personality
despite his looks, corey is a complete gentleman. he isn't completely against violence, he's all for throwing himself into a mosh pit or defending himself or someone else, but mindless violence? hurting others for no reason? hell no. he hates war but has nothing but respect for soldiers, seeing as his own father was one. he loves, loves, loves music - it's the only thing that's kept him going, other than art and tattooing, and while he does enjoy the occasional drink at a party, maybe smoking some pot every now and again, he isn't really into the whole party scene. he doesn't ever judge someone by their appearance because he knows how badly that can hurt. in fact, he's more than willing to talk to or befriend anyone, as long as they're not a total asshole to him. he's loving, a sweetheart, and really misunderstood but he's learned not to let that stop him from doing what he loves or being who he wants to be.
history
corey did not, by any means, have an easy life. his mother died during childbirth, something that he grew up feeling extremely guilty about, and his father never remarried and ended up dying of an overdose when corey was just five years old. with no family to take care of him, he ended up being adopted. the first five years of his life weren't spent here in myrtle beach but he's always considered this his home town because it's where he grew up and was raised. his adoptive family were kind but very religious and did not really understand him. when he started, at a young age, to show his "dark side," they were frightened. he was taken to multiple psychiatrist, forced to take different medications, and was very unhappy through his preteen and teenage years. middle school and high school were the worst years for him. he was constantly bullied - kicked, punched, spit on, made fun of, pushed, anything you and think of - because of the way he dressed, the music he liked, every little detail about himself. he contemplated suicide and made one attempt his senior year of high school in september, which landed him in the hospital. by november, once he'd turned eighteen, he dropped out of school and decided to get his g.e.d. instead. his adoptive family completely disregarded him after that, they ended up moving away, but corey decided to stay in myrtle beach because it wasn't like he had anywhere else to go. eventually he learned ho to accept himself.
