LEND ME YOUR EYES, I CAN CHANGE WHAT YOU SEE. BUT YOUR SOUL YOU MUST KEEP TOTALLY FREE. MEL/LIAM <3, 855, SEXXY , LETS SEE IF THIS WORKS OUT ;] the world had once been crumbling down around her as she sat in the alter, waiting for the male of her dreams to marry the wicked witch of myrtle beach. she sat, dressed up, with her hands in her lap, unsure of why she was even at this wedding but it seemed to be the place that she meant to be—plus there was an open bar later that night. she sat with her head ducked, just listening to the words being spoken with a hitched breath each time that she took in air. her head was hurting from the lack of alcohol, being completely sober for as much as the girl did not want to remember it, she had to. she would have be reminded that he was going to be married and that there was nothing that she could ever do to change it. the idea of jumping off a bridge was becoming quite plausible at this moment as kahlan felt as though she really had nothing to give anymore. her entire life had been keeping at bay, holding them at a distance so that they never saw the broken girl that she was but now it was hard for her to even accept that way of life anymore with the need for people. she felt the need to be around people now, let them comfort her, open up to them and yet, she wouldn’t dare take that step, fearful of what they would see. as little as people knew about her, she was not entirely sure who she was anymore without her sister. the rock of her life that she had rolled away with the words of pregnancy and love being thrown around as kahlan hated the male that her sister had fallen in love with and the feeling was obviously mutual.
I do, the words rang in her head, causing her to physically wince as her face contorted into a painful expression as she finally picked her head up to hear him say the words. a cold feeling, numb to the core, came over her body as her neck stretched, brushing the hair out of her face and tucking it behind her ear in order to see him. silence surrounded her, everyone on the edge of the seat waiting for him to say the words and she hardly noticed that her own body had scooted closer. raising an eyebrow as hesistation crossed his face, watching his gaze move between his future wife and then his little sister, a small smile began to form on his lips. he understood the bond of a sibling, he knew the pain when they were hurt, the sadness when they were upset and the anger that was felt when they were damaged either physically or emotionally. something was happening though as he spoke words that were not mirrored to natalia’s and head tilted to the side, raising eyebrow and listening to the commotion around them. turning to the person next to her, she tapped the older woman’s shoulder and whispered, ”did he say no?”
, a sound of pleasure filling her tone as she was pleased to know that maybe liam could be the male for her in the end. he did., it was enough for kahlan as she jumped up as people stood up, watching him walk out and kahlan followed him with her eyes. waiting for a moment as not too appear to obvious, it was only moments later before she making her way out of the pew of the church and following him out the door. ”hey!” she called out to him, rushing down the steps regardless of her heels because she was too accustomed to running in them anyway. reaching him, she grabbed onto his arm, giving him a smile that was unmatched by any that she had ever given him. ”so you look all dressed up with nowhere to go..”, dropping her hand with a chuckle as she pulled at the hem of her dress, raising it off the ground. ”your sister has quite a hold of you. why did you say no though? for her..or for you?” she asked, curiosity lacing into her words for once. she usually let him remain him a closed book but she was too curious this time, too much interest in why he did not have a ring on his finger and was holding onto his new wife. kahlan was not going to deny the fact that she had enjoyed watching an enemy be humiliated, she would revel in that joy later but the male infront of her was important. he was the last piece of her life that she wanted to fix, her sister being one of them but that was a long term project, ”let’s get out of here.”, as she was not going to give him an option to leave her behind. this was their moment, just maybe kahlan could give into her emotions, and be real with someone for once. she felt fake all the time but with liam, she felt nothing but real, he saw the real her, broken and unbroken. Christ, that had felt good. Maybe a little too damned good. He'd seen the look of shock right there on his father's face the moment that he'd gone directly against his wishes. But honestly, Liam was tired of playing by his father's rules in the hopes that the man would pull himself away from work long enough to tell him that he was proud of his son for once. But that wasn't his father. And he supposed, in a way, he had given up on hoping that the man would ever take a genuine interest in him. And really, what was the worst that his father could do to him at this point? Disinherit him? He didn't see that one happening, considering he was his father's only son, not to mention that his sister wouldn't have been able to handle the business. And he loved his sister. He loved her so much. But he knew that she'd never even want to take over the business after everything she'd seen in what it had done to their father and the relationship his mother and father had.
And even if his father did disinherit him, at the heart of it all, he was a professional football player. He was star quarterback for the damned Patriots, for christ sake. He made more than enough money in one year to buy just about any damned house he wanted anywhere in the world and live comfortably in it. Very comfortably. Unlike Natalia, he had money, but he was willing to sacrifice a good chunk of it for the sake of being happy. For the sake of being able to wake up in the morning, look at himself in the mirror and not hate his life or the man that he had become. He wasn't a tool for his father to use and, truth be told, Liam's heart never could have been in this marriage and he knew that, eventually, he would have been unfaithful, regardless of how much he wanted to one day be a worthy and admirable husband.
Natalia would have drove him up the wall and his mind was set entirely on a different woman. A blonde beauty that had spent an evening with him in a beach side cave.
And almost as if she had known he'd been thinking about her, he heard her voice coming up behind him. Liam spun around at the sound of her voice and couldn't help but grin at her. He felt good. He felt damn good. And the megawatt smile she gave him hit him straight in the gut. Apparently she was just as happy as he was that he hadn't gone through with it. And for a moment, that gave Liam a bit of hope. And her question was an obvious one. He sighed. "I spent the entire duration of the wedding, up until that point, not looking at her and actively not seeking you out in the audience because I knew I wouldn't be able to pull that off if I did... And then I slipped up halfway through and looked at Julie and..." He shrugged a shoulder. "I guess I realized that I'd never be able to live with myself if I did it." He admitted to her.
"I did it for a few people. Julie... Myself... Maybe even Natalia in a respect because I know she would have been just as unhappy. But there was also this blonde girl that flashed through my mind too." He offered her a little smile. "I think she's taught me a few things about living for myself and unwinding and having a good time without worrying about whether or not my family's going to approve of it. So... I guess I owe her." He commented, presenting it in such a way that let her know that she was on his mind when he made his ultimate decision, but not trying to say anything that'd send her running in the other direction.
And then she was wanting to get out of there. Already he could see a few paparazzi with cameras emerging from their stupor to realize that the groom had run from the ceremony. "Wait." He said, tugging her to a stop. And right there, on the steps to his family's home, he tugged Kahlan against his chest and kissed the breath right out of her. He didn't give a shit who was watching or what it'd mean in the tabloids tomorrow. He felt such a tremendous relief and weight lifted off his shoulders. Finally, he pulled away from her and grinned. "You'd better pull those heels off, Baby... Because we're making a break for it." He gave her a roguish grin, and the moment she had her heels off, he was making a break for it with her hand tucked in his, right across the lawn of the house and to his waiting pick up truck.
He climbed in quickly, made sure she was in and had the door closed and then he peeled out of the driveway as fast as he damned well could, leaving the paparazzi behind in the dust. "Holy shit..." He laughed. "I can't believe I actually did that."

LEND ME YOUR EYES, I CAN CHANGE WHAT YOU SEE. BUT YOUR SOUL YOU MUST KEEP TOTALLY FREE. MEL/LIAM <3, 914, SEXXY , FDAFDFDA THEY ARE PERFECTION, BUT THIS ROAD IS GOING TO BE BUMPY kahlan was still in shock by the events that had taken place and even more so that she had followed behind him, regardless of the stares and the whispers that followed her as she rushed off the estate to follow him. never had kahlan chased after a male but liam was a special case and she did not want to let him go, not now, not ever. he opened her eyes, not to love, but to life and that there was more to it than the life that she was living and she opened his eyes that family obligation was not the way to live your life. they both taught each other something and because of that, they build a connection with one another and it only took a short time for it to happen. her heels clicked on the stone steps, holding the soft material of her dress up in order to keep herself from tripping over it and reached his side in an instant. he looked content, not upset or angry at himself and she could not help but smile that he had finally taken control of his own life—something that she had done long ago. ”you really care for her. that’s so cute.” she grinned, looking over her shoulder, with hope that the red haired girl would appear to rush to her brother and stop herself from running off with him but then the other half hoped that no one would emerge from the estate and that they would be left alone. torn between her desire for him and her old ways shining through. kahlan knew that taking his hand and running off with him would be a bumpy road but for once, she was willing to commit to it and see where it lead. eventually the girl would have to stop living her life as though it was her last day, going wild and being crazy and maybe liam was the ticket that she needed to pass the threshold that she had been too wonder through on her own. ”you would have really hurt her..among other people..”, not mentioning herself by name but throwing herself into that equation beacause seeing him standing there beside natalia had been breaking her heart. ”oh really now? natalia would have lived happily with you…and you know it…” she bregrudgly let slip out, knowing that the duty of being a wife was all that the woman was destined for even if she did not know it. kahlan on the other hand, she wanted more than being a trophy wife and though with liam, that status was expected by the press, she hoped that the same expectation did not lie with the male. he walked out on someone who have made the perfect one, so the expectation was not in his mind, right? she pushed the doubt away, chuckling as he referred to her and she gave a small courtesy, ”well my teaching methods are a little unconventional but obviously, they stick..” she grinned before shaking her head, stepping closer to him, ”you can make it up to me later.” she stayed firm regardless of her usual flight or fight instincts kicking in and when it came to matters of the heart, she fled but liam was keeping her there, his locked gaze, his soft voice with the ever loving sarcasm thrown in, that was what was keeping her grounded in her decision to try. she raised an eyebrow, ”wait for what?” she asked, hesitation in her voice that he was not going to run off, that he was going to turn his back to her but she gasped to the feeling of her body pulled flush against his. his lips found herself first as her lips were still formed into an “o” formation, trying to figure out what game he was playing at but her eyes slid close to the kiss. it was soft, sensual but the sound of the clicking cameras caught her attention and as they broke apart, she shook her head and eyed him, ”you’re such a bad boy.” she chuckled, kicking her heels off and leaving them on the steps. ”already ahead of you.” she mumbled before taking his hand and following his lead off the estate. the grass was wet under her feet, and she turned her head to see the set up of the reception but her attention quickly went to him as she found her way into his truck, grinning to the memory of the beach where they had first really gotten to know each other. ”why am I always cold when I get in this truck.” she mumbled out, rubbing at her bare arms before chuckling as she looked over to him, reading the excitement on his face. ”feels good?” she asked, reaching over to place a hand on the side of his neck, using her finger to turn his head in his direction, her thumb brushing the skin that ran across his jawline. dropping her hand as they took off, she shook her head, leaning against the seat and finally letting her breath catch up to her, ”I can’t believe you did that but..i’m so glad that you did.”, turning her head slowly to look over at him and giving a smile that read everything that she was feeling at this very moment. ”so mr. rebellious, where to now?” she asked with a chuckle, figuring that much of the plan had not been figured out. Liam rolled his eyes at her comment about him 'really' caring for her. "I care about my sanity, actually." He smirked at her. He knew damned well that he would have been miserable as hell in that arrangement, and as he'd stood up there at the altar, he'd realized exactly the kind of man that he'd wind up becoming. He would have wound up just like his dad. In a loveless marriage with two kids that wanted nothing more than to do their father proud. And there'd be no love left in his heart. There'd be no chance for happiness. Just bleak business day in and day out. He didn't want to live like that. He couldn't live like that. And he was pretty damned sure that he'd made that very apparent with what he had just done. "I guess a part of me does feel bad for her for what I just did but... I think in the long run, she might come to appreciate it a bit." He shrugged a shoulder.
He looked at Kahlan when she said that he would have really hurt his sister among other people. "There's not many other people I can think of that I would have hurt." He commented, a small smile forming on his lips, but he shrugged it off. He couldn't be sure how much he could imply before Kahlan wound up running off in the other direction, terrified of anything that even smelled faintly of commitment for the pair of them. But Liam knew damned well that, after everything that had just happened, he was ready to forgo the idea of commitment for a good long while and just let things in his life progress naturally. He had his career and he had his sights set on one woman that he wouldn't have minded getting to know a hell of a lot more. But the question was whether or not he'd be able to pull it all off without sending her running in the other direction.
Liam arched a brow at the tone she used when she said that Natalia would have lived happily with him. "No. I don't think so." He murmured with a shrug of his shoulder. "I know for a fact that she's been seeing another guy." He commented. "And I know that my misery wouldn't have made a very happy environment for her. And let's face it... I can be a bastard when I'm pissed off." He commented with a shrug of his shoulder. It was the truth and some people might have seen it as a major character flaw, but few people understood the weight and pressure that had been put on him from a very young age. It pissed him off that his parents had more or less written his sister off as a lost cause and put all of their 'hopes and dreams' on him. But now they'd be disappointed times two because their all-star son wasn't taking their crap anymore.
And Liam couldn't resist the urge to kiss her right there in front of the paparazzi. And it went a hell of a long way beyond the fact that he just wanted to piss his parents off. He was going to do what he wanted to do. He was going to see who he wanted to see. And even if getting Kahlan into some sort of committed relationship took him years to do, he'd wait. He wasn't in a huge rush. Not in a huge rush by any means. He smirked at her when they pulled away and she called him a bad boy. "I thought bad boys were supposed to be hot." He commented over his shoulder as they both sprinted off towards his truck.
He laughed, quickly shrugging the jacket to his suit off of his shoulders and draping it over her as he turned the truck on and threw it in reverse, peeling out of the lot as quickly as he could. "You might always be cold, but I usually do a damned good job at warming you up immediately after." He smirked. "It feels fucking amazing. Very liberating." For the first time in a long time, he didn't feel like he had a massive weight on his chest and shoulders pushing him down. He was free and he was loving every fucking moment of it. He turned his face into her palm for a moment, kissing it before grinning at her. "I'm glad I did it too." He murmured. And then she was asking him where the hell they were headed now. He blew out a breath. Definitely hadn't thought that far ahead of the game, but then he smiled and looked over at her. "Who the fuck cares?" He asked, arching a brow. "I say we just... drive. Wherever the hell we end up is fine with me. And in a few days, we can turn around and head back once I'm ready to deal with all of the bullshit." He smirked at her.

LEND ME YOUR EYES, I CAN CHANGE WHAT YOU SEE. BUT YOUR SOUL YOU MUST KEEP TOTALLY FREE. MEL/LIAM <3, 1046, SEXXY , THEY ARE STILL PERFECCCT. looking at the ground for a moment, kahlan could not erase the small doubt that was budding in the dark corners of her mind. he had just run out on his wedding and was now willing to go anywhere in the world with her as long as they kept driving, but the problem was; would he do the same to her? she prayed not but kahlan had always been a risktaker and though she was usually guarded with her heart, things were becoming easier for her when it came to matters that involved liam. he was tearing her walls down forcibly and she could not shake the strong feelings that she felt for him and even more so, she could not run from them. running was her best strength because it allowed her the chance to just escape but no matter what she did, things had not changed. she still felt something for the male but what that was could not be labeled yet. they were strong, positive feelings but it was not love, kahlan was far from loving anyone in her life or even getting herself to settle down but with liam, she was willing to try as long as he had the patience. ”I can think of one.” she said honestly, referring to his sister but she realized that it could have been taken in the wrong context but she did not correct herself. sitting there while he was standing on the alter was shocking and it was even more surprising to the female that it was physically painful to watch, ”and I was even surprised to get an invite. pretty sure that the wicked witch hated me.” she chuckled, before nodding as he continued, ”well good for her. glad she found someone else that made all her lovely ..”, trying to find the right words without being cynical or even hypocritical at this moment, ”fairy tale endings. yes you can, man..you guys would have ended the world when then the day came that you were both in foul moods.” she shook her head and clicked her tongue to make a “tk” sound of fake disappointment. she picked her head up to the sound of the cameras clicking and she flinched to the bright lights and the shouting that was coming from the hoard. ”this is quite a fan club that you have here..” she mumbled, stepping closer to him and turning her head. the lime light had never been interesting to kahlan, she had never wanted to be in the papers, had rumors made up about her, she had enough of that without the headlines needed to be added. the kiss though had made her forget all about the reporters until things like, who is she?[ and is this who you left natalia for? caught her attention and she pulled away from him. ”oh they are…but they need to be punished too cause that was just low..” she yelled back at him as her feet were pounding against the ground in a sprint to the car. she needed to get to the truck, she felt safe with at least something dividing her between the cameras and her diginity which she felt being lost in seconds as she knew her picture would be all over the paper. she wondered what her sister would think or her family that still resided in the town. slamming the door shut, she took a moment to catch her breath, glancing at him from the corner of her eye and hugging the coat closer to her, ”holy shit, that was a rush.” and then, kahlan was laughing. she felt like herself again, free spirit but this time with a small partner in crime that she would not mind getting to know better. she seemed to have had some influence on him and was curious to see what trait of his could be passed onto hers. ”your car does at first but you finish the job for sure.”, she chuckled and felt warm once again, letting the jacket slip off her bare shoulders. ”that’s how it should feel liam. it should feel right too. does it feel right?” she asked with some concern, not sure about what she was asking about—running off with her or actually running away from the life that had been forced onto him, maybe a little of both. chuckling to his sudden care free attitude, she shook her head to him and could not help but out right laugh as she pulled her hair from the ponytail and let it down, crashing against her back as she shifted in her seat to get comfortable, figuring the trip would be a long one, wherever they were going at least. ”I am such a horrible…but an amazing…influence on you. loving the new outlook”, giving him a smile as she turned her head and then leaned over to catch his lips in a kiss. ”driving? drive west and see where we end up. I like it. let’s go.”, looking down at her feet before raising an eyebrow, not really bothered by the fact that she was barefoot but leaning back into the seat. it felt right which was something that kahlan had not felt in a while. lately, she had been feeling low with the loss of her sister and the gain of a brother-in-law kind of guy that saw kahlan as nothing but a cheap whore. looking to liam from the side of her eye, she let it wonder down his form and chuckled, ”lose the tie and baby, you will be the hottest thing..”, chuckling as she reached over, pulling at the knot of the tie and slowly lowering it until the two ends broke apart and she chucked it to the floor. reaching over once more, she let a few buttons of the white shirt fall open before moving to undress some of herself as well. the sash that went around her waist was pulled away, letting the dress have a more natural figure instead of forced and she ran a hand through her hair, causing the straightened ends to go back into their natural wavy form, leaning back into her seat and watching the wide open before her, wondering just where they were going. Liam had indeed run out on his intended wife, but as far as he was concerned, it didn't say a damned thing about his ability or inability to commit to any kind of a relationship with another woman for the simple fact that he had always been entirely against the union to begin with. He'd never wanted to marry Natalia. She was spoiled, rich, a complete and utter bitch and was only willing to put a smile on her face and act the part of a decent human being when she absolutely needed to. Her idea of 'fun' was definitely not his idea of fun and, to be completely honest, he wasn't sure what the hell his father had been thinking to begin with. Liam would have been absolutely miserable for the rest of his life with that woman and, chances were, eventually, he'd wind up growing a pair of balls and divorcing her anyhow. This saved him a shitload of his smooth 18 million dollar a year contract and reduced the chance that she'd wind up knocked up with his kid and he'd have to wind up paying child support for years to come. That wasn't the man he wanted to be. Not by a long shot.
Liam smiled a little bit when she said that she could think of one person that would have been hurt. He wasn't sure whether she was referring to herself or his sister, but he'd take his chances and give himself the moment to think that she might have actually been talking about herself. And for a split second, Liam scared the shit out of himself when he imagined what Kahlan would look like all decked out in a beautiful white dress and walking down that aisle in front of him. But even though the thought panicked him for a moment, it felt a hell of a lot more right than it ever had with Natalia. The fact of the matter was that he would have been able to deal with a union like that, even if it would have sent his father into fits. Marrying a cocktail waitress wasn't on his father's list of plans for his 'golden boy' son. But Liam was tired of playing the part. There were more important things...
"That's why you were on the groom's side of the room. She didn't want you there but..." He shrugged. "I guess maybe I was looking for even more inspiration as to why the hell I shouldn't have gone through with it. I would have been miserable, Kahlan. She tried to tell me that we would have been happy, you know? Tried to convince me that this was what I wanted and that this was what she wanted. I've never heard someone throw their own bullshit around so much that they actually believe it." He shook his head. He shuddered a moment. "Honestly... could you imagine her pregnant? And I guarantee you that she was fucking crazy enough to try and pull the 'I'm pregnant, you can't leave me' card when divorce time rolled around. Because I couldn't have dealt with that my whole life. I just... I couldn't." He shook his head.
Liam wasn't inclined to answer anyone's questions just yet. He knew damned well that there'd be a wealth of rumors posted all over the damned place tomorrow morning, but he couldn't bring himself to give a shit. Not when he'd just managed to dodge a major bullet in his life. Not when he felt as if a huge weight had just been lifted off of his shoulders. He wanted to enjoy the small victory before he wound up coming back down to earth again. And he knew that Kahlan was going to help him in that respect. He had no idea what the next few days were going to yield, but he couldn't bring himself to care at the moment and he couldn't imagine anyone else in the world that he would rather be spending the time with. He'd just have to make sure to call in and check in with Julie every now and then to let her know that he was perfectly fine.
Lee sighed when she asked him if it all felt right. He nodded. "This feels right. Being with you right now feels right." He admitted, looking over at her. "Contrary to what the paparazzi are going to be saying about me for days to come, I'm not afraid of the idea of a relationship or commitment. Not in the least. I just... I couldn't be tethered to someone who was so incredibly different from me that it'd be like constantly living with a stranger. I need someone I can identify with. Someone who's willing to laugh with me and let loose every once in a while. I don't want to live like a robot. That's not me and never has been." He murmured. Maybe he felt a little guilty for leaving Natalia like he had, but he truly thought that she'd wind up being a hell of a lot better off for what he had done as well.
Lee couldn't help but let his fingers comb through her hair as she leaned over a moment and kissed him and then gave him the green light. Drive west. He could sure as hell do that. He put the truck in gear, pulled away from his parents estate and burned a strip of rubber on the road just in front of the estate. He was out of there. To hell with the idea of marrying the Ice Princess at the altar. He turned his head in her direction and smirked when she said that if he lost the tie he'd be the hottest thing. And then she was pulling the tie off herself. And then she loosened off a few of the buttons on his shirt. He paused a moment and captured her hand in his against his chest a moment and looked over at her. "Thanks, Kahlan. Seriously. I don't know what I'd be doing right now if it weren't for you." He admitted to her. And he offered her a small smile as well. "So. Any places you've wanted to see? Anything you've wanted to do? Now's the time to do it, Baby. Just the two of us. Anywhere in the USA."

she shrugged, giving his head a knock, pursing her lips, ”not entirely hollow after all. seems you grew a brain when you deserted her at the alter.” and though the words were harsh, that was the truth. he had left her at the altar, and did not even give a glance back. raising an eyebrow to him, she quickly shook her head and ducked it down to where she was staring at the ground but her shoulders rising and falling gave the impression that she was laughing, hard. the biting of her lip was enough to keep most of the snickers contained but some noise could be heard as she shook her head, ”oh that would be so fucked up for her to announce that…or actually be it. spawn of the devil if you ask me..actually, she thinks she is the devil, she is really a pussy cat.” because kahlan had taken the girl out with her words, she wondered what damage her fists would do that plastic face. ”if you couldn’t have done it, sounds like you made the right move to me.” she said with a nod of her head before the lights flashing, and a large crowd began to gather around them. it was too much, the limelight that is, for her to handle and she tried to duck her head down, hide herself from the pictures but she knew that she would be identified as the unknown female in all of the pictures anyway. that would be label until they came public with whatever they were, but her feet were now twitching to that thought and she had to keep herself grounded and not follow her gut for once because her heart was leading this operation this time. as she slid into the car, her arms immediately were covered in bumps of both excitement and a slight frigid feeling as she rushed to open the vent of the heater and warm herself up as soon as the ignition was turned on. ”well I am the teacher after all..” she grinned, not wanting to think about the double meaning of his words because then she was sure she would duck and roll out of the car at this moment. ”…why are you explaining this to me liam?..” she finally asked after his rant was over, her eyebrow raising as she looked at him. ”this is…I don’t know what this is…yet..” she spoke with honesty, shaking her head and kicking her shoes off, allowing herself to get more comfortable in the car as she was starting to internally feel rather uncomfortable with her feelings. ”then don’t let it. be carefree, be reckless, be stupid for once in your life…”, and kahlan would know first hand of all of this. she was constantly being all three of those listed adjectives, infact, it was the definition of her. she was sure that her life would end young, nothing to her name and no one that would really care but if it meant a full life, then it was worth it to her. leaning over, she pressed her lips to his as he was driving, showing the point that she was trying to make and letting him cross reckless of his list for just a second. her hand found his cheek, the kiss deepening and not even thinking about the direction that the car was now slowly serving into, but she pulled away after a moment, allowing his attention to go back to the road while hers went to making herself less dressed up. after her own outfit was deflated to be nothing more than a common look, except the actual dress which was rather fancy in appearance, she moved to fixing him. removing the tie, she tossed that behind her, letting the tie fall to the backseat, then her hands found the buttons of his shirt, letting a few of them loose. ”I have one rule..” she said, while lightly unpopping his collar and then pulling back to inspect her look. her hand was captured against his chest though, her eyebrow raised, ”don’t mention it….” she said with an uncomfortable clear of her throat before looking to him, shrugging, ”just drive until you get tired or want to have sex.” she said with a wink, leaning back in her own seat, her legs now folded under her and her head resting against the window, watching her entire life pass by her in the form of the town.[/div]

THIS POST IS THE HARDWORKING AND DELICIOUS MEL WITH HER CHARACTER, LIAM . Liam didn't miss the look on her face when he said that she hadn't been invited to the wedding by the bride at all and that it was Liam and Liam alone who had extended the invitation to her. "You take pride in that, don't you?" He said, giving her a side long glance as a smirk played at his lips. Natalia was a number of things. She had brainwashed herself, seemingly, a number of years ago into thinking that there was only one outcome in life. Liam knew that he had been pretty harsh in leaving her at the altar as it stood, but he knew damned well that, no matter how much she pretended to be, she would never really be happy. And as much as Natalia had pissed him off, no one deserved to live their life completely loathing what they had become and the life they were leading. He arched a brow at her. "Ow..." He said in a bland tone when she knocked on his head.
He shrugged a shoulder at what Kahlan said about it being fucked up if she came out and announced that she was, in fact, pregnant. "Fucked up wouldn't even begin to cover it." He said, raking a hand through his hair. Because he had to admit... the thought of it scared the shit out of him. He may not have been happy with the idea of marrying Natalia, but they had slept together when he had first met her and he had managed to shut her up long enough to get the deed done. She was so much hotter when she wasn't talking. He had learned that a long time ago. But it was all said and done now. He just hoped that there wouldn't be any little surprises like that in the future. Then again... what the hell were the odds?
"And you're a damned good teacher." He murmured. He laughed a little bit the next moment, however, when she asked him why it was that he was explaining those things to her. "Chill, Kahlan. Relax. I'm not going to spontaneously ask to get hitched in Vegas. Hell. I'm not even ready for the slightest idea of a relationship after the shit I just went through. You're a woman. A hell of a woman. You're hot and you're a shitload of fun. You're a friend and exactly what I need right now." He simplified it for her. "No strings attached. No complications. No labeling anything. We're good the way we are." He shrugged a shoulder. And to him, right now, it was as simple as that because he felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders.
He looked at her when she told him to be carefree, reckless and stupid for once in his life. He bit his lower lip for a moment, sighed and then nodded. "Responsibility is not a word in our vocabulary on this particular outing." He commented, looking at her with a smile. And he was going to do his best not to worry about everything. The only responsibility that he would admit to coping to was his sister. Maybe tomorrow when they managed to stop somewhere he'd take a few minutes and call her just to make sure she was okay. He worried about her a hell of a lot. He definitely worried about her state of mind while their father was on a massive rampage.
He arched a brow again at her little stipulation that she set on their trip. "I think I like that rule." He admitted to her with a sheepish smile. "But you probably shouldn't have told me that just yet." He commented as he signaled onto the freeway. "Because I'm fucking ready now and always will be ready. However... We need to put some mileage between us and that wedding." He commented with a sigh.

she chuckled, knowing that the smirk on her face after her words was a good enough of an indicator that she was all the more proud about her presence not being welcomed by the bride. she raised an eyebrow while her hand dropped back to the side and she tilted her head to the side, ”right, you usually have a helmet on when you got knocked in the head..”, chuckling before leaning up and pressing a kiss to his forehead, her lips lingering for a moment as a tingling sensation rushed over her but she quickly ignored it and stepped backed from it. she licked her lips afterwards, trying to lose his taste and the all-around content feeling that she had before her eyebrow arched even more and she suddenly had a line of tremors running down her body, ”that thing would be part bitch, part bastard..”, and she hoped that it would never come to be the latter. as much as kahlan had no likeness or even respect for the heiress, she did not wish anything bad upon the unnamed, unborn child that she would bore one day—that would just be bad karma on kahlan’s side if she did. after running from the hoard of photographers who were asking questions, taking pictures, and after her feet were starting to ache from the actual running, she was relaxed in the car. her body was relaxed at least but her mind was rushing at a speed that was unfamiliar to her as she never usually put much thought into anything that she did. a wild spirit, kahlan let her mind be ignored while her body took action with the first thought that came to mind, which would explain the black out nights where she drank more than she could contain, the times were she disappeared for days on end and worried her sister to death and the moments of sexual ideas popping into her head and using her wiles to get what she wanted. her body tensed though, feeling her muscles constrict to the idea of being tied down as he was expanding on the attributes that he was looking for and she only saw herself mirrored in those words, but her mind ceased that initial thought before she began to fidget a little with the silk material of her pink dress. relaxing as he continued, she nodded to him, taking in a deep breath because she needed to tell herself that this could work, one day but not today. kahlan was too much of a free spirit and though liam made her feel grounded, it was not by much from her original disposition of being care free. he gave her the opening to a whole new world that she had been ignoring, turning her back to but the thought was becoming more tempting plus, the thought of her sister doing it, her role model, made it all the more interesting to her. ”oh thank g-d..” she said outloud before shaking her head, ”I just mean that’s a relief…for now. and I’m more than a friend.” she said, raising an eyebrow as she looked over to him. she was a friend that was able to fall into bed with him on a whim, someone that she could rely on but the favor might not always be returned, she was too wild of a friend, planting thoughts in his head, ”I’m your worst influence..”, giving him a wink before looking back out the window, watching the city that she grew up in pass before her in a blur. ”that word is never in my vocabulary anyway, and I was going to knock it out of yours as well.”, a grin spreading across her lips before her gaze caught his out of the corner of her eye. she really was not someone that was cautious or carefree except when it came to matters of the heart and that was where responsibility was instilled into her. she was not going to give her damaged heart to anyone that was going to toss it away and liam seemed like the best contender at this point in time but this road trip was certainly going to test the both of them. ”that wasn’t the rule..” she said with a roll of her eyes before running a hand up his leg, her fingers danced around the area before diving into his pocket and pulling his phone out, ”this..is off limits except to call your sister. no agents, no dad, no talia, no anyone but Julie..” because she knew how important his sister was to him. ”that is the rule mr.smart guy..” she said chuckling with a roll of her eyes before placing the phone along side hers in the pocket by the door. her phone was blowing up and only the screen would light up as she had turned into onto silent. ”drive faster than mr.freedom.” she said with a chuckle, her head leaning back and her eyes starting to close to the feeling of the rocking car on the bumpy road to no where. .[/div]

THIS POST IS THE HARDWORKING AND DELICIOUS MEL WITH HER CHARACTER, LIAM . Lee had to smirk at her. "No, you can't hide your pride worth a damn at the heart of it all." He commented with a shake of his head. In fact, she was even worse at it than he was most of the time. But he didn't mind in the least. Truth be told, it was one of the many things that he found extremely attractive about her. She was confident without being a completely arrogant bitch about it. Not on the same level that Natalia was, anyhow. Liam liked confidence and perhaps a hint of arrogance, but Natalia had just been a fucking harpy. She had never given up. Kahlan was a whole hell of a lot more smooth in most situations. He liked that. He liked that a lot. "Ouch... You saying any child of mine would automatically be part bastard because it's my kid?" He asked with a grin. If only the world knew the half of it. He'd practically raised his sister along with the nannies that their household had kept.
Liam had to look over at Kahlan when she said she was relieved to know that Liam's thoughts weren't headed anywhere in that particular direction. He'd just gotten himself out of one sticky situation and was, by no means, prepared to jump head long into another one. Marriage was about the last thing on his mind at the moment what with everything that had happened. "If I ever wind up doing all that for real, it's going to be with a woman that I actually ask to marry me. Not with someone my dad wants me to marry." He muttered. It was simple as that. He wasn't going to let himself be dictated by what his family wanted in that respect. And if they attempted to disown him for having fled the scene of the crime here, he'd deal with it. If they attempted to disown him for whoever the hell his future wife was, he'd deal with that too.
At the heart of it, he could take care of himself if he damned well needed to. He didn't need his father's money and had never really had his support anyhow. His family wasn't a family so much as a group of people that shared DNA. His father wasn't really a father but rather a sperm donor. It really was as simple as that in Liam's eyes. He had had a rude awakening when he'd told his father that he didn't want to go through with this and his father had insisted anyhow. He'd thought that they had bonded over his football over the years but apparently he'd been incredibly wrong. He was a businessman. Not a family man.
He smiled at Kahlan. "You're right about that. You are more than a friend." He commented, leaving it at that. She had been there for him when no one else, save his sister, had been. She'd listened to him when he'd said he didn't want to go through with this when everyone else had assumed that it was his duty. She'd encouraged him not to let himself get dragged into a situation where he knew he'd be miserable for the rest of his life and he knew damned well that if she ever needed anyone to do the same for her, he'd be there for her just as willingly. He owed her that at the very least and what was more, he found that he wanted to be that same person for her. "At the moment, I think I might classify you as my best influence." He shot back at her.
Liam had to admit that he liked the way she was touching him perhaps a little too much at the moment. He was distracted by her. Very much so. As was evident by the fact that his speed picked up a little bit. But it slowed down when she tugged the cell phone out of his pocket and announced that his phone was off limits unless he was calling his sister. His heart sank a little when he thought of Julie. "She's probably wondering where the hell I am by now." He sighed. "When we make our first stop, I need to call her." He said simply enough. "She needs to know I'm okay." He couldn't even begin to imagine what her reaction to all of this would be. He was willing to bet that she'd be happy that he hadn't gone through with the wedding though.
She told him to drive faster and he put his foot down on the gas pedal a little bit harder. "Yes Ma'am." He muttered, looking at her out of the corner of his eye and grinning at her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true][/style][atrb=style, width: 525px; border-bottom: 20px #15165B solid, bTable]I SEE THAT YOU'VE COME SO FAR to be right where you are [style=height: 317px; width: 250px; margin-right: -520px; font-size: 8.5px; font-family: tahoma; text-align: justify; line-height: .9; text-transform: lowercase; overflow: auto; scrollbar-base-color:#A36954; color: #000;]she had no idea why the smirk would not leave her flawless features, but it was staying put with even the inkling of a thought when it came to being on talia’s naughty list. there was no denying it so she let it be known through both words and through her facial expression, chuckling and staring at the ground for a moment, giving a shameless shrug to his words. pride was one of the seven deadly sins and though lust and gluttony were on the top of her list, pride was certainly up there as well due to her oversized ego that appeared verbally and physically. she carried herself with pride, shoulders back, chin high and she did not usually let herself get down and forced the negative thoughts out of her head as best as she could. it was hard sometimes, especially with people that were considered to be friends or even her own sister and though she tried to take everything with a grain of salt, it proved to be more difficult sometimes. the first time that the two had met was one of her bad days, letting everything seep into her thoughts, words like “whore” and “worthless” constantly swirling around her brain with an intense hatred for herself but as soon as the negativity came, it left. she was quick to rise back onto her feet most of the time and this was one where she was going to milk the positive thoughts and energy as much as she could. ”hmm..” |
she had considered her words, cringing to the idea of even a relation to the title of mother as kahlan had an dutiful mother, beautiful and strong but kahlan could never see it for herself. the idea of living up to her mother’s standards was hard to imagine and even harder to execute so she pushed the thoughts of motherhood aside. ”kind of.” she said with a cruel honesty to her words as there was no other way to describe him as father, and even more would be to natalia’s child. ”but I doubt that you are the only candidate if the witch did happen to reproduce..” and giving a shrug, dismissing the idea as the thought was growing strong and was actually causing her heart to race. the rush to the car lasted for a moment, breathing heavily as she was not actually used to the idea of exercise and was a little breathless even in the short jog that it took. the car accelerated and kahlan leaned back, letting herself relax into the seat with a need to feel comfortable, less she duck and rolled out of the car. she shook her head to his words, trying to drown him out because she knew that tht topic was too sensitive for herself and she would end up actually trying to bail out of the trip that would occur. giving a low chuckle that was full of nerves a little bit of an uncommon uncomfortable tone to it, ”you’ll get there..” but she wouldn’t and that was something that kahlan was sure about. she was confident that marriage, a family, a baby, anything resembling a fairytale ending would be ruined with her antics of infidelity. commitment was not her thing and it was the main piece of a relationship that mattered, alongside trust which the girl did not excel at having. ”being true to yourself is always a good step…” she mumbled, having remember her mother and father reciting that line to her many times but she never really understood the importance of it until she was the only one that could be relied on. in that moment, she realized that being herself was the only thing that she could be with the loss of her parents and then only a good decade later, her sister. sighing, her legs tucked beneath her form, pushing herself up a little higher in the seat and using the new found height to rest her head correctly against the elevated headrest. it was comfortable and though her body was physically content with the position, her thoughts, and emotions were not as stotic and she had to keep her fingers moving across her the silk material of her dress to keep herself from asking to be let out of the car. leaving kahlan alone in silence meant that her thoughts would catch up to herself that much faster, and that was never a good thing. ”really now?” she asked with very little emotion as to her usual excitement that would be come because the words friend was a dangerous enough word but adding that she was more than such was difficult to process. she wanted to push the topic further but shifting her body, she found that once more, the topic made her uncomfortable in both her physical sense and an emotional aspect and she let it drop from her mind. she chuckled lightly, shaking her head, ”not exactly something you should say with such confidence..” as kahlan had never really thought of herself as a good person, let alone someone that should be influencing another. she was not the most reliable person, she was hardly able to keep her own head above water and yet, she felt like she might be dragging liam down with her at this point, pushing him to go out of his character but at the same time, giving him that push that he wanted to break free from an oppressing rule. nodding as he mentioned his sister, she could not but think to calin who was probably worried at this point as they had conversed rather blandly just to let the other know that they were alive. things were rocky in that department and it was at this moment that kahlan had never realized how alone she was in the world, ”she’ll know. no worries, I’ll be sure to remind you..” she spoke, nodding as kahlan had control of the phone and though she was irresponsible, the idea of that little girl worrying were tugging at her heart strings and she could not stomach the idea of doing that to her. ]”promise.”, it was a rare word but it was one that was spoken with pure trust in herself and his own worry about his sister as she flipped his phone in between her thumb and her index finger, letting it dangle over her lap. ”you just got to drive right now until you get tired or you just want to turn around. but for now, focus on the road cause I will be damned if I die due to you being distracted by my hands..”. chuckling as she removed her hand from his leg, giving it a small squeeze near the top of his thigh, ”and don’t look back..” because kahlan knew that mistake all too well and it was one that would cause regret and the car to turn around and go back to fix the wrongs that were made. .[/div]
