitting the 60's.
newest update ⋅ 9/30: 1:57 am; hurricane melissa is hitting the coast. causing the beach to be flooded, streets are virtually empty, cops are patrolling now as the western half of the city's power is cut off.
