The sixteen year old girl was emancipated which meant she answered to no one but herself but things were difficult now that things had ended with Forrest. Aside from the day to day struggles of having lost her son to SIDs which ultimately lost her the man of her dreams and left her heartbroken to the core, Marley didn’t have the means to actually live on her own anymore. The band she’d been working with was back in England but when things ended, she had to leave that place because everything reminded her of Forrest. Every time someone talked in an English accent, every time she ordered tea, everything. So she flew back to America but she didn’t even attempt to go home to Illinois. That’s where she’d met the father of her child and that’s where her and her best friend, who was a mother of a beautiful girl, had grown up. There was no way she could stand going back.
But South Carolina didn’t seem bad. Marley was still trying to fit in and people like Haiden made it easy. Still, Marley didn’t feel like she belonged anywhere, not like she’d belonged with Forrest and Hannah. The good thing about Haiden though, besides enjoying his company, was that Marley would be warm and it seemed like forever since she’d been warm for any period of time. As night fell, Marley found herself huddling to try and stay warm but not tonight. Sweet old Haiden had a spot for her and it was guaranteed to be warm because it was Hai. Marley was more than a little ecstatic. She had hurried from her spot in the 24 hour gym that provided her warmth most nights over the Haiden’s, doing her best to shield from the onslaught of rain that was falling from the sky.
When she arrived, she was soaked but it would be ok. Stepping into the building, she wrung out her hair on the mat and proceeded to do the same with her shirt before heading up to Haiden’s, her feet making squishing sounds as she walked. Knocking on the door, she vaguely wondered just how terrible she looked after her walk and hoped he’d be willing to front her some clothes or something because there was no way she could sit on his couch, let alone snuggle with him, like this.

[/div] AND IGNITE YOUR BONES - - - - AND I WILL TRY TO FIX YOU There was very few days that Haiden Schraft spent his nights alone, whether it was hanging out with friends or sometimes getting laid. As he lay sprawled across his couch somewhat sobering up, Haiden was on the chat room for the town. Oh it got interesting in that chat room sometimes and he was always in there talking or arguing. Of course, arguing with people wasn't always that much fun, he just liked to make it seem that way. Especially when it came to Trent, the one guy Haiden thought he was going to get along with and it wound up quickly becoming a hatred between them. All because of Auralee, a girl he had come around to really enjoy being around and was just making jokes that Trent took way too seriously. Whatever, he would have to tolerate Trent to be friends with Lee.
Lucky for him, Marley was online and Haiden had found she was a great friend. The girl may have struggled with life and other things, but she had a good heart. Haiden felt bad because she didn't seem to really have a home and he was beginning to contemplate offering her a place to stay. Of course, he would have to wait until Krystal left since she was in his spare room but if Marley needed somewhere to crash for a few nights, there was always the couch he was currently laying on. This thing was practically a bed in itself since it was over stuffed and the seats were wide. Haiden's rather large body fit on them quite comfortably and he could never complain about it since he was always comfortable. Marley would get swallowed up by the couch but it would be somewhere warm to sleep.
The knock on his door brought a slight groan from him as he realized that he had locked the door. Now he had to drag his tired, achy body off the couch to go open the door for her. Eh, that was alright, he would do it for Marley. It took him a minute to get to the door but when he opened it, he was greeted by a drowned rat and it made him laugh a bit. "Come on in, drowned one," he stepped back to let her in and locked the door again. "You want to get a shower and borrow some dry clothes?" He offered, knowing it was tough on her. Haiden tried his best to cater to her, to make her feel at home and right now he was wondering if she'd even accept staying at the house. Sometimes, just sometimes, he felt her pride got in the way but that was with anyone. tagged .

She probably looked pathetic and she sloshed in as he stepped back to let her in. ”Sorry I’m a mess.” She giggled, pushing her hair back. Marley was thankful beyond a doubt that she didn’t have to sleep out in this weather. The offer of a shower and some dry clothes sounded delightful and she gave Haiden a grateful smile. ”A shower sounds amazing.” She admitted. She slid her shoes off to prevent from sloshing water all over his place and went straight for the bathroom. Mooching off of people wasn’t something that Marley liked making a habit of but her body was thoroughly chilled, she probably smelled like a wet dog, and cuddling with a wet girl probably wouldn’t have been much fun for Haiden, no pun intended.
Once in the confines of the bathroom, Marley stripped off her wet clothes and put them in the sink before poking her head out the door, using it to shield her body. As it was, even behind the door, part of the tattoo across her collarbone showed and possibly even a little piece of the tattoo on her left ribcage. She wasn’t in a habit of showing off the artwork her ex boyfriend had put on her but she certainly wasn’t ashamed of the things that made her happy once upon a time. ”Just set the clothes down in here for me please?” She asked, giving him a little smile before shutting the door, starting the water and climbing into the shower, adjusting the water so steam enveloped her quickly. Being that she got so few chances to actually enjoy hot water, even though she showered at the gym in its luke warm water frequently, Marley allowed herself to indulge.
Sighing as the hot water relaxed her muscles, she hurriedly showered up, washing her hair and using his man soap on her body. She didn’t mind. It made her smell musky but beggars can’t be choosers. Once she was cleaned off, she climbed out, drying herself off and pulling on the attire he’d set out for her before opening the door and heading out, using a hair band to pull her hair up to keep it from dripping all over the place. Anything Haiden gave her that fit him, would have eaten her small frame alive but again, Marley didn’t mind.
Looking around as she wandered out, she smiled brightly when she spotted him, going right over to give him a hug. ”Thank you Haiden. I feel worlds better.” She said, feeling bad for making him function instead of just enjoying his drunkenness but if he had anything more to drink, she’d help him out a bit and retrigger the fun.

[/div] AND IGNITE YOUR BONES - - - - AND I WILL TRY TO FIX YOU Haiden wasn't one to turn a blind cheek to someone in need, especially a friend in need. It wasn't like he would be that asshole to just walk away from someone who obviously needed a warm shower to chase the chill away and dry clothes to keep it away. Marley had done a lot for him even if she didn't know it and he was going to repay her for it all some day. Maybe that repayment would be in the form of a place to stay until she could get on her feet or maybe it would just be being a good friend to her. He had to find a way to keep her safe, and her being out on the streets is not safe in his mind. Just like today, with the pouring rain and cold weather setting in, he didn't want her outside.
Smiling as she walked off to the bathroom, he rubbed his chest in thought until the door opened. Haiden couldn't help but gaze at the sight of there being tattoos on her collar bone and then down her side. He actually bit his lip lightly since Haiden was covered in tattoos himself so obviously he enjoyed them. "Yeah, of course," he broke his minor trance before nodding and going to get her some clothes. He knew she was so tiny he wouldn't have something that wouldn't swallow her whole but he loved seeing girls in his clothes. It was always so cute how they rolled the sweatpants and tied the shirts back, or how they simply swam in the clothes.
Haiden was lounging on the couch again when she came back out, flipping onto his back to accept her hug. Of course he pulled her down on top of him, already wanting snuggles so he trapped her against the back of the couch. "You're welcome, Marley. Couldn't have you catching a cold now, could I?" he smiled gently and played with the ends of her wet hair. tagged .

When she emerged from the bathroom in his sweats and his shirt, she had to lift the sweats off the floor as she walked to keep from stumbling on them but she felt extremely comfortable in his attire. When she settled in, her toes wouldn’t be cold because she wouldn’t be able to just snuggle in the attire he’d provided her. Oh how she loved it. It smelled of him and she was just perfectly content to snuggle in the loose fitting clothes. Yes, this was Marley’s heaven right here, or the closest thing she could get to it. Heaven was really a place where her heart was whole and Marley’s heart was about as whole as Haiden’s. She could smile and pretend to be okay but when the lights went out and there was nothing to distract from the thoughts that same around the dark edges of your brain, the cracks really showed.
When he wrapped his large arms around her and pinned her to the back of the couch, she giggled, smiling brightly and watching him. It was so warm caught between him and the cushions. Marley was quite content on not moving from this spot till her stomach threatened to eat her insides. ”Glad you feel that way.” She laughed, ruffling his hair playfully. Her legs automatically entwined with his, snagging one of the sport toned appendages between her thighs and twisting her legs around it. It was habit more than anything. It was how two lovers got closer and for Marley, while Haiden wasn’t her lover, it was how she felt close to people again. Marley liked feeling close to someone because most the time she felt so alone that sometimes she wondered if anyone would miss her if she went. Not that Marley ever had any real thoughts of suicide, just thoughts about death, like everyone had.
Looking up at him, Marley leaned in closer, taking advantage of her personal heater, moving in close enough that she could blink and he could feel her eyelashes on his cheek, butterfly kisses. Her way of thanking him for being amazing to her. She bumped him with her nose and settled back just far enough to see him. ”How have you been Haiden?” She asked with a smile. This was without a doubt the most comfortable and safe she’d felt in what felt like a long time.
