IF FALLING FOR YOU IS CRAZY, THEN I'M GOING OUT OF MY MIND everything was planned out in her head and it was an entire weekend for just the two of them. they had been married for only a few weeks, maybe three months all together, but cassie knew that she was head over heels for her husband. he was hero, her rock, the father to the most adorable little girl that cassie had legally adopted as hers. she felt like she was apart of a family again and though her immediate family was not on board with her decision to marry someone as a favor, cassie did not really care. for once in her life, she was listening to her own heart and she followed it to this point and things had turned out well or better than expected. this small weekend away was supposed to be just about the two of them and so far, that was exactly what it had been. they just drove only a few hours away to find themselves in a small bed and breakfast in the middle of no where. she had not actually booked this at all but asked a fellow co-worker too because cassie was horrible for set plans. she had already been ten minutes late to check in and they were making their way up to their room after having been in the car for almost five hours. ”this place is…interesting..” [/b] she muttered as they walked up the steps as the house was old and had no elevator. this was meant to be something like a honeymoon for the two of them as they were not too physical with one another. cassie and nate had finally started to warm up to one another, sleeping in the same bed, kissing each other in the morning and when she went to work. cassie had always kissed sarah on the head and hugged her, she talked to the little girl all the time and constantly had her in her arms. it was a little weird not having the little girl but her good friend, summer, agreed to watch her and cassie knew that sarah would be spoiled under her friend’s watch. after feeling as though they had climbed a mountain, cassie dropped her bags on the ground as they approached the room and began to search her pocket for the key. it was not even a key card but an actual old fashioned key that she had to jiggle to get into the lock and finally gave the door a small kick which seemed to be the trick to get the door fully open. gasping as she entered the room, her head tilted to the side and she could not help but chuckle a little. she guessed that her co-worker had mentioned something about the couple because the floor was lined with rose petals and there was champagne and chocolate strawberries on the counter by the small kitchen like room. ”besides the flower wallpaper which I swear are moving…it’s not actually that bad, right?”[/b] she asked, trying to make light of the situation as best as she could. she moved over to the door and picked her bag up and proceeded to drop it to the ground and let the door shut behind them which produced a large slam. she now knew to catch the door before it shut in fear of making too much noise, or disturbing anyone else—if there was anyone else. ”think we are going to get murdered in the flower room tonight?”[/b] she asked with a joking tone while pulling her shoes off her feet and kicking them over to her bag. this was the moment that she had been waiting for, wanting to make it special and delicate and though the décor of the room was not at all tasteful, the moment was still here. reaching for his hand, she brushed her thumb over the back of his hand and gave it a tug to pull him closer to her. he was a tall male, physically fit while she was kind of a petite thing but she had the legs to give her the height that was needed to reach at least to his shoulder. standing up, her arms wrapped around his neck and her lips found in his instant. she felt more relieved to be here with him than by herself or with anyone else. ”as corny as this is…and how..floral it is, but happy three months pudding”[/b] she whispered before catching his lips again. it started off slow, smooth and easy to pull away from as it was almost chasitied but as the moments progressed by, the kiss was slowly getting more heated. this was what she wanted to come here for, wanting to be out of the town where nothing was sacred and she felt strange doing anything like this with the baby in the house though sarah was too young to even know what was going on. they may have just arrived but it was the evening time and they could always work up an appetite. cassie was unsure why she was rationalizing this as she was not the kind of girl to be logical and over think things, so why was she now? maybe she was just afraid that she was messing this up, maybe taking him away for the weekend was a stupid idea…but his lips tasted so good. the kiss grew in intensity and she felt her body press into his, rising onto her toes to get a better leverage. her hand ran down to run down his side, taking the hem of his shirt and playing with the edge of it. she reluctantly pulled back, needing some kind of air in order to catch her breath as the kiss had knocked the wind out of her for a moment. the fabric was tugged and she took a step back, beckoning him over to her once more while her steps were bringing her closer and closer to the bed. Nate had to admit... he was curious. Very curious. And maybe a little bit apprehensive about the fact that he was leaving his daughter behind while he was off with Cassie for the weekend, but he supposed that it was something he was going to have to get used to. Before, when he'd deployed, he'd never had to worry about anyone back home worrying about him or missing him outside of his mother or his brother, but he knew that they'd been through it a thousand times before. Now, he had a wife and a daughter to worry about at home. He already had a thousand reservations flying through his mind. When he left and came back home, would his little girl even remember him? Would Cassie resent him? It was a lot to worry about and think about, especially when he and Cassie were really starting to warm up to one another.
The bed and breakfast they were at was... interesting, to say the least. But honestly, he was probably a hell of a lot more comfortable there than he would have been at a five star hotel, so he was thankful for the modest and... perhaps outdated, bed and breakfast. He laughed at Cassie's question about the bed and breakfast not being that bad. She'd had this whole weekend planned out and he wasn't about to burst her bubble. He wasn't the kind of man to complain about anything of this calibre. Especially not given some of places in the world where he'd had to make due. This was a palace when compared to some of them. "There's nothin' wrong with it." He assured her. And there wasn't. Not when she'd gone through so much trouble and was actually fretting over it all.
"Maybe murdered isn't the right word." He commented, looking around the room for a moment. "The house might devour us... But definitely not murdered." He grinned at her, letting her know that he was entirely joking with her. "Besides... what fool would be stupid enough to try and sneak up on a sleepin' SEAL?" He asked, winking at her. There was a constant running joke between the pair of them where she somehow considered him to be a hero of sorts to her. He didn't see himself as anything anywhere near a hero to her. He was just a man doing what any other man with a set of morals and conscience would do when his woman was in need or in trouble. He protected her and took care of her. And how could he not, given everything that she had already done for him?
She reached for him and pulled him closer to her and he was all too compliant in the moment. She stretched her body out against his and he planted his hands on her waist, holding her there against him. It never ceased to amaze him that he even had the right to do this with her, but he wasn't complaining in the least. And that damned nickname she had given him.He couldn't help the fact that he'd actually warmed up to it on some level. He wasn't even sure why. Maybe it was because no one had ever looked at him quite the same way that she did. Who the hell knew? But then she was kissing him and his mind blanked of all things save for the woman in his arms. They'd been pushed into some pretty extraordinary circumstances, but somehow, things were progressing smoothly for them and he found that he definitely had feelings for this wife of his. This extraordinary wife of his...
She tugged at his shirt as she backed up towards the bed and he had a moment of surrealism. Was this real? Was this actually happening to him? he had a wife? A child. He was on a freaking honeymoon for all intents and purposes. He took a breath and swallowed hard for a moment before he obediently followed her back towards the bed, pulling the t-shirt he was wearing up and over his head and letting it hit the floor. If she wanted this to be a real honeymoon for the pair of them, he was going to be more than certain to deliver his portion of the experience...

IF FALLING FOR YOU IS CRAZY, THEN I'M GOING OUT OF MY MIND the floral wallpaper was making the room spin for her but she turned her head and focused on her handsome husband, a smile rising to her lips. she had to admit that the room was awful and that this was the worst place to get murdered at and then, her eyes met his and all she could think about was wanting him and being with him. she wanted to spill everything to him but they had a full weekend to one another, they could do anything that they wanted and without even really being in the door, cassie had moved closer to him. ”even I have to admit that the flowers…look like they could grow teeth and climb off the wallpaper and just eat people.” [/b] she muttered, looking to the flowers to make sure that they were staying still. she could swear that there were more of them than from the last time that they looked, they were germinating without even being real and she was a little freaked. a shiver ran down her spine but she ignored it, chuckling as she nodded to him with, ”or that fat cat on the step, did you see that thing?”[/b] she spoke with a chuckle. cassie was actually allergic to cats but so far her allergies were not acting up and she was going to enjoy this honeymoon to the best of her ability. she gave a light chuckle to him, shaking her head as she moved the bags out of the way and let there be a free path form the door to the beds or from the spot that they were standing to the beds—either way worked for her. ”hm…good point. I guess we are safe for another night, a flower could not take on a SEAL.”[/b], giving him a wink that followed his. her steps took her just a little closer to him and her arms wrapped around her neck, ”though I wouldn’t mind the challenge.”[/b] she whispered against his lips before pressing her lips directly to his and starting the night to remember. she felt his hands on her waist and could not help but rock her hips into his own while letting out a low groan. cassie was not a sexual girl but she did know her way around a male’s body and had no problem in showing her skills. she was not an experienced girl in bed but she was one that was said to be unforgettable for anyone that even got the chance to have her. it was almost as if everything came natural to the girl and she barely had to try before the male was moaning her name and she was screaming out his. it took a bit of foreplay to get her fully going, or usually it did but nate had a gift himself and she was ready at this moment, they had waited too long for this and too many times had they been interrupted by phone calls, their daughter crying among other things. this was their chance and before anything decided to disturb him, cassie was going to soak this moment up to the best of her ability. she grinned against his lips, slowly running her hands down the front of his body and playing with the bottom of his shirt before using it as a lead to get him to follow her which one tug and they were flush against one another again. her moan could be heard muffled by his own mouth but her hips dry rocking against his own was enough evidence to show that she was ready and willing for him to get started at anytime as the male usually made the first move and cassie finished with her own. her body fell back on the bed and she propped herself up with her elbows, her chest rising and falling with the feelings that came with being turned on and just one look from nate and cassie was removing her own shirt. she tossed the pink tanktop aside, leaving the bottoms for his own plaything to tease her with as he slowly pulled his shirt off and revealed his muscles underneath. she had seen this all before but it was never in this circumstance, it was never in these kind of moments where they were both hot and bothered and had someone to relieve the burning want. he crawled onto the bed with her and she gladly welcomed his body to over hers as her lips found his once more and her hands lingered on his arms and then slowly moved up his neck, tracing his collarbone and running down the length of his body until she found the buttons of his jeans. it was always the quiet ones that surprised in bed and nate was sure to find that cassie was not a girl that enjoyed weird things but she was not all for tradition either. her lips left his, slowly sliding her body under his and kissing down the length of his chest, her hands following suit before she found the button of his jeans. using her teeth, she popped them open and then licked around to get a grip on the zipper before pulling that down with her teeth as well. her hands did the rest as she slowly rose herself back up to his level to see the look on his face, ”surprise?”[/b] she grinned, referring to her ways in bed before catching his lips once more and reaching for the light on the side of the bed which flicked off and the room turned black only to be filled with names, moans and a room full of heated passion for the newlyweds. He had to laugh when she continued on with her concerns about the wallpaper. "I think they need all of the guests they can get just so that they have a little cash to play with in order to revamp the place for a little bit but, hey..." He tilted her chin up so that she was looking up at him. "I'm not complainin', Babe. This is nice. Probably the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me." He admitted to her. And it was the truth. He hadn't had a girlfriend in the past who had ever cared enough to bother doing something like this. Most of the time they were looking for one thing and one thing alone from him and he had generally been more than willing to provide it for them. But things had changed a hell of a lot. She had changed him a hell of a lot and he wasn't complaining in the least. This really was a nice gesture and one that he wouldn't forget.
He laughed again when she added the comment about the cat on the step. "Okay. Yeah. That cat looked like it devoured people whole." He admitted to her. That damned thing had been so huge that Nate had wondered at the sheer physics of the fact that it was actually still perched on the stairs and not rolling down them instead. The thing had been bloody huge and it hadn't really looked all that friendly at the heart of it all. He grinned at her when she said, however, that a flower could not take on a SEAL. "Man eating ninja cats might be a whole other story though." He warned her with a teasing smile. Of course, they were only making fun of their circumstances. They'd probably be able to look back on all of this in the future and laugh at it all.
She was kissing him then and he could already see a change in the woman in his arms. She wasn't shy. She wasn't afraid. She knew what she wanted and that appealed to him on a whole new level. She was sexy as hell, actually and she didn't even really have to try as far as he was concerned. The woman was beautiful on her own. And apparently, just getting her alone in a bedroom was enough grounds for her to suddenly become the sexiest woman in the god damned world too. And he was probably just a little too willing to comply with her every want and demand at the moment. She'd never have to speak the demands... he'd know. He knew he'd know because he already felt like he knew this woman on a level that he had never even comprehended before. Which was odd, given the circumstances in which they'd married under...
And it was, indeed, the quiet ones that surprised the hell out of a man in bed, just as Cassie was at the moment. He had never anticipated that his wife would be quite this feisty or into exploration, but the moment those teeth got to work on his pants, he was floored. He was absolutely floored. He was pretty sure he was gaping at her when she said 'surprise' and the grin on her face was more than enough to let him know that he was right in that fact. "Surprise is damned right. You just keep comin' out with them, don't you?" He grinned at her. And then, a moment later, the room was black and there was only one thing left to do but to show this woman his gratitude and the love that he already felt building up inside of him for her.
Some time later, Nate was laying there, pretty damned worn out from the activities that they'd been conducting for the better part of two hours. He hadn't known that this woman would wind up rocking his world quite like that. He had to sit up a little, propping himself up on one elbow to look down at her. "Where the hell were you hiding that minx personality of yours away, Darlin'?" He asked, leaning down and kissing her collarbone as he smiled against her skin. "I'm pretty damned sure that I'm officially the luckiest man in the world." He admitted to her. "And we need to find the time of day to do that a little more often." he smirked.

IF FALLING FOR YOU IS CRAZY, THEN I'M GOING OUT OF MY MIND the cat had been rather large when they were coming up the steps and cassie had almost mistaken it for a suitcase that they had missed but stepping on the feline’s flipping tail had given her the clea evidence that it was a cat and that it probably hated her. ”and never digested them or something, that thing had to have been at least twenty pounds…” [/b] and she shook her head, feeling sorry for the owner who would need a forklift to carry the cat anywhere and for the actual cat who was probably the butt of a lot of jokes in this hotel. the room was inviting, it felt warm but it was nothing that felt like home, but it felt like vacation. the wallpaper was something that that she was going to have ignore or else nightmares would begin of man eating flowers that came out of wallpaper and she would never be able to sleep or even stay in the room. ”really now, the seals never prepared you if a great big man eating, ninja cat attacked? well we are screwed cause that thing is probably looking for revenge for the bruised tail.”[/b] giving a chuckle before looking over to him to see that teasing smile that just got her heart racing, his smile was something that could sent her knees knocking together because they were rare out in public but they were so common around her. she felt like the smile was meant for the people that he cared about and though he was gruff and brooding out in the real world, in their own private sphere, he was just a regular guy who happened to know how to shoot a gun and was not afraid to. the violence never appealed to her but the knowledge that he had for it did, he was beyond sexy when he was spitting out random facts about the navy seals or telling her stories about his deployment days. the kiss that lingered between them was soft and then turned rough, it turned to lust and want for each other and that was not hard for her because she had fallen so fast for everything that nate was and it only took three months to do so. her moves in the bedroom, her skills and her slight minx like qualities were always a shock and she enjoyed watching the faces of the very few people that got to enjoy them. her mouth got to work on the pants, not even sure where the skill had been picked up from as her lips moved back up to catch his after she had finished the deed. her hands were now working the pants down to his knees and allowed him the chance to kick his off. her shirt was shed and thrown to the ground carelessly because at this moment, nate was all that she cared about. chuckling, she gave his jawline a nip and nodded, ”there’s more..”[/b] she whispered while reaching for the light and throwing the room into complete darkness. the flowers were gone, the cat was out of her mind, it was just him and her for the next two hours where they rocked the bed until they were both completely satisfied. her breathing was eradicated as they finally rolled off one another after having been rolling around with one another, pleasing and finally giving everything to one another. her body was wrapped up in the sheets, her eyes not leaving his though when her head turned to face him. she felt a light blush rush across her cheeks and quickly hid under the covers for a moment until the burning had faded away, ”it’s dormant most of the time! but it rears it’s head when it’s really needed..”[/b] she grinned before reaching over to cup his cheek. she chuckled as he continued to continue talking, ”I have to completely agree with that last statement as that was…amazing. but luckiest guy cause you are married to me? I think you hit your head against the headboard one too many times.”[/b], her lips found his once more before she slowly began to pull the covers with her as she sat up. her self esteem was still low and there was not much to change that but nate was giving her a good push toward being more confident. she chuckled slightly, shaking her head before standing up and walking over to the suitcase with the sheet still wrapped around her unclothed body. ”how about we shower and then go eat..”[/b] as the two of them had probably worked up an appetite, or at least cassie had. she let the clothes dangle from her fingers before disappearing behind the door of the bathroom and leaving it open just a crack. her shower was quick and filled with a little bit of a song and some humming before she turned the water off and stepped back, peering to see that she had forgotten something essential. tip-toeing to the door, she stuck her head out, her hair a damp wavy mess, ”do me a favor…can you pass me the towel over there?’[/b] she asked politely, slightly coming back into her more shy ways. "I should probably put a demand in with the head of Spec Ops there to include ninja death cat attacks as a portion of our regular training regiment. No one will ever know when stuff like that'll come in handy." He commented in a teasing tone. He wasn't sure why it was so easy to joke around with Cassie, but he wasn't about to complain in the least. It just seemed that everything where she was concerned was a whole hell of a lot easier for him to handle than he had once thought it would be. He was a husband now and, even if it hadn't been under the most ideal circumstances that they had been married, he was treating it like the real responsibility that it was. He wouldn't cheat on her. He actually cared about this woman. He cared about how she felt and he cared about whether or not she was happy. She had done so much for him and he was damned prepared to treat her right for that.
But it went so far beyond that. Nate had had a crush on the woman long before she'd agreed to marry him. And that sounded like such a juvenile thing for him to say, but that was exactly what it had been. It had been a damned crush. And it had been one that he hadn't been able to shake. And maybe that was why he was a little too eager to say that he was down with the idea of him marrying her. It was pathetic, really, but in the end, it seemed to be working out okay for the pair of them. At least he hoped that she was as happy as she seemed. Mind you, if she wasn't she wouldn't have gone to all of this trouble to set this little honeymoon up for the pair of them... right? Christ, he just needed to stop thinking for a few minutes and let things happen for once in his life.
He smirked when she said that it was dormant most of the time but that it reared its head when it was most needed. "And I'd definitely say that was one of those times where it was needed, Darlin'." He murmured. The woman had been dynamite and molten lava in his arms. She'd been hotter than hell and he had never ever anticipated that she would be quite like that. Had any married man ever had it better in his life? To not know that side of your wife until well after you were married to her? It was one hell of a thing indeed. Nate had always figured that he'd always have been married to his job first and foremost, but even he had to admit to the fact that he was seeing things in a new light for the first time in his life... And it was all because of this incredible, sexy, beautiful, smart and kind woman laying in bed with him.
He laughed when she said that he hit his head against the headboard too many times. "Well there's a damn good reason they call it a headboard, isn't there? And it's a damned good thing that they breed us with hard heads down there in Texas." He smirked at her, unable to help himself. "But my statement still stands. I'm one hell of a lucky guy to be married to you." He told her, shifting the mood from humorous to serious. He truly believed himself to be luckier than hell to be married to her, even if they had done things a little in reverse. It was like they were getting married and then dating. But that was fine with him. He'd never been much for following the typical rules anyhow.
And then she was getting out of the bed and pulling the bedsheet right along with her, leaving him laying there in the bed, on his back, with his arms folded behind his head, completely naked. And he didn't give a damn if the owner of the bed and breakfast would have walked right through the door and seen him there like that in all his glory at the moment. He watched her as she headed for the shower. He toyed with the idea of following her right on in to the bathroom and taking his damned time exploring the very avenue they had just walked down once again, but he decided against it for the time. There'd be time for that again in the morning... or tomorrow afternoon or... hell... whenever the hell they had the chance to in the future. For now, they needed to get some grub.
Nate busied himself exploring the room a little more while she was in the shower... all of which he did while still completely naked. He didn't see much point in getting dressed when he'd only be naked in the shower a few moments from now. And when she poked her head out the door, shyly asking for the towel, he had to smile at her, even as he reached for it and strode right on up to her and handed it to her. He pulled a quick one, leaning in to kiss her gently as he pushed the door open a little more and wrapped the towel around her shoulders. He kissed the tip of her nose once more and then smirked. "Did ya leave me any hot water?" He winked at her.

IF FALLING FOR YOU IS CRAZY, THEN I'M GOING OUT OF MY MIND this side of nate was another one that cassie had uncovered one night while laying in bed, he was a jokester. he had moments of true sarcasm and jokes and having a little offhanded words to say. a giggle escaped her lips which were covered by her hand as she shook her head, ”I think that would weed out the wimps and the soliders! a giant, ninja death cat would surely do the trick” [/b] she grinned, though cassie knew very little about being a seal. she had done some research, read interviews and saw videos of the intense and excruciatingly painful training regimes that the males had to do in order to prove themselves and she was floored that anyone would survive that—and her own husband did. she was a wife now, and the thought scared and excited her as she had always wanted to be but never thought that anyone would accept her for who she was. she was so open to anything and everything, sugar with a passive aggressive nature but she was not exactly girlfriend material, let alone wife material. she was not able to cook but she could bake like no other, her hours were wonky and her passion for her own establishment was enough to drive any male crazy but nate was the same way as she was. he was dedicated to training and being part of something bigger than himself and though their hours of work sometimes collided or caused them to slip right past one another, it was easy for them to fall back into each other’s arms when they needed it. she looked over to him after having dropped the bags and gave a raise of an eyebrow while stepping closer to him. her hand rested on his cheek as his eyes seemed distant for only a second before blinking back and coming into reality once more, ”seems you got your head in the clouds, you okay?”[/b] she asked, her thumb brushing across the smooth skin that was directly under his eye. this entire thing had been set up for a way to escape the stress of work and that small town where nothing was a secret. everyone knew everything but here, it was just the two of them which is why it was no surprise to cassie when they had fallen into bed together only moments after the door being shut. they finally had a moment to themselves and it was not going to be wasted on something as silly as a talk about a cat being programmed to kill, it was their time now. ”well the bedroom, bathroom...where ever is when they aggression comes out. little weird..”[/b] as the girl was usually so passive but get her into a bedroom and under the sheets and she would have no problem with raking her nails up and down the back of her company. she closed her eyes, laying her head onto the pillow and letting out a deep breath, satisfied, content and a little worn out. it was as though all of the pent up rage between them had just exploded into two unforgettable hours of passion and love. her eyes slid open one by one as she heard his laugh and grinned, it was a sweet and uncommon sound to hear from the male but it was like milk and honey to her. ”well good thing for that last part cause I thought you were going to need a helmet! don’t need to be giving you concussions..”[/b] she grinned before slipping out of the bed and smiling as her back was turned as cassie thought could only think that she was the lucky one and not him. she looked down at the sheet and then back at him and chuckled, ”sorry! good thing it’s not cold in here..”[/b] she grinned, moving to the bathroom and dropping the sheet just as the door was opened before slipping behind it and shutting him out. she rested her back against the door for a moment, taking in a deep breath with a smile that was not fading from her lips before stepping over to the tub and turning the shower on. her hair was damp, pushed back and wavy as it fell past her shoulders and she shivered while reaching for a towel only to remember that they were sitting on the dresser. cursing herself, she had to poke her head out and grinned when she saw him still naked, ”eager for your own shower?”[/b] she asked, jumping as the door was pushed open but returning the kiss. the feeling of the fabric touching her skin was comforting and she stepped out of the bathroom, adjusting the towel to wrap around her entire body before looking over to him, her nose wrinkled as it was kissed but she nodded, ”figured after leaving you butt naked out here, it’s the least I could do.”[/b] and she pressed her lips to his once more before giving his hip a bump, directing him to the bathroom while she hunted for something to wear. her stomach growled against her better wishes and she looked over to the bathroom door to see it closed before unwrapping the towel from her body and slipping into clothes. she rested on the bed, falling back and letting out a deep sigh. ’got to tell him..”[/b] she muttered before standing up and beginning to tidy up the bed while waiting for her husband to show himself once more. He jerked his thoughts away from the direction they'd been taking when she called him out on having had his head in the clouds and asked him if he was okay. He offered her a small smile. 'Yeah. I'm fine. Just thinking about how crazy the pair of us are." He commented. His smiled widened a bit. "But I think I like being batshit crazy where you're concerned." He admitted to her. He paused a moment and tilted his head to the side. What was the harm in telling her what was on his mind now when she was already married to him for crying out loud. "You know... As elementary school as it sounds... I had one hell of a crush on you long before you said you'd marry me." He told her, arching a brow at her as if he were daring her to refute the fact. It was true. he had had one hell of a crush on her and his twin brother had known it. Which was probably why his twin brother didn't argue with him about the marriage and how bad of an idea that it was. Sometimes Dallas knew him better than he knew himself.
He grinned at her when she said that the bathroom, bedroom and wherever was where all of her aggression came out. "I'm perfectly fine with that." He informed her. "In fact, any time you feel the need to take your aggression out, you can be more than certain that I'll be very willing to help in that particular department." He couldn't help but laugh with Cassie. Usually, he was a pretty damned serious guy and the rest of the world knew it. His brother's personality, compared to his, was a lot more different than most people gave them credit for. Not to say that they didn't have their similarities, but it all came from the way they were raised with only one another and their mother to rely on. But Nate had always been the one who had been referred to as being much more like their Daddy than his brother was. A comparison that he hated. A comparison he was driven to prove wrong as often as he could.
He arched a brow at her when she asked if he was eager for his own shower. "Eh. Not so much. Just didn't see much point in getting dressed when you already conveniently made sure that I was undressed." He smirked at her, unable to help himself. Nate didn't take too long in the shower though. He was pretty quick when it came to that. His one quirk, however, was that he had to have a hot shower. After having gone through BUD/S and dealing with what he did on a regular basis at work where he was constantly wet and cold, he refused to take a cold shower or bath outside of work. There was no sense in torturing himself even more than he'd already been tortured throughout the years.
It wasn't long before he was pulling the bathroom door open, a towel wrapped around his hips as he made his way across the room. He ran a hand through his hair, knowing that it was probably sticking up at odd angles and not really caring all that much. "I see you're all ready to go." He commented over his shoulder as he dug through the bags until he found himself something to wear. He didn't bother with modesty and dropped the towel, getting ready right then and there. Nate wasn't shy. Not by a long shot. And if Cassie hadn't realized that by now, she'd certainly learn well enough by the end of the weekend.

IF FALLING FOR YOU IS CRAZY, THEN I'M GOING OUT OF MY MIND the smile continued to grow, staying plastered on her lips even when the male was not even talking about her or even too her. his very presence just made her happy and it was a feeling that she had never really known. she enjoyed the company of others but she loved just having him, sarah and herself in the house together. they were a family, a word that cassie held dear to her own heart and that was evident with the sacrifices that she made to please her family in the end. cassie could have stayed in new york city, gotten a job in a kitchen, baked professionally in a small fish, big pond environment but when her grandmother became sick, she gave up that dream and came here and especially now, she does not regret a single second of the decision. grinning, an eyebrow raised with curiosity before speaking, ”did you just say you liked being crazy about me?” [/b], chuckling to how corny but how right the words sounded. leaning in closer as he spoke, her head tilted to the side and she reached up to cup a hand to his cheek, ”were you ever going to act on it?”[/b] she asked, knowing that if it was an elementary school like crush, it would have probably gone unnoticed by her. she was glad that they were together though, satisfied with her choices in life even if they were not what people expected of her. she leaned over, pressing her lips to his for just a moment before pulling back from the gentle kiss and rolling out of the sheets of the bed. covering her body, she moved to the bathroom in order to freshen up and once she was finished, he could go in. the hot water rushed over her skin, adding to her own heated temperature as a result of the romp in the sheets but she did not mind in the slightest and was stepping out of the shower only minutes later. ”it wasn’t hard to get you undressed…I’ll be sure to make it move convient, more often..”[/b] she grinned, having enjoyed the evening delight a little more than she would like to admit. she was physically starved at that point and they were married, it was a natural part of marriage and it came with the territory of love. she waited, dressing herself quickly and letting her hair air dry as she waited for him to emerge from the bathroom and back into her arms. she already missed him and he was only away from her, separated by a single piece of wood that could easily be opened. laying back on the bed, she gave a small sigh, staring at the rose covered ceiling and cringing. there were a ton of flowers all over the room, giving it a very homey sense or it was meant to but all cassie felt was that they ere just going to be murdered in this room. sitting up to the sound of the doorknob turning, she gave a nod while looking down at her already clothed body, ”well I worked up an appetite!”[/b] she grinned, slowly sitting up and chuckled as he dropped his towel. she took a simple look, not something that hadn’t already been seen, before looking away and moving to occupy her hands and her mind. the sheets were thrown back onto the bed and she began to fold them, making them into small squares before adjusting the comforter and then turning to look at him as he finished getting dressed. her steps allowed her to reach him in a second, taking his hand in her own and rubbing the back of it with her thumb, ”hey nate..”[/b] she mumbled, suddenly feeling very self conscious about her appearance and the place that she was going to say the words, ”since you told me about having a crush on me in the past, I figure I should give up my confession as well…”[/b] and though she had two, since the crush was mutual, this was more important. her other hand lightly gripped at the sleeve of his shirt, tugging on it in order to get the leverage to reach his lips. she pressed her lips against his quickly and then said the words, ”I love you…”[/b] and though she did not have to hear the words back, she could feel her heart racing to the thought of the words being repeated. they were nice to hear but if he was not ready to say them back, cassie did not really want to hear them in a false way. she wanted the reply to be real because this was the first time that she had said them to a guy and it was hard enough just getting them out. dropping his hand, she readjusted her shirt and tugged on the loops of her jeans to pull them higher before walking toward the door. looking over her shoulder to him, she gave a grin before twisting the knob and opening it, ”hey, ready to go eat? you know we got to pass by the giant cat, bet it hasn’t moved from it’s spot on the step.”[/b] speaking with a smile to her tone as she walked out the door, waiting for him at the top of the steps. she brushed a hand through her hair and let out a deep breath feeling like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, and it had, it really had. He looked at her a moment when she called him out on what he had just said. "Yeah... I guess I kinda did, didn't I?" He smirked at her. He was still getting used to the idea of having two people that depended on him in a lot of ways. Though Cassie was a strong woman, very capable and incredibly smart, she did still depend on him from time to time and he knew it damned well. He was a part of the income in their family. He was a part of their support for Sarah and he was the one who genuinely cared about her. He wasn't sure if Cassie realized it, but he'd do anything in his power just to make sure she was happy. And it went way beyond the concept of her having done something so selfless for him and his daughter that it may have very well elevated her to sainthood in the eyes of every Pope who ever existed. He cared about her happiness. He wanted her to be happy and wanted to provide an environment and home for her in which she could be happy.
He smiled sheepishly when she asked him if he ever would have acted on the schoolboy crush he'd had on her. He shrugged a shoulder. "I can face down bullets, bombs and jump out of helicopters for a living but throw a beautiful woman in front of me and apparently I'm pretty set to trip over my own feet." He commented with a shrug. "Honestly... I'm not sure... but if it woulda gotten bad enough, I'm pretty sure my brother woulda threatened to tell you in the most embarrassin' way possible in order to... persuade me." He commented with a roll of his eyes. "He's nine minutes older than me and acts like it gives him all the authority in the world." He commented. But it was more than evident that the brothers were close and always would be.
Nate had to grin when she said that it hadn't been hard to get him undressed. He supposed that that was a good point. "Don't see the point in resistin' my wife in that department." He shrugged a shoulder. "Besides... I have to say that I was quite pleasantly surprised by what happened after our clothes were removed, thank you very much." He commented. She had definitely surprised him. But he had a feeling that he was going to be surprised several times throughout his lifetime where this woman was concerned. She was incredible and he knew he was so damned lucky to have wound up with her.
He paused a moment when she called his name and turned towards her. There was something in her tone that suggested that she was being quite serious in the moment. She tugged him down more to her level to kiss him quickly... and the words that flowed out of her mouth next damned near floored him. She loved him. He paused a moment, searching her eyes for any sign of uncertainty in the fact that she actually loved him. But the more he watched her and realized she was dead serious, the more the grin on his face grew. But he was a moment too late in his reaction time as she made her way towards the door and slipped out after a comment about the cat. Nate strode out of the room behind her and snagged her around the waist, spinning with her until her back was to the wall and his body was pressed against hers. He kissed her - slow and sweet. And when he finally pulled up for air again, he looked her dead in the eyes, the smile still lingering there though his expression was deadly serious. "Cassie Xavier... I love you too, woman. And even if we're a little backwards in the way we're doin' things... I swear to you that I'll make sure you know I love you from now, every day until we die."

[/b], she shook her head, leaning up and pressing a kiss to his nose, ”you just keep getting cuter! and well nine minutes is a lot, nearly 10 minutes…all the time in the world for some people!”[/b], giving his nose a tap on the spot where she had just laid her lips upon. she felt her face heat up, her cheeks burning a red rose color as she looked away while still pulling her shirt on over her body and smoothing out her half dried hair which was starting to frizz with the humidity in the room from both their session and the steam from both showers that had recently been taken. ”..told you that..minx only appears when it’s needed”[/b], she grinned with a half sheepish smile while the other half was completely flirtatious. she had never really expected nate to see that side of her but in the heat of the moment, it came too when she had needed it the most. the added tension that lied between the two of them was undeniable even before this agreement of marriage, but it had exploded during the earlier session of love making where they finally consummated their marriage. she could feel the same amount of tension building in her chest but this was in the form of words, wanting to say something loving to him but not knowing how he would even take it because they had not been married for that long, they had not known each other for that long. it was funny to think of how fast the girl fell, the cautious one that she was with most things in life but how easy going she was, so fast and hard that her head was spinning as her lips found his. his kisses left butterflies on her lips, tingling with passion for one another but she said the words and half regretted it by the look on his face. the look of pure shock had her brows furrowing before deciding that the subject needed to be changed, they needed to get out of the hotel room, away from temptation and get some food into their system. it was the new goal in her mind, not waiting for the words back as she moved out of the hotel room and ran a hand through her hair. a cloud of doubt began to cover her usual laid back personality as she turned around to face him, her mouth opening but not able to get a word in before his lips found hers and she did not hesitate to let her lips move with his but allow him to take charge. with her body pinned between a wall and a hard body, cassie did not have much control and she did not mind losing it to someone like nate. a smile came to her lips in this moment of passion and her eyes slowly began to open one by one as he gave the command with his action to allow her to come up for air. taking in a deep breath that was shaky as she exhaled as her heart was racing and her breathing had quickened just a little when she was taken by surprise. her smile was present though as she heard the three words repeated back and she leaned in to give him another kiss, ”you are showing it enough every day. keep doing what you are doing and I will be the happiest girl in the world as long as you stay as you are.”[/b] she whispered, but there was no denying that cassie was happy because the smile on her face had yet to be wiped away. ”and I don’t care if we did everything backwards because we are backwards ourselves and normal is overrated.”[/b] she said with a wink before giving him another peck on the lips, quick and sweet, before whispering against them, ”now let’s go eat.”[/b], wiggling out of his grip with a bit of effort on her part as nathan was a strong male and it did not matter how gentle he was holding her. offering her hand out to him, she pointed to the steps, ”if I get eaten by this cat…you should know that I had the best time tonight.”[/b] she grinned, giving his hand a tug and leading him toward the steps where the over sized cat laid, fat hanging off the edge of the steps, in wait. Nate was well aware of just how close Cassie and Sarah were already becoming and he had to wonder just how much closer the two would wind up being once he deployed for a few months. He'd likely come back home and his daughter wouldn't even remember his face. But he'd known that when he had first met his daughter to begin with. Things weren't going to be easy on him, but he wanted to make things as easy as possible on his little girl. At least with Cassie in the picture and in their lives, she'd have something constant to hold on to. A familiar face to help guide her along as she grew older. And hopefully, some day, she'd understand well enough why her Daddy had to keep on leaving home.
He laughed a little bit at what she said about him facing everything else down, but a girl scared him. "Yeah, I guess that's kinda the jist of it, isn't it?" He asked her, glancing over his shoulder at her with a slight shrug. He smirked a bit when she said that nine minutes was all the time in the world for some people. "Sure seems like it from his perspective." He commented, but it was more than clear that he didn't really mind. It was all a part of the dynamic that the brothers had going for them. Dallas had, far and wide, always been more the serious one of the pair of them. Nate had always been the smartass and the pranker. His brother had always been the one at his side bailing him out of trouble when he went in too deep. It was the number one reason that Dallas had made a damned good officer candidate through BUD/S.
Nate wasn't going to argue with the women. He just hoped to hell that the little minx in her played a part in their bedroom play quite often in the future. It was unexpected and thrilling as hell to know that she had that side of her to begin with. Cassie seemed like a whole ball of unexpected possibilities. She kept on surprising the hell out of him and he loved every moment of it. But a moment later, she was bolting from the room. He realized a moment too late that the look on his face was probably pretty damned disconcerting at the moment. But she was already rushing from the room. Which only left him with the option of catching up to her and setting her straight in regards to his reaction.
Nate was relieved when she saw the truth in his eyes and his actions. He was new to all of this. This wasn't something he'd ever done before. He'd never even come close to telling another woman that he loved her. It was startling and frightening all at the same time and yet... it was exhilarating. He was glad that they were here for the weekend, but something told him that a weekend would never be enough for the pair of them. "I think backwards is an understatement." He said, giving her a crooked smile. He couldn't deny the fact that the pair of them were definitely unique and yet somehow complimented each other perfectly. He wasn't sure how it worked. All he needed to know was that it was working. But the months ahead would see how things wound up going for sure. He knew the rates of divorce among men like him. He spent months away from home. It was daunting to think about how he could possibly keep her happy through all of that and yet, at the same time, he was up to the challenge. All for her.
"Noted. But if you get eaten by the cat, I'll have you know that I'll avenge you." He said, giving her a serious looking nod that was ruined a moment later when he broke into a grin. God. When was the last time he'd ever laughed and smiled this much with a woman at his side like this?

[/b] and a little confusing but that was a given. they were still learning so much about one another from their skills to their faults and cassie was relishing in each moment. after the three words parted from her lips, she was out of the room in a hurry, not sure if she wanted to hear the words back. cassie had never had them said to her, let alone actually muttering them out to anyone as well. he was something special though, a hero in her eyes and a constant in her life and there was no denying that she would have ended up falling for him but even cassie did not expect it to happen this fast. the words had to be true when coming from him as they held no false meaning when she spoke them, there was no ill intentions when she had agreed to marry him and knew that somewhere down the road that this would occur but this was soon, maybe too soon. brushing a hand through her hair nervously, cassie was drowning out the doubt that came with the words until she was pressed into the wall by his own hands, her body wiggling against his to the minor restraining but she soon relaxed. she searched his eyes, darting back and forth in looking from one to the other, and a grin spread across her lips as she was saw the truth. it was shocking at the beginning but cassie soon realized that they were actually in a marriage that consisted of love and that pleased her, and relieved her. she had this underlying fear that they would remain nothing but friends throughout this marriage, ones that remained loyal to each other but never expressed or really interacted as this had all begun with the need to keep a stable being in his daughter’s life but now it was more than that. ”okay, very backwards! but we make it work…don’t we?”[/b], her insecurity needing that reassurance from him as she always had that cloud of doubt but it was not for the marriage, it was just about life. she was never confident in her skin, unsure of who she was or she wanted to be but never having the courage to actually change who she was. ”if I get eaten by that cat, it will want dessert...or the main course in our case..”[/b] as cassie was not very large and would be thought of as an appetizer. making her point known, she leaned in close and chomped her teeth at him, winking before taking his hand and making their way down the steps. the cat quickly turned its head, ears lying flat and cassie faltered in her steps, tilting her head to the side before sidestepping in order to avoid the cat and took very little notice that her speed had increased when descending down the steps that surrounded the feline. ”geez that thing is huge..”[/b] she said shaking her head and then looking down to their laced hands, giving him a squeeze, ”thanks for being there for me in my time of need”[/b], giving a giggle before directing the pair of them out the door and giving a glance around. the sky was just starting to darken, a nice sunset in their view but her stomach interrupted all thoughts about watching the sun set against the sun, ”so what are you in the mood for?”[/b], as cassie was able to eat just about anything at this moment, evident with another growl from her stomach. this time though, it was louder and a blush rushed over her pale cheeks, her arm extending across her midrift while trying to muffle the sounds of her hunger.
