The important stop was to get ice cream of course since she was out and while some people were addicted to alcohol, drugs, or whatever else ice cream was her addiction. She never let her freezer stay empty of her favorite treat, if she ran out she picked up more to make up for the unfilled space in her small freezer that was strictly for ice cream. Throwing the strap of her bag over her head so it hung diagonally across her chest bouncing on one hip as she walked she was glad for her jacket because it was a little chilly out. She’d walked today since she’d figured it was a good day to walk and her car even being the beloved possession it was didn’t call to her in its normal too tempting to resist ways. She was starting to regret this now as she walked toward the store, her earbuds pouring music into her ears as she kept an eye on the people ahead of her and to the sides but didn’t have her whole focus on people watching.
She had been abducted as a child which made her more aware as an adult most days but sometimes she felt calm and settled, able to just walk without fear. Today was one of those days and her boots pounded the ground as the sips on her pants wiggled with each step. She was comfortable today, she had been one of the ‘kids’ in someone else’s teaching lesson instead of being the teacher this time and thinking back on her own learning experience she couldn’t help but laugh. She had to think that the people in their class and friends convinced to come sit in were actually worse than children at any age because they played it up to make it hard and even funny. They were testing them on how to handle rowdy students because this teacher felt everyone needed to understand that you didn’t just stand there and talk or tell them what to do but you had to deal with them being difficult and asking questions, causing problems, doing all sorts of things. She knew for a fact the teacher of her lessons found it hilarious to sit and be the student who was a real pain, a kind of payback for years of teaching himself. He’d been an elementary teacher to start off with he’d told them on day one and she figured that’s where he got his inspiration for how to behave.
She made her way through the store pulling out one of the earbuds to hear as she went just in case and found the aisle she wanted picking out her selection of ice creams to refill with this time. She knew she should probably buy something that was real food while there but she still had bread and lunch meat so she was fine for dinner and therefore not worried about real food this trip. She stopped off to grab chocolate sauce to top her ice cream with before making her way to the check out glad to be able to slide into the “12 items or less” line since the others seemed to be full and slow moving. Getting through quick and exiting the store again she made her way toward a side street that was less used to cut across so she could get to her apartment fast before having to go to work in an hour. Cutting through was the fastest route and normally not an issue and she kept walking as she reached up to put the earbud back into her ear so she could listen to music again
Yelping in surprise as she was grabbed from behind she dropped her bag of ice cream and let go of the earbud instantly going on the defensive and using the tricks she’d learned by taking the defense classes once she got into her teen years to prevent ever getting grabbed again. They didn’t work because the man was quick and she had no good angle with the way he was holding her one arm pinned arm across her chest the other wrapped around her throat cutting off her air. ”One fucking sound and I kill you. Nod if you understand me and be sure you do because this is no joke.” came the voice of the man holding her and she considered a moment before nodding figuring if she was alive she could get away alter instead of getting herself killed now.
She hated the feeling of being taken again and a second man came into view his hands digging into her bag and then her pocket to take her things and shove it all into a bag he carried before they put her into a car. She didn’t know how they were getting away with this in broad daylight but she did feel the hit to the side of her head that knocked her lights off. Waking up in a strange room had been scary enough but the man who’d come into the room had been even more scary. She hadn’t let that stop her from being the mouthy little bitch she could be when scared though. He’d hurt her, used her, and abused her since having her kidnapped off the sidewalk and brought to this place. She’d been tied up and he’d tried to break her but the one thing he didn’t know was that she’d already been broken once. That meant she couldn’t and wouldn’t be broken again no matter what he did or said and she got a feeling that just wasn’t making him happy at all which was fine with her.
Dealing with Tristan was a nightmare and she was getting tired of it, tired of wondering when he’d be back and what he’d think up next. Pushing his buttons to see just how far he would go and if maybe he’d finally kill her like he seemed to enjoy threatening to do. She wished he’d just do it already since she was tired of this and ready to be done. Shifting on the bed she was curled up on she pulled the blanket closer since her clothes were past saving at this point and she knew she’d lose the blanket again soon enough. Closing her eyes she tried once again to think of a way out, some way to get free of this nightmare she’d been living with and once again her brain came up blank since she didn’t exactly have access to any weapons. She kept trying to think of a way though, it was either that or give into the dark place inside her mind where she’d hidden when younger, and she would not do that this time.

with his gun locked to his side, ready to be pulled out and used at a moments notice, the male easily got over the estate walls with his bike being hidden by foliage and making the large technological advanced mode of transportation to appear to be a part of nature. a smirk was still on his face as he slowly twisted the accessory onto his gun, making any shot fired to be muted and allow him the chance to move through the guarded estate with ease. it was an easy mission, one that he had decided to take on his own instead of adding an extra burden into the mmix. his friend would have made things more complicated and though river was careless in his covering his tracks, he still got the job done. with three guards down, he was able to get into the actual house and gave a glance around along with a low whistle, ”see this is how a gangster should live..” |
[/b] he muttered, keeping a tight grip on his gun and ducking through the living room, then kitchen and dining room to make it to the grandstair well. it was something of beautiful as he light touched the banister and suddenly heard an alarm go off that caused his eyebrow to raise, ”what the fuck!?”[/b] he shouted outloud, raising his gun for any sign of blockades that would prevent him from rescuing the girl and returning back to jarred’s apartment with her. that was the objective in the end but it seemed that the male had hit a snag as he heard the front door fly open and river quickly hopped the banister to land in a potted plant, cursing under his breath as the feeling of his foot cracking with the intense pressure of landing but he stayed silent, listening to the footprints past. this ring leader had returned home, having followed the motorcycle and was making his way up the stairs in which after the form disappeared and the coast was clear, river snick out with a great pain to his legs but he remained diligent, letting the pain numb away after a moment before continuing once more on his journey up the stairs and following the shadow of the male to a back bedroom. it seemed that the corridor was endless and that was the amount of doors that were given to him but he could hear shouting and screaming, he could hear the struggle and knew exactly where to go and rushed into the room, gun in hand as he witnessed the sight of a woman with a gun to her head, his eyes narrowed and he shot before he thought, causing the ring leader to hiss and drop the girl and his own weapon. he was rather proud of himself as the ring leader fell, having saved the girl from certain death and that was evident by the fact that the leader had the barrel of the gun against her head. reaching for her hand, he tried not to notice her body that was rather exposed, or the way that her hair stuck to her face because it still was beautiful to him. giving a charming smile, his hand reached out for her, ”well that phone picture did not do you justice but please, take my hand and let’s get the fuck out of here.”[/b], he spoke while pointing his gun to the ring leader, giving another shot to his leg and then lifting the girl off her back and onto her feet, ”like now.”[/b] and without much thought to her actual physical strength, the male began to drag her out of the haunted room and into the light of freedom, ”I don’t have a horse, well it has horsepower. hope you don’t mind.”[/b], they got to the wall of the estate and he gave her a raised eyebrow, turning to shoot someone from over his shoulder, ”need a boost?”[/b] he asked casually, not letting the pressure get to him. Sure rya would notice she was missing and she’d probably get jay to look for her but that didn’t mean she’d be found because they wouldn’t know to look at this guy, they’d have no clue who could/would take her and that was the hard part of this situation. She didn’t want to upset her friend by going missing and never coming back or being found, she didn’t want to end up dead and lost forever or even for rya to blame herself somehow which didn’t seem out of the realm of possible with her friend. She didn’t want to be just another news headline like “missing girl found dead” whenever or if they ever found her body. She wanted to go back to her life, wanted to just get back to her apartment and eat ice cream. She didn’t even give a fuck if the police found out about this guy and what he’d done because that never actually solved any problems did it? no someone else would just step up to fill the assholes shoes once he was locked away. Locking him up would just clear a space for the next person and that was even if they could lock him up which she would admit to doubting since what she’d seen and learned while being his prisoner led to her believing he might be part of the same world as Jay and Rya which meant he’d get away with it somehow.
She stopped her thoughts, not about to wallow in the fact that things weren’t looking good. She wouldn’t give into the darkness of her mind that begged for death regularly and hoped to be put out of her misery by the “final release” or whatever the hell people in her position called it. she was a fighter, she’d been a fighter her whole life thanks to people like this asshole and she would not let it get that bad, would not accept that this was her fate. She had to hope rya would be looking for her, that she’d have jay looking and that there would be some way they’d find out where she was and get her back. She had to keep that hope or she might as well just become some whiney “oh poor me” girl and those were women she hated because they didn’t step up and do what they needed to they just expected other’s to take care of them. Delilah was too independent to count on others to take care of her or protect her. She needed help sometimes sure but she wouldn’t ever need someone else to help her survive and right now that’s what she needed to do. Survive. She would make it through this and walk away.
This time it was the alarm going off that startled her out of her thoughts and she twitched on the bed, jumping at the suddenness of it and shifted to sit up and look toward the door wondering what was happening and if it would give her the chance to save herself. She moved to try getting up, feeling weak from all that had happened to her while she’d been there in this house but also determined to take a chance if she got it. if it got her killed then at least she’d die trying instead of laying in a bed being used by some asshole or abused by him…same thing right? Standing on shaky legs she gripped the table by the bed holding the thin sheet around herself and waited to find her balance. Her head jerked up as the door opened and she tried to make herself move faster than he would this time, tried to get out of his grip because if he was here and upset then she had her chance because something was going on.
She never made it too the door, he had her and the sheet fell as she tried to fight him off again knowing he’d already outmatched her before so he would again this time. She wouldn’t go down without trying though and she fought to try to get free of his grip screamed at him to let her go and many other things though she wasn’t exactly sure what she was saying. Seeing someone else at the door she could feel the gun to her head and had to wonder if this guy was hear to see the prisoner bitch killed or something, backup? Hadn’t ever needed back-up before but there was a first time for everything. The shot fired had her yelping in shock and expecting pain, she got the pain but not from a bullet instead from being dropped and falling to the ground.
Looking up at the man who’d shot her kidnapper she saw his hand held out to her and had a moment to decide what she was going to do. Go with the new guy who had a gun but seemed to be helping her or shy away from the helping hand and get killed by her kidnapper for sure? Hearing him mention a phone picture she frowned in confusion and made her decision slipping her hand into his, ”You’re gonna have to explain that later.” she croaked out her voice raspy and weak right now from the screaming and fighting she’d been doing. Swiping the sheet from the ground as he pulled her up onto her feet she stumbled after him gripping it but not having the chance to wrap it around herself as they went. She focused on keeping her feet under her though her legs just wanted to give out and let her drop. Focusing on the thought of getting out and his words she managed to make it out with him looking at the motorcycle. Standing there beside the thing she quickly tugged the sheet around her bruised body and the blood that was coming from cuts where the scabs had been broken open or just dried blood from other things…all of it her own. ”No.” she said determined to be at least a little independent right now so she didn’t seem totally weak to this handsome stranger she used the last of her strength to swing her leg over the motorcycle careful to keep the sheet around her as she went so she wouldn’t get blood on it or be naked again.

[/b] he grinned, always being cocky even when the situation was dire. the sarcasm that river had would never diminish, even with faced with death and he was sure that his smart mouth would be the reason for his death when it came to it. her voice was raspy though and he did not want to have to strain her voice anymore, so river shot and dragged her through the house and out the front door. he had almost forgotten about the wall and even more so, he should have thought to bring a jacket with him for this kind of emergency but the thought had never actually occurred to him. he did not expect this to be the exact sight, having thought that girl would at least have clothes on but now he knew exactly what she captured for and was just scared to touch her at this moment. he nodded as she gave him the simple answer and turned his back to her, his gun raised an firing at anyone that was heading toward them, ”kind of on a deadline, got to move faster princess peach.”[/b] he commented, though her hair was a complete different color, and he was no italian plumber. he did not really feel like much of a hero as he had felt like a murderer, unsure if the leader was dead but knowing that many of the guards were. he finally gave her the last up to help her over the wall before he did his run and jump and landed on the otherside, waiting for her to drop sheet and all. ”I’m sure his girl has something for you to wear..”[/b] he muttered, not sure how he was going to explain the sheet to anyone that looked at him, but river figured he would just have to drive faster in order to avoid being seen. the backroads, the back alleys and the least busy streets all the way to the male’s apartment and it was not river’s that he was heading toward. ”you’re safe now, not going to touch you. but…you got to touch me, hold on tight.”[/b] and he was referring to both the sheet and his shoulders or waist, whichever she felt most comfortable, as he turned the key in the ignition and roared the machine to life. he waited a moment, his gun still in his hand and prepping it for another round that could occur as they passed the gate. ”duck your head until we get onto the main road.”[/b] he hissed the order to her, expecting for it to be followed as he shifted the gun to his other hand, and kickstarted the machine to the full extent before dodging trees and other obstacles until they reached the sideroad in which is gun was fired twice before being tucked away—all while driving the bike. he was trying to drive easier, not hit too many bumps, avoid too many people and make the ride as comfortable as possible as he moved around cars, buildings and people in order to reach the destination which was jarred’s apartment. jarred might not have been home but he knew that the girlfriend was probably spending her days on his couch and as the bike slowed to a stop in the back of the apartment building, he offered her a hand, ”promise I won’t try anything. I need to get you out of the open though so we are going to play honeymoon for a second.”[/b] and the reference was the way that he would be holding her. kicking the bike kickstand down, he placed an arm under her legs and waited for her arms to wrap around his neck while supporting her around the waist and moving into the building. he kept to the stairs, and moved up them two by two before reaching jarred’s floor. he gave the door a kick, sighing softly as he kept a tight but gentle hold, ”jay bird, open the fucking door!”[/b] he yelled out, careful not to do so in her ear. the door finally opened, revealing an exhausted looking blonde girl whose eyes went wide, ”not exactly how I thought the first meeting would go but here, I return your friend to you….quite possibly not in the condition that you found her.”[/b] because river was unaware of how much damage had been done while she was kept captive. She would just have to deal with what was happening and either get herself the hell out of there when the chance came or wait for the time when the game got old and he was done playing with her. She knew it would come eventually it was just a matter of out-waiting him while still keeping an eye open for the chance to get the heck out on her own because that was not an opportunity she’d pass up. Hearing the alarm and sounds of gunshots was a surprise and the man who came in to seemingly rescue her from the man who’d attacked her many times in worse ways than he was this time this way was even more of a surprise. She was glad for his good aim in being able to take the guy down without hurting her at all and then a little annoyed at the comment about keeping the mystery alive about what he was talking about when he mentioned a phone picture. ”I don’t handle mystery well.” she mumbled her tone a tiny bit annoyed as she followed him willingly glad to be getting the hell out of there.
She wasn’t stupid enough to start arguments over things like pictures when they should be getting away from the people with guns and attitude problems. Following him through the house she found strength in the adrenaline pumping through her to follow along so she wasn’t actually dragged through the place as much as she followed willingly hoping they didn’t get killed on the way. She knew as soon as she calmed down she’d be falling down and staying down for a day or two before daring to risk standing up again or something like that. Right now though with her heart beating fast and the pull of freedom tugging her along she was doing just fine. Looking over at him at his calling her princess peach she snorted and shook her head, ”Don’t go thinking you’re Mario…at best you’re Luigi since you can’t answer a simple question.” she muttered her voice still raspy as she climbed accepting the help without a word of protest since even she had to know and respect her limits to avoid being a hassle in this kind of situation. Hearing something about “his girl” and “wear” she glanced at him quickly with a confused look not sure who he was talking about but let it slide planning to question this guy soon as she got the chance when there weren’t bullets flying around.
Hearing him say he wasn’t going to touch her she had a moment to be impressed he’d even thought to point that out before she wrapped her arms around his waist to hold tight knowing it kept her arms out of his way for driving and the gun and gave her a steadier base. She knew how to ride a motorcycle with someone though it wasn’t something she did very often. Pressing her forehead between his shoulder blades to keep her head ducked down as told and making herself less of an easy target to hit hopefully she held tight as he drove the bike out onto the road. She was hurting in so many places by now and shaking from the rush of it all along with that and the fear that something would go wrong and they wouldn’t make it. Clinging to him as he wound them through the area she would totally claim it was to avoid falling off the bike instead of something like needing a physical anchor to reality while falling apart just a tiny bit. By the time the bike slowed down she had a grip on herself again and she lifted her head looking around to try to figure out where they were. ”Wait doesn’t rya’s boyfriend Jay live here?” she asked realizing a moment later this guy may not know who Jay even was. Looking at him when he spoke she sighed and nodded wrapping her arms around his neck to hold on so if he dropped her she wouldn’t be going down without dragging him along or maybe she’d just land on her feet instead. ”Only because I’m pretty sure my legs are jelly at the moment from too much adrenaline.” she said not wanting him to think she was weak or looking to him to keep saving her even now that she was safe.
Once they’d reached the floor she had a good guess where they were heading and she was proven right as he kicked the door calling out jay’s name to open the door. Seeing Rya as the door was opened she gave her friend a small smile, ”So a day in the life…I’m not jealous of you.” she tried to joke though it had been more than a day and it was something she’d kinda been through before in her own life. Thinking now she knew it was a seriously lame joke but hopefully it would ease any tension. Looking over Rya’s shoulder and seeing jay with a gun in hand glaring at the man holding her she frowned wondering what exactly she was missing here and suddenly a bit more nervous though she didn’t think she had any reason to be since this guy had just saved her and brought her straight to them. ”Can…we come in? I may need to steal your shower for a few days and raid rya’s closet unless your car’s here since my bag’s still in it from the other day?” she said to break the ice building up and hopefully be put down.
Jarred looked over at hearing the thud of River’s foot connecting with the door and reached out to grab Rya’s arm, just barely missing he growled to himself as he grabbed the gun from under the table in the living room moving to stand behind rya at the door as she answered. Surprised wasn’t strong enough a word to explain what he felt seeing River standing there holding Delilah and he glared at the man trying to figure out the best way to kill him for lying and having her the whole time. He tried not to look at the sheet that had blood in some spots on it that seemed fresh or the bruises on Dee’s skin and stepped back reaching out to push the door open further. Get in here quick.” he said to River not sure if he was carrying dee because she couldn’t walk but that seemed a likely answer so he’d have to come in to set her down. ”And you better have a fucking explanation River or you’re not walking back out of his apartment.” he added already thinking the man wouldn’t be walking out.

[/style] [style=height: 320px; width: 250px; margin-right: -300px; margin-top: -330px; font-size: 8.5px; font-family: tahoma; text-align: justify; line-height: 1; text-transform: lowercase; overflow: auto; scrollbar-base-color:#A36954; color: #000;]river did not believe himself to be a white knight since the rescue mission had a few different alternatives. he was thinking that he needed to send a message to the other gang and the distraction that he made was the perfect time to use it, then he had to gain jarred’s trust at the same time and get him inside so that he could finish his report back to the leader. he shrugged to her statement, giving a glance to the male that was lying on the floor and making sure that he was still breathing but stationary as well, his eyes appeared to be closed which was a good sign but river did not allow his back to turn as he backed out of the room with his gun poised. ”too bad cause that’s all I am.” |
[/b] he said with a bit of a goofy grin on his face and then turned around to face her as soon as tristan’s feet were out of side and he was sure that their security had been breached. ”he’s not dead by the way.”[/b], letting her know the truth about what was happening around her as the gunshot to the knee would do nothing but give him a clear message including a signed bullet and quite possibly a limp for a month or two but then the leader could have his vengeance and at that point, river would be ready. he used his silencer to end the life of the guards and anyone else that dared to show themselves or point a gun at the pair of them while his fingers moved to pull the trigger without even a blink of an eye or a second thought. he had no doubts when it came to his shots as river had always had a solid aim unless his head was clouded with too much thought. there was no denying that with a glance to the body sheet and the drabble that the girl was dressed in that he was not concern about her wellbeing but there would be plenty of time for that. rolling his eyes, he shook his head to her, ”you implying that luigi is stupid? he finally got his own video game y’know..”[/b], allowing his geek to show, ”but you’re right, I’m no hero.”[/b] because in reality, river was a spy and therefore, the enemy. ”and besides that, I have way better aim than those plumbers and probably yourself combined.”[/b] he said, proving his point by shooting a male through the head in a split second of releasing the trigger on his gun, and from over his shoulder. he started the bike in a haste, jumping on the trigger by the pedal to get the machine to roar to life before he began to pass the house, making a beeline kind of direction, left to right, in order to make their backs a harder target. he could hear the guns being let off but no bullets came flying past them as they had too much of an advantage with the direction that they were going. he could feel her body shaking and it indicated to him that she was either scared or cold and needed to be taken to safety instantly which river allowed the machine to be pushed a little further and kicked up his speed as soon as he entered the side roads and away from the flying bullets. he had hoped the license attached to the back of his back had been written down, stored away and given to the leader because river was ready to make a splash in this town and he only needed that small amount of hatred from another gang to do so. taking the girl, blowing the warehouse up and shooting down the leader was a good start and he could not resist the smirk that threatened to break through his serious look of concentration while remembering which backroads would take him to the final destination. he slowed the bike down as the main street came into view and they rode on it for only a second before turning into the garage of the familiar apartment building. chuckling to her, he shook his head while pulling the bike to a stop and letting his foot hit the ground to keep them both from toppling over, ”nothing gets past you, huh?[/b] he said with a raised eyebrow, waiting for her arms to unlatch from him and stepping off the bike, kicking the stand down. ”so that’s the girl’s name, knew it was something weird like that..”[/b], he chuckled and nodded, ”sure”[/b], waiting a moment for her to get her bearings together before lifting her off the bike and into his arms. she was surprisingly lighter than he had expected, curious if she had lost the weight during her captivity. the apartment was not too large, it was not that many floors up and thankfully, river had the endurance to get them up to the floor but the kick to the door was the final straw. he raised an eyebrow to the pretty blonde that stood there, glancing around her to see jarred holding a weapon and then stared down at delilah as began to talk, ”sure ryanne has not been taken by a sadistic freak such as tristan.”[/b] he said, giving away to jarred that he was not the kidnapper and was nothing more than a rescurer. following ryanne’s instuctions, he stepped into the apartment and moved around jarred while placing delilah on the couch, ”your legs should be okay, might want to shower though..”[/b] he said, turning to face his old friend. the look on his face was a good enough sign that river should have skipped for the door but instead, he stood his ground, ”no thank you? no “wow you did so good”? i rescued her, oh and we are not the only gang in this town just so you are aware.”[/b] he said, shrugging and folding his arms across his chest. ”message was sent, girl is rescued, that’s what fucking matters here. and no, I didn’t take the girl, tristan stone had her. you can even ask her and she will tell you the exact same thing.”[/b], moving to the kitchen table and dropping into a chair. river was exhausted with all of the running and shooting that he did, and at this point, the male was ready for a nap.
ryanne remained wide eyed as she stared at the mysterious male with her best friend in his arms. she had no idea of how to respond except allowing them to step through by moving aside. ”if you damaged this girl buddy, I’ll fucking damage your boys.”[/b] she finally spoke, giving a threat to river before moving over to delilah on the couch, ”…well, you shouldn’t be but I don’t think I’ve ever been this bad..”[/b] but ryanne did have her fair share of close shots, and one actual occurance where she had been forced upon but that was far in the past and she needed to focus on the present. ”I’ll go get your bag…you get in the shower.”[/b] she said, placing a kiss to her forehead and standing up. moving over to jarred, she gave him a sweet smile before giving him a wink and moving her hand into his pocket to produce the keys to his car. ”not going to get hurt walking ten feet, I’ll be right back.”[/b] she said, knowing he was always worried when she left—especially now. knowledge of another gang had her on edge but ryanne walked out of the apartment with a soft shut of the door and twirled the key on her finger as she went down the flight of stairs, needing to get the adrenaline out in some form and it seemed that six or seven flights of steps was going to do the trick. Of course the man was a better looking option than a rock and she’d gladly take his help right now since she knew it was now or never in getting away from the situation she’d been trapped in. Following his lead in how they’d be getting out of there, hopefully alive, she wondered if this guy was tied into the stuff that her best friend’s boyfriend was into. Maybe he’d even been sent by rya and jay? She didn’t know what to think and trying to solve the mystery of the man was wasting time so she just shook her head at his grin and cocky words about it being all he was. His words about Tristan not being dead though earned a scowl from her, ”Then you need better aim or to go back and shoot him in the head.” she mumbled feeling she had the right to wish the man who’d had her kidnapped and who’d assaulted her repeatedly dead. Death might be a little too nice though so she didn’t say anything else as she followed him out. Hearing his question she couldn’t help the lift of her eyebrow at that and snorted, ”No but you do realize you just called yourself stupid right?” she said since she’d not mentioned the game character being dumb and he’d jumped right to that conclusion. She didn’t comment on his words about not being a hero but couldn’t help the snort at his mention of having better aim. ”I don’t have horrible aim but you probably have better since this seems common for you.” she admitted and glanced over at whomever he’d shot at before shaking her head. ”Showoff.” she mumbled to herself.
She was glad he seemed able to handle the bike and how he understood that you needed to make a target that was moving around too weirdly to be properly targeted. It was a good sign for this rescue as she held on tight and moved with him to make the ride go as smoothly as possible. She couldn’t help the shaking and couldn’t help the fact that she was still freaking out a bit right now because of everything going on. She kept it all internal though instead of letting out the urge to scream because that wouldn’t help anything and really what was the point? Taking deep hopefully calming breaths she waited for this ride to end somewhere she could get behind a locked door and stay there for a few hours and hopefully get a shower. She didn’t think she could ever scrub her skin clean enough after what she’d been through since she’d never gotten it clean from before but she would give it a try. When they’d come to a stop and she’d gotten an idea of where they were she narrowed her eyes at him at his sarcastic comment and rolled her eyes as she let go. ”No actually.” she answered seriously and frowned. ”You know Rya and Jay? Well obviously not well if you didn’t know her name but are you connected to whatever it is jay does?” she asked not wanting to give away what all she knew but curious how he knew to bring her here all the same. She let his snippy “sure” slide and sighed as he lifted her up into his arms. ”Don’t drop me. I’m not too jelly legged to kick your ass if you do.” she said knowing she probably was but still feeling better for giving him the warning.
Holding on tight till they’d reached the apartment she looked at her friends and gave a little tired smile finally starting to relax just a little now that she knew she was somewhere safe. She frowned and shook her head a little at the comment about Tristan and sighed, ”No but you really should have killed him.” she said with no shame for speaking so freely about someone being killed. Letting go as she was set on the couch she nodded to him and gave a little smile, ”Thank you for getting me out of there.” she said and glanced between him and jay before looking at Rya. ”Nothing I haven’t survived before…I’m going to go take that shower you guys keep talking about.” she said smiling at the kiss to her forehead resisting the urge to tag “mom” onto the end of that sentence as she shifted to get her feet on the floor and carefully lift herself off the couch while still holding onto the sheet. It wasn’t a quick trip because she was sore it seemed just about everywhere but she made her way into the bathroom and dropped the sheet in favor of climbing under the warm water with a soft sigh. Allowing herself a moment to just enjoy the feeling of it she focused the next on scrubbing her skin not stopping as the skin under the cloth turned red and raw or the scabs and cuts got irritated by her scrubbing. Forcing herself to stop as she realized the water was still running red though the dried blood was gone she knew she’d have to try again some other time to get the ick out from her skin since now she needed to get out of the water. Waiting until she wasn’t bleeding so badly she gently wiped that away before grabbing a towel to wrap around herself and avoiding looking in the mirror as she waited for her things to be brought by rya since she didn’t want to re-wrap herself in the sheet…she actually wanted to set the sheet on fire.
Jarred watched River as he handled Delilah glad he was careful or he’d have punched the man and frowning at the mention of Tristan, he knew who the man was and what he did in the area but so far he’d not had any contact with him. ”Did you find out why he’d taken her or just that he’d been the one to do it?” he asked ignoring Rivers need for praise or comments about the other gang in town since he already knew. Looking over at Rya he glanced toward the door then over at river before back to her. ”If you’re not back in three minutes I’m coming out and shooting whoever I see out there since I’m sure this idiot didn’t tell the whole story of what’s going on.” he said seriously knowing he’d actually follow through on the threat.
