She look like dis and I'm not even sorry.Mikki had to admit that she was growing a little bit restless. She was wondering if she needed to give up the game where her newest little interest was concerned. But then again, when she really thought about it, the man who she had given her number to and had started a game of cat and mouse with wasn't small by any means. Not physically and not in his sheer presence either. He was confident and she knew that he needed to be to even consider pursuing the avenue of opportunities that he was pursuing where his education was concerned. She liked confidence far more than she had anticipated that she would. Far, far more.
It appeared, even in spite of all of her experience in the particular path that she was venturing down, that she didn't quite know herself as well as she otherwise would have liked to think that she did. Maybe this would turn out to be a learning experience for the both of them... If he managed to find her before he lost interest in the chase. But something told her that a man like that wouldn't lose interest. Not in the least. She just had to be a little patient and bide her time.
Mikki was lost in thought at the moment. She'd been seated outside on campus in spite of the cooler air, jotting down notes for her most recent ideas surrounding one of her books. She was finished classes for the day as it was, but she found that, sometimes, just sitting out in the open and watching the bustle of people around her went a long way to giving her some much needed ideas when it came to her writing. At the moment, however, the ideas weren't coming for the simple fact that she was so lost in thought about tall, blonde and handsome - Clayton. That had been his name. Clayton.
She sighed to herself, tucking her long dark blonde hair behind one ear before she gave up on the concept of writing anything at the moment. She flipped the notebook she had on her lap closed and then tucked it away in the bag that she had over her shoulder. She stood up and was about to make her way towards her car when her cell phone vibrated in her pocket. Fishing it out, she looked at the screen.
"For someone so sure she could hide, I found you pretty easily. Skills proven. Turn around." Instantly, she spun around and looked up. And sure enough, there was the object of her fascination staring her down with that ridiculously attractive little smirk on his face. She gave him a small little smirk and then shot a text back to him.
Found me, yes. But you haven't caught me.
And the moment he glanced down at the screen for his phone, she slipped back into the crowd once more, heading for her car. By the time he glanced up again, he'd likely be able to make out the sight of her retreating form and the bright red oversized bag she had slung over her shoulder.

Clayton had been busy lately with school, his puppy tucker trying to eat his class books and finding his mystery woman. The last thing on his list was proving to be entertaining as he only had the name ‘mikki’ to go on and her phone number. He couldn’t even just wander around campus calling her phone to listen for the ring since he didn’t know her ringtone and with so many phones going off everywhere it would be pointless. He’d been pushed to alternate means like asking his friends if they knew who she was and spending a lot of time on campus looking at the people around him. It was a little chilly out but not too bad and he was learning he could actually work pretty well when surrounded by people moving around even if half of his attention was on people watching instead of the work itself. He just checked over what he’d done once he got back home and make sure he hadn’t written down anything ridiculous and had included all that needed to be there. Editing after the fact was pretty damned easy and he was a good student anyway so he could handle the distraction and not let his work slip.
He was sure he would find her, hide and seek was a game he was the master at after all and the campus for the college was only so big. Few questions here and there told him where psychology students would be likely to be spotted and going from that information led him to people watching in likely areas looking for her. Some people would think it odd that he spent time trying to find a strange woman who’d written her number on his hand in lipstick and left him with just that to go by until he’d spoken to her in the town chatbox. He didn’t think it weird, he thought of it as challenging and worth pursuing because it wasn’t your normal “boy meets girl, they go out, they fuck, end of story” kind of thing. If it started out this interesting he could only imagine where he could go after he’d found her plus a suggestion or two she’d made were just too tempting not to give a chance to at the very least.
The last of his classes for the day being done with led him back toward a common area he’d hoped would lead to spotting her or getting closer to finding her at the very least. Today luck was on his side as he watched a woman put what looked like a notebook into her bag and he waited for a glimpse of her face to see if his gut was right and he’d spotted her. Getting the peek he needed he felt his lips twist into a little smirk as he pulled his phone from his pocket shooting a text to the number that had been in his phone taunting him since meeting her. He waited for her to get it and started toward her as she checked her phone watching as she turned and looked right at him. Seeing the smirk that twisted her lips he knew when his phone chimed in his hand that the text had to be from her since he’d watched her send it and glanced down to read.
The words had his eyes jerking back up just in time to see her disappearing into the crowd and he glanced around knowing the area pretty well now from hanging around it. Moving without thinking he ducked and weaved his way around the crowd of people to circle toward the parking lot since that seemed to be where she was headed guessing from the direction. He wasn’t about to lose her now that he’d caught her and his fingers typed out a quick text as he settled into step behind her without a word after moving through the crowd to get there. ”Boo.” was all it said and he waited for her phone to go off and her to check it before reaching out to tap her shoulder to draw her attention to him. ”Good try. The bag made it easy to keep eyes on you though and thanks to you I know this campus pretty well now.” he said his smirk still in place.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry.Mikki sighed as she felt a tap on her shoulder and finally spun around to come face to face with Clayton. Good lord. He was even more exceptionally good looking up close and personal than he had been before. Or maybe it was just the anticipation and the personality that had come out in their little game of cat and mouse that was doing it to her. Either way, she knew that the man had definitely earned his prize. But his prize now was based solely on his desire, as was stated in their verbal contract. "Caught me." She said, the teasing smile on her lips.
She leaned back against the dark red Benz behind her - the first gift she'd bought herself once her forth book had been published - and looked up at him. Way up at him. She wasn't far off in telling Ruth that he was, for all intents and purposes, her man-tree. While he easily stood over six feet tall. Mikki was her typical 5'3" height. She was banking on the fact that the man in front of her was probably a full foot taller than her. And utterly mouth watering. She pulled her eyes back up to his for a moment and watched him, curious what his next move from here would be.
"I guess it's a good thing I was getting restless waiting for you to actually find me after all." She commented. "But I have to wonder just how hard you were trying to find me." She reached out and dusted an invisible fleck of fluff off of his t-shirt. Really, it was more or less an excuse to touch him at this point. She gave him a pouty look and held her hands out in front of him in a fashion that would have been reserved for someone handcuffing her. "You caught me though. I'm yours to do with as you will." She smiled at him.
She remembered the agreement all too well. He had found her and now it was time for her to hold up her end of he bargain. "You have a full 24 hours in which to do with me as you please." She eyed him up and down a moment, the teasing smile never leaving her lips. "Lucky you." But her tone suggested that she might have been the lucky one in this case. "So. Where'll it be then, Clayton?" She asked him. "And what, exactly, do you have in mind?"

Clayton watched as Mikki turned around to face him and stated the obvious, the height difference meaning he was looking down at her literally not metaphorically. The woman who stood before him was beautiful which was something he’d noticed the last time they’d been face to face when she’d written her number on his hand in lipstick. He couldn’t help noticing it again and wondering if maybe his opinion was tampered with by the fact that she was challenging and fun if their game was anything to go by. He didn’t care either way because he’d finally caught her and that meant he’d won this challenge though he wasn’t sure it was the only one they’d put each other through if this got off the ground and proved to be worth both of their time. Some would think he was thinking too far ahead but he’d had time to think during this game of cat and mouse and if a woman could be cool like this, hot as she was, and interesting as she’d proven to be in their short conversation then it was worth looking into.
Glancing at the car she was leaning against he couldn’t stop his eyebrow from lifting as he took in the beauty with an engine. Two gorgeous ladies before him, it was his lucky day and he wouldn’t be wasting it if he got his way. Hearing her speaking he looked back at the woman away from the car and gave her his best charming smile. ”Well you were a challenge to find but I told you I would and I did? Spent more time people watching since meeting you than I ever have before in my life and that’s saying something since I grew up in vegas where people watching is most entertaining because there are so many kinds of people.” he admitted with a casual shrug as if it was no big deal while he’d been close to ripping out his hair for wanting to find her before she lost interest in their game and him in general.
The offer of getting to do what he wanted with her had the smirk returning to his lips as he considered his options listening as she continued to speak laying out the 24 hours ground rule and asking where and what he had in mind. Holding out a hand he lifted an eyebrow at the woman, ”Keys? If we’re going by my rules for 24 hours you don’t know what we’re doing ahead of time, you find out when it happens and I’m driving because having to give directions to places just doesn’t work for my rule.” he said also partially just wanting to drive the car and hoping she’d agree to this.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry.Mikki didn't miss the way he looked at her car in the least. She'd needed a new car when she had bought it. She'd known that she'd wanted to treat herself when it came to the car she wound up buying and had looked into getting a Mercedes Benz almost immediately. What she hadn't been counting on was the fact that she'd fall in love with the SL... which meant that her car was a $250,000 one. She knew that the man in front of her appreciated it, and she couldn't help the smug little smile that the knowledge brought. She may not have known a hell of a lot about cars as it was, but she knew what she liked and her car was definitely her baby.
"Well then..." She said with a shrug of her shoulder. "Glad to know this was at least a bit of an educational experience for you as well." She was still giving him that teasing little smirk. "People watching is fun though. It's amazing how much people give away just with the way they carry themselves." She commented. "Like you. You walk like a man with a purpose. Confidence... You have a bit of a swagger to you. It's insanely attractive." She admitted to him with a shrug of her shoulder. "I could people watch you all day." She assured him. And truthfully, she could have plenty of fun just watching Clayton all day.
He held out a hand towards her, clearly wanting something from her. And then, in the next moment, he made it clear by announcing that he wanted her keys for the car and then going as far as stating a number of reasons as to why. She pulled the keys out of her purse a moment, pouting at the idea of handing them over to the man, but after a moment, she dangled them in front of him. Just as he went to snatch them, she closed her hand around them. "Let me see your driver's license first. You're attractive but this is my baby." She pointed out to him. "I bought her with hard earned money, so you'd better be legitimate and you'd better be a decent driver or..." She smirked as she eyed him up and down. "You'd better know yourself a good lawyer." She teased.
A moment later, however, she handed the keys over to him and headed for the passenger's side. The moment she was inside and he had the key in the ignition, she reached across his lap and pushed a button near the driver's side window that activated the roof for the car. Slowly, the hard top lifted and rolled back into a compartment above the trunk and the car was completely convertible. Just like that. Mikki pulled her hair back and tied it off in a loose ponytail. "And you'd better not slip the clutch or I'll be pissed right off." She said as a second warning before she leaned back in her seat, crossed one leg over the other and just waited to see where the hell it was that he would take her.

Clayton could appreciate a really nice car, he actually wished he drove a really nice car but his own car only played nice when it wanted too right now and had been more of a “because I didn’t have anything else to drive and it was cheap” kind of car at first. He was saving up to fix the issue eventually since the car was good just had engine problems and required parts he couldn’t yet afford. Once he could though he’d be fixing it up and he’d have it running beautifully till he could buy a ‘really nice’ car instead. He was honestly more interested in the woman than her car though and while the car spoke of wealth, which didn’t mean much to him since he wasn’t shallow enough to want to find a woman and her money. What it told him that was important was that she had good taste and that there was a “spice” to Mikki that went along with his thoughts of her being quite interesting to get to know.
His chest rumbled with a chuckle at her words about it being a learning experience for him and he gave a quick nod to that of agreement. He learned that the chase was fun and that there was a lot more to this campus and it’s students than he’d originally thought. Listening to her he felt an eyebrow lift at her assessment of him just by how he walked and gave another quick nod. ”Confidence I have and the swagger…well I guess that’s just something that developed but you didn’t make it sound like a bad thing so I won’t go trying to change it.” he said and smirked giving a lift to one shoulder in a shrug. ”Feel free to people watch me any time you like. Always happy to entertain.” he said his tone just a touch cocky but not in the “I know I’m great glad you noticed now worship me” kind of way, just the simple “yeah I’m me and it works” kind of way..
He waited for her to either tell him no on the subject of him driving or hand over the keys, curious what she’d actually do and watching as she pulled out the keys dangling them in front of him. He was glad she’d chosen this path since he hadn’t wanted their game to end so soon and reached to take the keys stopping himself as she covered them with her own hand and chuckling as his other hand reached for the wallet in his back pocket offering it to her. ”License is in there, if you could do a background check on me you’d find out I’ve not even ever gotten a speeding ticket let alone wrecked a car.” he said honestly, amused by her comment about knowing a good lawyer and the way she’d thought to ask at all about his license. Cautious but playful about it, that was oddly a turn on to him it seemed. He'd let her look through his wallet if she so chose to do so, he had nothing in there worth hiding just his license, some cash, bank card, picture of him and his mom, and other random scraps of paper along with a condom.
Taking the keys as she handed them over he moved around to the drivers side sliding half of himself in and the key into the ignition before chuckling. ”Gonna have to move the seat, I’m bigger than you and driving with my knees up by my ears isn’t safe.” he said and adjusted the seat so he could fit before settling into it and pulling the belt across his chest and lap clicking it into place. ”Oh don’t worry about that, my mustang’s a stick.” he said knowing the amount of people who still drove stick shifts these days was growing smaller and smaller with all the automatic cars out there but he’d learned on a manual and had driven one all his driving-life. Starting the car and heading out he picked a restaurant in his head that wasn't fancy but wasn't a dump either and made his way toward it. "Hope you don't have any more classes today."

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry. She smiled a little at his comment about the swagger. "No. It's not a bad thing on you. It's sexy as hell, actually." She said in a matter-of-fact tone. "It's one of those things that adds to the appeal. On some people, it would take away from it, but you do it well." She shrugged at him. She didn't know how else to explain it. There were some people that could pull it off without appearing arrogant. He was one of them. Other people just needed a swift kick in the ass to knock themselves down a peg or two in her very professional opinion. But there was only so much you could do. She smiled to herself again as she gave him another well-deserved once over. "I fully intend on people watching you in the very near future." She commented.
She eyed the wallet a moment, chewing on her lower lip before she snagged it from him and took a moment to look through it. The license was, indeed, there. But she was curious about the man himself and so, she took a moment to actually look through it. Her finger trailed along the image of him and his mother for a moment. "Down to earth and sincere enough to have a photo of himself and who I'm assuming is your mother?" She asked, arching a brow in his direction. "Cute." She smiled. She continued on a little more and came across the condom and smiled even brighter at him. "And it's not even expired yet. I'm impressed." She teased him before she flipped the wallet closed and pressed it back against his chest before handing him the keys. "I'll complete the background check later. At a cursory glance you seem okay." She winked, unable to help herself in the moment.
"Bigger than me? I think that's an understatement, Love. You're a tree that I fully intend to climb later." She said with a shrug of her shoulder. She'd never ever been shy in her life and if that wasn't apparent to him yet, she was pretty sure he was a lost cause. "A mustang boy." She said, raking her fingers through her hair a moment. "Are we talking classic mustang here orrrrr....?" She eyed him a moment, wondering what he'd say to that. She settled herself back in the seat for the time being and enjoyed the ride, not really entirely sure where it was that they were headed, but knowing well enough that was all a part of the charm in the moment.
"Nope. No more classes for the day. I wasn't joking when I said you have the full 24 hours, you know?" She asked him. "Tomorrow's Saturday and you're on the clock now, Mister." An amusing image crossed Mikki's mind of him being right in the middle of doing something with her when his time came up. She'd casually gather her belongings and slip out the door after informing him that the clock had run out. She couldn't even begin to imagine what his response to that would be or what he would do in the moment, but she was oddly looking forward to it. It was, after all, all about keeping him interested in their little game.

Clayton chuckled as she called his swagger sexy, feeling a light heat in his cheeks knowing if anyone were to look closely they’d notice he was a shade pinker than he had been a moment before. The women his mom worked with and were friends with had used to be amused making Wendy’s son blush because he would blush so easily. They’d helped him by making it harder to cause his blush but it still happened now and then when he wasn’t expecting the compliment or the kind of compliment aimed at him like now. It wasn’t a full flush though and for that he was thankful as he gave his amused smirk, ”Glad I make it work then if it’s to my advantage.” he said and felt that the comment about people watching could go unanswered since he’d already said she could whenever she wanted.
Waiting on her to decide whether she wanted to peek through his wallet or not he wiggled it at her a moment before it slipped from his fingers as she snagged it. Watching as she looked through what he had in there he wasn’t ashamed of the picture in there of himself and his mother. He was proud of it because his mother was a beautiful woman and he was proud of being her son. Hearing her comment he nodded to the question in her voice, ”That is in fact my mother, her name’s Wendy and we took that photo right before I moved out here.” he explained feeling the heat back in his cheeks at the comment of cute. Again just a shade so not really noticeable. When her smile brightened at the condom he chuckled and shook his head to her comment about it not being expired. ”No point carrying expired ones less you want to go risking it. I’m not that daring just yet.” he said meaning he wasn’t looking to get a girl pregnant at this point in his life. He was young still and while he knew it could happen he took precautions to prevent it.
Tucking his wallet back into his pocket chuckled again shaking his head at her, ”If you’re looking for a record you’ll be bored reading my report, only thing on there would possibly being busted for alcohol underage but never charged or anything from it since it was a friend’s mom who was handing it out so…” he said leaving it hanging with just a shrug as a finish to that sentence since there really wasn’t more to be said. He couldn’t help but be amused at being called a tree she would climb, it wasn’t a common comment to get from anyone, ”Climbing is encouraged with tree.” he quipped then mentally kicked himself for it because even to his own ears it sounded dumb. Focusing on driving he nodded to the question glancing over at her with a grin before his eyes returned to the road once again. ”69 mustang fastback. It’s got some quirks under the hood at the moment but I’m saving up to get the needed parts so it will run smooth again.”
The focus on her voice as she spoke while he drove had him realizing how smooth and melodic her voice actually was. It was an enjoyable sound and he wondered what other sounds he’d be hearing from her as the night progressed. ”24 hours to do whatever I please then you turn into a pumpkin again or something?” he joked with a grin as he pulled into the parking lot of the diner down the road from the campus figuring the food was damned good and it wasn’t far from campus or his apartment so they could get a bite then get some exercise to work off what they’d eaten. ”Gotta fuel up for what’s coming.” he said as he parked the car and turned to look at her smirk now twisting his lips once again. ”Hope you’re not one of those women who doesn’t eat because you think it impresses guys, because I like a woman with an appetite.” he said honestly not understanding why some women felt that eating in front of a guy was a turn off or something.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry.Mikki could have sworn that she had just seen him actually blush to a degree, but she couldn't be completely sure. It had come and gone so quickly that she couldn't genuinely be sure she had seen it to begin with, but if he had indeed blushed, that added a whole new dimension to the man. He was attractive and confident and yet somehow humble enough when it came to his recieving compliments the likes of which she had just given him. Interesting. Somehow, the man just kept getting more and more attractive to her the more that she learned about him. And the fact of the matter was that she didn't know a whole hell of a lot about him. It only stood to reason that she'd really wind up liking him by the time their 24 hours were over and finished with. At least she genuinely hoped that was the case.
She smiled at the image in her hands of Clayton and his mother. She carried a very similar photo herself. Though her parents had adopted her, it didn't mean that she loved them any less. She had a picture of both of her foster parents and her that had been taken professionally during the last holiday season that she had spent in Los Angeles. She loved the photo. "You're not the only one who carries around a momento like that." She admitted to him. She pulled her wallet out a moment later and opened it up, flashing the image of two smiling african american people and her positioned in between the pair of them. "My mother and father. Adoptive, of course." She conceded. "But no less my parents than your mother is." And really, the way she had been brought up probably went a long way towards explaining why the hell she was the way she was. Quirky... a free spirit to say the least. If you had the opportunity to meet the photographer and jazz musician parents she had, it'd be easy enough to understand.
"Yeah. I might be a risk taker, but not when it comes to that kind of thing. But darling... I was implying that you don't get laid enough." She winked at him. She was entirely teasing of course. At the very least, a man who looked as good as he did had to get a number of propositions at the very least. But on the subject of children, Mikki knew well enough that she wanted to be a mother some day. But she was still very young. And while she did want a child of her own flesh and blood, at the same time, she wanted to give back to a community that had allowed her to blossom into the woman that she was. Meaning that she also wanted to adopt. Lord. She needed to stop venturing down this avenue of thought for the time being. Children were not a topic either of them needed to be discussing right now.
"Ah, so rather than being a straight up criminal, you're just a rebel with a cause, hmm?" She asked, smiling at him. "A bad boy disguised as a good boy?" She was still smiling at him. Of course, that could have entirely been opposite of what he was, but from what she had seen so far, he definitely had a certain roguish charm to him so to speak. He was the good boy, going to school and doing his best to make it through well enough, but at the same time, he was willing to go out on a limb every once in a while, just as he had done with her. He'd gone out on a limb and taken a chance and now... well... now things were about to get really interesting for the pair of them, she suspected.
Again, Mikki didn't know a whole lot about cars, but classic cars... Well... they were classic cars after all. "Nice. We'll have to christen it when all is said and done." She said, looking over at him. Her meaning was more than clear in her eyes alone, but add in the devious little smile she gave and it was beyond apparent. "You'd better let me know when you do get it running again, Love."
"Or something..." She said in regards to the pumpkin comment. She laughed when he asked if she was one of those girls who was afraid of eating. "Lord no. I eat and I eat well. No woman should feel self conscious about the idea of simply eating in front of another person. We all need to eat to live. Any girl who tries to pretend otherwise is just idiotic." She smirked. She opened the car door and got out of it, heading around the front of the car and off towards the front of the building. 'You coming man-tree? Don't make me eat all on my lonesome."

Clayton wouldn’t actively admit to blushing, he had to draw the line somewhere to protect his masculinity. Sure he did blush and if it happened he wouldn’t deny it but if ever asked when the person didn’t honestly know if it happened or not he’d say no. It wasn’t bad to blush no but guy’s who blushed at compliments tended to get ripped apart by other guys and jokes that would never end. He’d learned that in the boy’s locker room in junior high. Lesson learned and he would never forget it thanks to those guys and the fact that graduation day they were still calling him “Mr. Blusherton” when congratulating him even though by then it had become something even he could laugh at and just a nickname. He’d learned from them and the women his mother worked with to just let stuff roll off his back. It was a good lesson and one that hadn’t hurt to learn for the most part. Made him a stronger man he thought since it took more to ruffle his feathers and he could keep a level head, which would also come in handy for his job since the “other side” attacking not only his client but himself would be something he’d come face to face with eventually.
Smiling as she mentioned him not being the only one to carry around something like that in his wallet he nodded. ”Dying breed those of us who care enough to though…Ask five kids on campus some day, strangers or friends, and you’ll find maybe 1 or 2 that have pictures of family. Fifty years ago? Probably more like 4.” he said with a shrug knowing it was true. Kids connected to their parents for more than the money to back them up in school and things or to give advice at the kids convenience were rare. It was almost sad that less families had good relationships these days because he knew he respected his own mother and loved her, they weren’t ever the kind of family to fight and he never spoke to her how he heard other kids speak to their parents…she’d shove a bar of soap in his mouth or probably down his throat if it was as rude as kids could get. Looking at the picture she showed him he smiled and shook his head a little, ”Parent’s aren’t something you get from blood and birth, they’re who love you and are there for you all of your life. Looking at that picture I don’t notice differences just that you’re all happy to be there with each other and that you’re clearly a family.” he said honestly since she’d felt the need to point out that they were no less her parents than his own mother.
Lifting an eyebrow at her comment he chuckled and shook his head at that logic, ”If I didn’t get laid enough it would be expired. Fact that it’s not even close to expired means it wasn’t put there a long time ago.” he countered and gave himself a mental reprimand for somehow finding a debate point in a joking comment. He needed to stop bringing class outside of the classroom with him like that. Not a lawyer yet he shouldn’t be looking for the argument or the way to settle a dispute his way in things that were every day just yet. He hoped to never get so wrapped in his carrier that that happened anyway since he wanted to be good at what he did but not living, breathing, and talking law all the time. No good came from losing touch with reality that way. He wanted to have a happy life with a wife and kid(s?) some day, a family of his own to be there with and love. That day was in the future though and right now he had a woman who was beautiful and his to do whatever he wanted with for 24 hours. A little bedroom type practice for that later in life dream wouldn’t be a bad thing he didn’t think since it was pretty clear that’s what she was offering.
He chuckled at her comment about him being a “rebel with a cause” and shook his head a little in amusement at that and the part about him being a bad boy disguised as good. ”You could say that and not be totally wrong?” he said and shrugged a moment later. ”Straight up it’s more like I’m a good boy who has his bad moments that keep life interesting but not in a way that risks my future since jail is very far from the plan.” he said honestly not caring that he was a little squishing the “mysterious bad boy” vibe there with that. Honesty over reputation seemed a fair trade in some ways since expecting him to be the ‘bad boy’ would only lead to learning he wasn’t a true bad boy which meant partial lies. Lies got sticky and caused problems.
He nodded in agreement with a smile as she mentioned christening his car when it was done, it didn’t sound like a bad idea at all to him. He knew what she meant and he’d be taking her up on that offer he was sure of it. ”You’ll be the first to know when it’s fixed up and ready to be christened.” he said seriously but with a light playfulness to his tone that showed he would enjoy that very much most likely. The “or something” earned another chuckle from him and he was relieved to hear she was one of the few and sexy that would actually eat. ”Could you please tell the rest of the women on this planet that? They didn’t get that memo I swear.” he said with a chuckle as he pulled the keys out and climbed free of the car tucking them into his pocket since he’d be driving again when they left. ”I’m coming, and I’m paying don’t argue.” he said figuring he’d put a stop to that argument before it even came time for it. Independent women were sexy but he could pay for a meal when he was the one calling the shots.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry. She nodded when he said that the pair of them were a part of a dying breed. Mikki knew just how lucky she had been to wind up with a mother and father who cared about her as much as they did. They had raised her to be quite the vibrant individual, that was for damned sure. But with the wealth of things she had seen from the Los Angeles Jazz and Blues community, combined with the number of things she had seen with her mother when she had been to Paris and Milan in the modeling world... Well... things got pretty interesting for a teenage girl who was subjected to those kind of environments. Not to say that her parents hadn't done everything in their power to ensure that she didn't get herself into any crazy trouble. They were just very free spirited and trusted her enough to make the right decisions in life because they had raised her right. And they really and truly had. Mikki loved her parents for all of the opportunities that they had opened her up to. If it weren't for them, she likely never would have pursued her passions in writing.
Mikki had to melt just a little bit at what he said about her parents. She had to admit that she was a wee bit defensive of them. And why the hell wouldn't she be, given the way that a lot of people tended to react and respond to them when they saw them for the first time. It was human nature to say something asinine when they confronted something atypical, it seemed. But apparently this man had a little lesson in schooling himself where diversity was concerned and maybe, just maybe, she wanted to give him as much of a bear hug as she could manage in the moment because of it. But she settled for looking him over with eyes that said it all right then and there. That was easily one of the most attractive things he'd said so far and she certainly appreciated it.
She arched a brow at him when he said that, had the condom been expired, it would have meant that he hadn't been laid in a while. She tilted her head to the side a moment and narrowed her eyes at him. "So does that mean you're a manwhore instead?" She asked, arching a brow at him. Oh lord, getting into a debate like this with a law student was going to land her in hot water and she knew it damned well. She had to wonder just how argumentative he was outside of the classroom, but rather than being deterred by that thought, she had a wealth of opinions and ideas as to how she was going to wind up steering him clear of an argument in the future. And if she had anything to say about it, there would be a future. Even if they wound up being fuck buddies or just friends, there would be a future. She liked him and that was all there was to it. Whether or not he wanted anything more to come of it would be yet to be seen. But for now, this... this was comfortable. A flirty sort of easy friendship between the pair of them that was definitely working.
"I said rebel with a cause, Love. Not jailtime waiting to happen." She said smirking at him. "There's different degrees of bad boy. My personal favorites are the ones who are willing to take risks. The ones who don't always err on the side of caution and..." She paused a moment, sliding a hand along his chest a moment, certainly not afraid to touch. "Judging by the fact that you're in school to become a lawyer, there's definitely an edge of risk with all of that, wouldn't you agree?" She asked, arching a brow at him. Every time you stepped into the courtroom, you put your reputation on the line. You had to build a name and status for yourself in that world. It was a hell of a risk to run straight out of the gates of university, but she had a feeling that he probably liked it that way. He was obviously smart. He wouldn't have been going to school for what he was going to school for if he didn't have a brain in that pretty head of his.
"Good." She shot back at him when he said she'd be the first to know about his car when it was ready to go and be christened. "Unfortunately, I don't think I have the time of day to go around calling the entire female population to make sure that they've heard that particular memo." She teased. "But I'll make sure that I spread the word to the best of my ability." She shrugged. "Besides... provided that you're active enough and care enough about yourself to keep in shape to some extent, it honestly shouldn't matter whether you eat like a mouse or a human being. I prefer to eat like a human being with a dose of garbage disposal and carry on with life running from class to class and taking part in yoga..." She paused a moment and looked him. "Which, by the way, makes me very flexible."
She scoffed a moment when he said that he was buying. "Now that's hardly fair." She almost pouted and then sighed. "But fine. Fine. I'm yours for 24 hours. You call the shots, big spender." She smirked at him.

Clayton had learned a lot about the different life-styles a person could be raised in with where he’d lived. He’d seen all sorts of families living in Vegas along with all the families just there for vacation. It was the kind of place where you just never expected what was coming next and you either learned to roll with everything or you ended up in serious trouble. His mother had raised him to accept people of all life styles, backgrounds, family types, and just…to accept people as they were and not judge. He appreciated that lesson from her because it meant that his eyes were open, more so than most to all the possibilities of life which would help in his future of being a lawyer. You had to be able to see past the things in a situation that would block a person’s view of something to find the truth or at least find the arguing point that would win you the case. You had to be able to take it all in without your own prejudices stopping you from seeing something important and his mom had raised him to have that view, it came naturally instead of being trained while in college which was another reason he thought he’d make a damned good lawyer. It also meant he made friends easier because nothing threw him off from people since he didn’t look for the negatives that would make him turn away like other’s would…and it let him see the picture of her with her parents and not see that they all looked nothing alike. What he saw was three people together who were happy and that loved each other, it didn’t seem at all set up or forced to his eye and he had a pretty good eye for those details.
Catching the way she looked him over Clay lifted an eyebrow at her and smiled at her instead of giving his normal smirk. When her own brow lifted at the condom argument he chuckled and shook his head, ”I don’t sell it so no? If I were getting money from it then I’d be a man-whore I’m more of a man-slut? Only not so bad since I don’t just sleep with anyone I come into contact with. They’ve gotta hold a level of interest for me to go there and no my interest I don’t mean have to be thin and beautiful either, that would make me a shallow man-slut and that just wouldn’t be any fun. Interest more as in being able to get me thinking like a certain woman who was the one who approached me then got me into a game of hide and seek to find her again. Let’s just say I take the chance to have a little…fun…when it comes up and there’s someone interesting to share the fun with.” he said realizing that somewhere in there he’d lost his track and gone onto a ramble. His attempts at stopping himself from getting into a debate were just making him sound like an idiot now it seemed and he needed to find a way to balance out the lawyer parts of his mind with the normal guy parts without getting into this rambling idiot territory ever again. He’d still pointed out his main point in that a woman had to be interesting enough for him to take any steps and that she’d definitely proven interesting enough with the game she’d had him playing. He thought things were working out well, maybe they’d come out of his as fwb at least since they seemed to get along pretty well so far. He could entertain the thought of maybe it would be a little something more once they got to know each other better too. He had a feeling he wouldn’t mind at all.
Chuckling as she corrected him about her calling him a rebel with a cause not jailtime waiting to happen he nodded and listened as she explained what her favorite kind of badboy was. He couldn’t deny that he seemed to fall into her favorite kind either with his choice of life style, the job he was getting into, and the rules he set himself to live by. As her hand trailed along his chest he glanced at her with a little smirk not about to say anything against her touching since he didn’t mind at all. When she pointed out the part about becoming a lawyer and the risks involved he nodded in agreement and shrugged, ”What can I say…life’s no fun without a little risk and being a lawyer means I can help other’s with their risks and take my own every time I walk into court. I also always wanted to be a superhero…not like become one of the existing ones but become my own and being a lawyer is my attempt at that without having to wear my underwear over tights or something.” he said with a chuckle. It was true, as a little boy he’d wanted to be his own superhero who could save his mom from having to work too much and keep the gross men away from her.
Hearing her talk about not having the time to go around informing the female population about the memo of “eating is good” he found himself chuckling again and he nodded with a smile at her. ”That works, just spread the word when you can and tell those people to spread the word, start a chain effect thing then eventually every woman will know hopefully.” he said with a grin and nodded as she continued to speak going into her own eating habits. ”Sounds like you’re my kind of woman then. Gotta have a healthy appetite but also a respect for your own body so that you don’t just give in to the eating and forget the healthy parts.” he said easily and lifted an eyebrow at her comment about being very flexible. ”You’ll have to show me just how flexible you are later…” he added and headed toward the diner pulling the door open for her and shaking his head when she scoffed and said it was hardly fair. He was glad when she gave in though and nodded his smirk back. ”I am calling the shots so it’s good you didn’t argue.” he said motioning for her to pick wherever she wanted to sit.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry.Mikki had to laugh a little at what he said about not selling sex. "But you're not disagreeing with the fact that you get laid often enough to otherwise be considered a manwhore?" She asked, arching a brow at him. But then she broke into a grin. "Lord help me, I'm arguing semantics with a future lawyer. That's just asking for trouble." She admitted before she let that whole argument drop before it turned into a full-blown debate. Not that she minded the banter between the pair of them in the least. She found she rather enjoyed the way they seemed to be able to go back and forth at one another. She only hoped that he could handle some of her more quirky moment... Like when she went off on one of her tangents where her writing was concerned and wound up stuck in her own little world for the most part.
Mikki knew she was complicated as hell where all of that was concerned. She wanted the happy ending with a man. She wanted the kind of marriage that her parents had, but at the same time, she wanted a man who didn't rely on her being there 24/7. She wanted a man that could deal with the fact that she was a self-made and self-sufficient woman and always would be. Even if she wound up in a stage in her life where she was ready to start popping out a million and a half children, she would be able to carry on with her work as an author for a long time coming. But that was all very well and truly far off in the future, but it certainly made it difficult when it came to meeting a man. She wanted someone who would be an equal in the relationship with her, rather than simply thinking that she was meant to be the stay at home mother, look pretty, cook and clean and that was the end of it.
But she listened to what he had to say and had to give a nod. 'All right. Fair enough. I will give you that. Lord knows I'm not an angel by any standards." She commented with a playful bit of a wink. She couldn't help herself in the moment. No, Mikki wasn't a whore by a long shot, but she certainly had a colorful life behind closed doors. But as it stood, most of her partners stemmed from long-term and committed relationships. Quite opposite to what a good majority of people seemed to believe at the heart of it all.
She smiled at him. "A superhero. Well... I think you might just be on to something there." She commented. "But it's interesting that you didn't immediately go for a firefighter or police officer or even a doctor or EMT, Captain Courageous." She commented with that teasing smile still on her lips. She was still flirting with him heavily, but he didn't seem to mind. She couldn't seem to turn the playful nature off at the moment. There was just something about him. He was genuinely fun to be around even as she was getting to know him and that was all she needed to know. "And for the record, underwear and tights are attractive. Didn't you get the memo?" She teased him.
She didn't understand the point of women being self-conscious when it came to eating. They were human and they damned well needed sustenance to get by. Men ate just the same as women did and it didn't matter how delicate they tried to be. Most of them didn't realize that a lot of men didn't want perfectly coifed and primed china dolls. They wanted a woman that they could relate to. There was a difference between alienating yourself from the male population and being feminine enough to set you apart from the men. "I fully intend on showing you just how flexible I am later." She shot over her shoulder as she headed into the restaurant. But they'd have yet to see just how long 'later' would wind up being. "I know when to pick my fights. Now's not the time, seeing as I am a woman of my word and I did tell you that these 24 hours were all yours and yours alone." She shrugged.

Clayton let an eyebrow lift at her question and shook his head, ”Not exactly…a manslut level yes though.” he said knowing they were the same thing and just joking around now. He couldn’t help but chuckle at her bringing up the arguing with a future lawyer thing mirroring his thoughts a bit by bringing that up. ”Trouble or maybe pointing out I’ll be a sucky lawyer since I think you were actually winning that argument of semantics.” he said shaking his head at himself and chuckling again. He had a feeling she could win against him if she really tried and while that wasn’t good for being a lawyer that didn’t couldn’t accept the facts. He wouldn’t always win but he would always give his best at trying too which was part of being a good lawyer. You wouldn’t win every case and you wouldn’t always be top-dog in the world, those were facts of life he’d noticed some lawyers seemed to forget but he wouldn’t ever let himself forget for that very reason. He needed to be able to accept losses to keep going and being the best he could instead of getting wrapped up in the loss and losing the whole point of trying to help people.
He enjoyed the fact that she hadn’t just brushed him off as an arguing lawyer and how she’d basically won the argument if you thought about it. She could keep his mind sharp if she were around for him to debate with sometimes since arguments weren’t “healthy” but a good debate could be so long as you didn’t let it get too serious. The playful banter was good and he enjoyed that she could do that. They’d only just really met today, the hide and seek game more of a challenge than a way to get to know anything about each other, but he already liked her and knew he wouldn’t mind her being around more if she chose to be. He could get used to her smiles and the playful banter between them if given the chance and already he hoped for that chance. Even if they ended up just being friends after this that would be fine with him but he at least wanted that if nothing else to come from this. Of course…he wouldn’t say no to anything else either though their compatibility in other departments was yet to be tested though they’d get their chance once they’d eaten.
She didn’t seem the sort who’d be too needy/clingy and he respected women who were independent but could still fit into a relationship with someone without pushing them back at every step. It was part of the unexplored territory that he looked forward to finding out about at some point because he just had a feeling she’d be that kind of woman he could be with and not have to worry about always taking care of. He would of course take care of a woman he loved but in a normal way not the constant “I need attention all the time and you need to take care of me and give me what I want always to keep me happy” way because women who were like that tended to annoy him and it was why he hadn’t been able to make anything of the last relationship he’d tried. He chuckled as she claimed not to be an angel by any standards and shrugged, ”Could be for Halloween?” he suggested playfully and smirked when she winked at him.
Shaking his head as she listed the classic “hero” jobs people went for and chuckling at being called “captain courageous” he grinned and shrugged, ”Seemed to me I could do more good this way than those? Not saying they don’t save or protect people like hero’s do but this way I get to fight for them not just rescue. Every new case is a battle and I get a verbal sword to fight with.” he said as his way of explaining his choice. He didn’t just want to always be the one coming to the rescue, he enjoyed being the one to fight to win for them and protect them, the chance to “battle” in court and be seen as a more subtle hero maybe. His face shifting into a mock of surprise as she said underwear and tights were attractive he planted a hand over his face in an over-dramatic way and shook his head, ”Oh how could I miss that memo?! Now I’ve gotta go shopping and change my entire wardrobe.” he said attempting to keep a straight face but ending up laughing and shaking his head a little at himself. ”Is it because they show off everything without being a literal peep show?” he asked his tone playfully curious.
He could understand women wanting to stay in shape because men had that same want but what he didn’t understand was why they thought you had to be skin and bones to be attractive or how they thought starving themselves was a sign of beauty. He didn’t find it attractive when I women couldn’t even respect her own body enough to enjoy the curves gifted to them or take care of it so they were healthy and he wouldn’t be afraid of breaking them if he accidentally poked them or something. He could admit to being glad Mikki wasn’t that type of woman and respected her more for accepting her own body and respecting it. The smirk came back as she said she intended to show him how flexible she could be which was something he would not argue against in the slightest. Following her in he chuckled and nodded, ”Verbal contract right there, I’d have grounds for an argument if you were going to argue. I’ll be nice and let you pick where we sit though?” he said playfully since he knew that you chose your own seat in the diner he’d brought them to.

She look like dis and I'm not even sorry. She had to give a small laugh at him stating that he wasn't quite manwhore level, but he was on par with being a manslut. She had to admit that her own way of living was quite questionable to some of the more conservative people in the world, but she was quite pleased to find out that the man in front of her wasn't exactly in that category. That would have put a slight damper on an otherwise fantastic beginning to their evening. Mikki liked having fun - not in the irresponsible sense - but she liked to enjoy herself. There was no denying that fact and she sincerely doubted that anyone else out there would deny the fact. She was just a different breed of woman, comfortable and confident in herself, but not so much to the point that it was irritating. She'd been raised with a healthy dose of reality all of her life.
"Mmm... maybe it's just the effect I have on you. I hardly think you'll be a sucky lawyer, but there has to be someone out there who'll be able to keep you on your toes all the time." She pointed out. "If nothing else, I'll be good for a challenge. I do so love challenges." She winked at him, unable to help herself. After all, this entire thing had started off with a challenge issued between the pair of them. And now that he'd won and found her, it was her turn to live up to her end of the bargain just as she said she would. She knew that it wasn't going to be any kind of a hardship on her part. The man in question was definitely attractive and, so far, had been fun to be around. That was all she needed to know for a good time.
She arched a brow and tapped a finger to her chin when he said that she could be an angel for Halloween. "You planning on sticking around and finding out just what my Halloween costume this year will look like, then?" She asked with a cheeky little smile on her face. Because she was definitely going to pull off the angel thing. Maybe not quite in the context that he would be expecting it, but she'd do it and she'd make it look damned good. She would have to thank him later for finally giving her her costume idea for the year. Of course, she had a feeling that she'd be thanking him in all the right ways if she managed to get him to come to the Halloween party that she'd be throwing in her home this year... She looked at him speculatively for a moment and then smiled. "What're you going to be this year for Halloween? And don't tell me you don't have a costume because you have to have a costume. Especially considering you're going to be coming to the party I'm throwing this year." She said bluntly. No asking. She was telling him he was going to be there.
She had to smile at what he said about why he had chosen to be a lawyer specifically. "Well, that's quite noble. I think Prince Charming would suit you quite nice for Halloween. Maybe I'll set myself up as Cinderella instead... Less the whole turning into a pumpkin thing at midnight." She commented. But then she looked at him seriously. "But it's nice to see that there are people out there who choose a profession still for something other than primarily money. The fact that you genuinely want to help people says an awful lot about your character." She insisted. "Not to mention, it earns you brownie points."
She laughed a little and had to cover her mouth to keep from snorting at the mental image of the man in front of her in tights with his underwear over top of them. "Can't we just outfit you in one of the uniforms that keep appearing in all of the Marvel movies? They're less 'tightsy' and more 'badassy'." She shrugged a shoulder. "And for the record, I like a little mystery. And I think your pants..." She eyed him up and down a moment and grinned. "Look perfect on you."
She smiled a moment when he said that she could pick their seating. "Good." She said, strolling right over to a booth in the far corner of the restaurant. And with little ceremony, she pushed on his chest until he fell back on the booth seat and then promptly placed herself right on his lap. "You did say that I could pick the seating and I want to sit here." She commented, that cheeky smile still on her face. She couldn't help it sometimes. When it suited her, she took what people said very liberally and twisted words to her own needs. And right now, she genuinely wanted to get a little bit closer to a man that, for the moment, seemed too damned good ot be true. "Don't worry. If you can't manage... I'll feed you."
